KIRKLAND, Wash March 1,2018 . - Police said a woman hit a grandmother in the back of the head then snatched her two-year-old grandson in Bridle Trails State Park in Kirkland Thursday afternoon.

Investigators said the toddler’s mom was in the car with a two-month-old baby when she saw the attacker running <snip>
The mom bolted out the car, joined the chase and scuffled with the 33-year-old suspect until she got her toddler back safely.

An officer on routine patrol arrested the suspect, who's had prior contact with police and who investigators think may have a mental illness and lives out of her car.

“It’s gone from the most beautiful, peaceful community to an absolute nightmare,” the neighbor said. “A lot of drug activity coming and going from the park, I will no longer walk my dog alone in the park.”

One of the main reasons I'm posting this is at Websleuths how tragedyly we know the barrage of attacks preditors carry out on our precious children 24/7.
As an aside Bridle Trails is a million dollar neighborhood. It was the site of a 'Street of Dreams' builders attraction a number of years ago. Not that I think crimes against children are any less likely to be attempted or carried out even in insulated affluent public areas. But it is a reminder of the precarious dangers that lurk even in beautiful wealthy parks.
fftopic:As an aside for those of you who follow the tragic Sky Metalwal thread this is the same park investigators desperately combed for clues. There was genuine hope it might contain possible clues to Sky's whereabouts in the days leading up to 'his (staged)disappearance reported by his mother Julia Biryukova.
