It is very clear that the cousin killed him out of jealousy because he drank at that party with the cousin's wife. I can imagine that they were both in Terry's car and maybe the cousin went down to see something. I hope he was careless and pointed a gun at him he made him get out of the car he made him walk and then he killed him in some wooded and swampy part... the animals in the area did the rest...
