"A north Fulton County attorney accused of running over and killing a real estate developer during an argument was granted a $500,000 bond at his court appearance Friday morning, Channel 2 Action News reported.
Bryan Keith Schmitt, 47, of Sandy Springs, was indicted last month on murder, felony murder and aggravated assault charges in the death of east Cobb County resident Hamid Jahangard....
On Friday, the families of both Schmitt and Jahangard filed into the courtroom. Jahangard’s family hung a large photo of him in the hallway as his children and relatives took the stand and made the case for why they believed Schmitt should remain in jail, Channel 2 reported...."

In fact, Georgia alleges the video evidence in the case against Bryan Schmitt of Sandy Springs is so compelling that it warrants charges of murder, felony murder and aggravated assault in connection with the death last month of local real estate investor Hamid Jahangard. Schmitt, 48, associate corporate counsel and director of contracts at supply chain and technology company Manhattan Associates, was released on $500,000 bond after an emotional hearing before a courtroom packed with friends and family members of both the victim and defendant last week....
The Daily Report asked Petrey and several other criminal defense lawyers, some of them also former prosecutors, to review the criminal complaint and supporting documents, which are mainly reports by Sandy Springs police officers and investigators, and offer some observations.
