This is from 1972 and in fl. Some distance and some years later. Maybe a stretch what do you think? 2128UMFL

Agreed completely on this.
I don't know. There are some similarities but it would be a lot of growth for 2 years time. 4 ft. 5 inches and 79 lbs to 5 ft. 2 and 120 is a lot for a boy between 9 and 11. If he was a little older I might buy 8 inches in 2 years but that is a lot for a 9 year old. I looked at the growth charts and it would be moving from around the 75% for height to the 97th. It is possible but not typical. Kids normally stay along their own growth curve.
Here is a link to the chart in case I'm reading it wrong, because I'm really bad at reading them. https://www.cdc.gov/growthcharts/data/set2clinical/cj41c071.pdf
I just checed on growth trajectories, and the numbers lined up for height and weight gains between 9 and 12, starting at 4'5" and 79lbs. May 1969 to May 1972, three years of growth.

Also, I see one source noting the Doe's eyes are "possibly" brown.

Wondering about the possibility of attempting to hitchhike back to Sterling, or at least Illinois.
