The father of a 2-year-old boy said he abandoned his son and the child’s mother on the side of I-75 just north of Toledo, Ohio before they vanished. That was 41 years ago.

Foul play is suspected in the Aug. 31, 1981, disappearance ... [snip] He told police he left both of them on the side of I-75 with a suitcase and $4,000.

It's interesting they never mention the name of the man in this story. Usually that's one of those stories where some investigative reporter brings a TV crew and goes and bangs on the guy's door asking questions. It's not like they can't easily figure out the identity of the guy.

He's changed his name a couple of times, so that complicates things. According to the sources mentioned earlier in this thread, his name is Harry Kziran, he lives in Farmington Hills, Michigan, and he's the owner of Grand Jewelers in Grand Blanc, Michigan.

It must be very frustrating for LE because it doesn't exactly take Columbo/Luther/Sherlock Holmes to know where to turn the spotlight, but knowing and getting enough evidence to convict are two different things. I can only hope one day I read, "Police make arrest in 40 year-old cold case" and the person who did it faces justice. Justice deferred is still a form of justice.
