Oh no, you're very wrong, he was very sorry when he punched that lawyer in the mouth and drove him to the hospital. Hell, he convinced even the asst DA of his sorryness to the point that the DA asked the lawyer not to press charges! Hell, I would pretend to be sorry as hell as well if I knew that I faced a charge that would require me to submit a DNA sample while knowing my DNA was sought for rape/etc, I'd become mother freakin Theresa if I had a chance of getting off from that! Big ol' sorry Jesse...that DA is now a judge, by the way, I hope he doesn't have trouble sleeping at night with that blood on his hands

I wonder if his sudden contrition and attempt to take care of the matter (driving the guy to the hospital), coincided with the realization that he would be drawing unwanted (law enforcement) attention to himself; and had little to do with feeling remorse.

Another reason why I think the link is a DNA match, from the VSP press release:
Last week, the arrest of Jesse L. Matthew Jr., 32, of Charlottesville, Va., provided a significant break in this case with a new forensic link for state police investigators to pursue.

Also:

DNA evidence was collected from the site where Harrington's remains were found on Anchorage Farm, south of Charlottesville, three months after her disappearance. State police have previously confirmed that a DNA link between Harrington's case and a 2005 Fairfax City sexual assault exists.

Not the shirt, but the site where she was found. That would make their case much stronger than if they were relying on DNA found on the shirt.

I've been wondering how your sleuthing was going on this. I thought I'd missed an update. I wish I had a suggestion.

I wish it had been going better. As it stands all I know is that the courts requested Martha Jefferson House to garnish his wages however they never did. The same request was later made to UVA Hospital when he started working there and they DID garnish his wages. That case is listed as closed whereas the earlier MJH case is still listed as pending. That's what makes me wonder if JM worked at MJH much earlier than when the wage garnishment was actually filed and that when they finally caught up with him in 2012 he was actually no longer employed there.

Regardless if anyone has any thoughts on how I can sleuth out this scenario please PLEASE PM me so I can sleep better at night.

Me too. AVIXEN - it was your post the other night that made the hairs on my arms stand up. It was that one extra clue that made be believe that JM was involved in the disappearance and murder of Morgan.

What a conflicting mix of emotions today when I checked in:: simultaneous "yes the 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬's gonna pay!" at the same time as "Oh, I'm so sorry Hannah." And her parents.

I hope the cops are very careful and have been very careful with the evidence they've collected and how they've done it and that al protocols were followed. Derrek Todd Lee was linked to I want to say at least 9 deaths but the prosecution only chose to charge him of two. They did their job and he's on death row but the victims whose daughters trials never saw the light of day were left feeling very unsatisfied. It's easy as a bystander to say at least he'll pay but I know if it was my kid Id want a verdict saying YOU, you killed MY kid and YOU will now pay for it.

This is true and not true. I know because my brother's best friend was the boyfriend of Carrie Yoder. They decided to prosecute enough that he would be found guilty, but leave enough so they can try him again on other cases, if anything ever happens to mess up the conviction. The families were very united and supportive of the decisions the prosecutors made. They kind of felt like a conviction for one was a conviction for all. That was an incredibly horrible and scary time for Louisiana, for sure!

I have a question for some of the more experienced sleuthers who have experience with many cases. We now know LE has established a forensic link between JM and Morgan. And we know that JM was first accused of raping a woman at LU on October 17, the same date that, years later, Morgan disappeared. Do you think this means dates are important to him and we should be looking for date connections in other possible cases? Or is this likely a major coincidence?

Several others have also mentioned this in the past. His offenses tend to take place in September/October... Seasonal depression was brought up as well as I believe that's when he was kicked off the football team after the rape allegations? Something along those lines. That's on some thread who knows which lolllll. I got lost once the generals split off.

morgboot-20boc.jpg Morgan's Boots

In the article linked above LE refuses to comment about what clothing articles were recovered and those that were not. May I ask why you think the boots were not recovered?

