Karol-Chik has been offered a plea deal of (max) 35 years to testify against Koenig & Kwak. He has until 11am tomorrow to accept.
Oh and his motion to suppress his confession was denied.

Kwaks trial has already been wiped from the docket.
Karol-chiks still shows up, so not sure if that means he did not take the plea deal or what. Could also just be leaving it on the docket till he formally pleas in court. Who knows, he has a hearing May 15th, guess we will know then.

Karol-Chik just pleaded guilty. Plea deal. Sounds like 35-48 years. Could be up to 72 depending on if he is given consecutive or concurrent sentence. Id imagine 48 will be the max imo

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff´s Office, Bartell was talking on the phone with a friend while driving in her yellow Chevy Spark in Denver at 10:45pm when she was hit by the rock.

Typically that is a defense that must be raised much earlier. I haven't seen the Defense motions but I am assuming they must be alleging they just recently became aware of this, or something. Not sure.
Trial originally scheduled Friday, July 19, 2024 is now delayed. JK is the final suspect, two others have already pleaded guilty.