Maybe that was in the second link but it doesn't work for me.

Has anyone found out where JLMs new apartment or residence was going to be? I mean he gave notice that he was moving so its likely that he had somewhere else to go?

Reason Im asking is because the new location may have been very near where Morgans Shirt was found. It could even have fallen out of a box while moving instead of being deliberately placed to taunt police.

Stranger things have happened.

it was found in november of 2009

Could it be as simply as incompetence on the part of MJH? This guy certainly seems to have led a charmed criminal life. Until now.

Also, HG disappeared on September 13th and Samantha Clark (case remains unsolved) also was last seen on September 13th. There are two other cases, Heidi and David who were shot and killed on August 26th and another case with that same date (don't recall the victim's name).

It's difficult to say if JM is involved in all these cases and if the dates are deliberate. Sociopaths don't think like the average person does and can create a meaning to something even when none exists.

Having said that, I don't believe in raw coincidence and personal experience has proven that a particular date can and often will cause the sociopath to react.

I watched the Disappeared episode. They mentioned the tshirt was just kind of placed in plain view after so long. I wonder if he got cocky and was taunting him. If so, it was his downfall...also in the episode they never mentioned DNA being recovered from it. I wonder if they kept that close to the vest hoping the perp would become careless?

My understanding is that DNA taken from the Pantera Tshirt was used to confirm that it had been worn by MH and thus had almost certainly been in possession of the perp following the murder... Perhaps suggesting that the perp might be a local and might have a penchant for collecting 'souvenirs' and was likely not incarcerated around the time the shirt was found...

On the subject of triggers:

It stands to reason that this time of year might be one for JLM. Fall time at college campuses everywhere brings football and football brings parties.

After getting kicked out of Liberty for the alleged rape of a student, (which probably happened at one of those football parties IMO) JLM might have decided the next girl he raped was going to die.

He likely had a lot of rage and resentment built up over that considering he was a football superstar and in his twisted mind he could have believed the girl was to blame.

I think we should look for women between the ages of 17-27 that were raped or went missing between August-Late October.

I think college football runs through Nov., doesn't it?

I was JUST rewatching the Disappeared about her on Netflix and they said LP refused to disclose cause of death. They also said they hoped the DNA link would prove useful some day.

This is what blows my mind about untested rape kits. How many of there would link two or more victims to the same perpetrators- giving LE more opportunities to find links to the victims? It is a crime, and an insult to every single rape victim who manages to come forward and report.

Gil Harrington is a courageous and amazingly spiritual person/mother.. I am a firm believer that there is always a spiritual connection to every act of homicide..

At a CUE(Community United Effort) National missing/murdered person conference in NC/2010, I had the honor of meeting GH & DH. DH & GH, spoke near the end of the national candlelight vigil which was held at night on the river front of the Cape Fear river, Wilmington, NC.
Gil Harrington read a heartfelt poem that she had written for/to Morgan.

The river, only feet away, was white capping and something caught the corner my eye, coming in to view from out of the darkness. It was a pure white sailboat silently skimming by, as would a dove fly by with only one wing tip touching the water. Needless to say, it sent chills up my spine. I asked Monica Caison later if this event had been pre-planned..
She said that it wasn't...

Re: local opinion about Gil Harrington

I think it must be a mistake.

The initial lead investigators on the MH case was the UVA PD (not the CPD). By most accounts, they did a terrible job. Additionally, the Harringtons ended up suing the company that provided security to the JPJ Arena on the night that she disappeared.

There is a definite tendency in Cville not to take the criticism of "outsiders" very well. The kind of criticism tends to engender a circle the wagons mentality amongst certain people that live here. JMO

I too followed Morgan's case closely. You are right, after a while I saw disparaging comments from supposed locals about the Harrington's. Never did and still don't understand:mad:

Looking now but I believe the assault actually predates Morgan's abduction IIRC.
