MO - Lisa Irwin, 10 mos, Kansas City, 4 Oct 2011

  • #181
Using Redhead's link from above there's this.

Earlier today, three witnesses in two Kansas City locations told "Good Morning America" they were convinced they saw a man carrying a baby matching Lisa's description the night she disappeared from her Missouri bedroom.

That's some powerful testimony.

this ^^, among other statements imo, is misleading. the first search of the house had "limited consent" by the parents and LE then had to request a warrant for the "unfettered access" and to collect later samples. "allowed" imo, is something other than court ordered to give access due to a signed warrant:

http://abcnews.go.com/US/missing-baby-lisa-cadaver-dogs-detect-smell-deceased/story?id=14786129

From the warrant:

Detectives obtained consent to search for the house beginning on October 4th, 2011.

The extent of the search had been limited in nature with consent although each search has recovered evidence helpful to further progress the investigation. However, the type of search needed at this time would not be conducive to being revoked at any time by the owners and/or their attorney.

http://media2.nbcactionnews.com/NWT/pdf/20111021_irwinwarrant.pdf

The warrant does not say the parents gave limited consent. I think "limited in nature (with consent)" has a very different meaning from "limited consent". Nowhere in the warrant does it say that the parents refused to give consent for the search.

October 17th 2011:

FBI agents moved in Monday with a search dog to look in baby Lisa's home and a next-door neighbor's home.

"They are clearing the area to eliminate this area as having any additional tips or clues or any type of leads that can move us forward in the investigation. We do have consent for the dogs to go inside the house, so it is one more step in moving the investigation along," said FBI spokesperson Bridget Patton.

http://www.kctv5.com/story/15711864/investigators-continue-searh-for-baby-lisa-near-family-home

October 19th 2011:

"We have a warrant for the house," Young told The Associated Press early Wednesday. He did not explain why a warrant was necessary. There was no indication that the family has tried to block investigators' access to their home, which has already been scoured by FBI agents with dogs.

FBI spokeswoman Bridget Patton said the search is not based on any sort of tip. Patton said they were restricting media access because agents are using a procedure involving dogs that they didn't want to be recorded. She declined to elaborate.

Young said all previous searches of the house have been conducted with the family's consent. The warrant prevents anyone except those involved in the investigation from entering, meaning family members — who have returned home from time to time to collect clothes and other belongings — may not go back inside until the search is over.

The family's lawyer, Joe Tacopina, told AP early Wednesday that he had not heard about the warrant except through media reports.

"I don't know why a warrant is needed. They can go in and out any time," Tacopina said. "They have had unfettered access because we want answers."

October 19th 2011:

"We felt [that] this time, since [Bradley and Irwin] had retained an attorney, to go to a judge to make sure there was no confusion over our legal right to be there," Kansas City Police Department Capt. Steve Young told ABCNews.com.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/missing-baby-lisa-17-hour-search-family-home/story?id=14779537#.T0oTs3n7mOc

October 19th 2011:

According to the FBI, the search warrant was not sought because of a specific tip and it was not the result of the parents refusing to consent to searches of any parts of the home. A spokesperson said that it was part of an effort to be as thorough as possible in the investigation.

October 19th 2011:

Reporter: Talk to me about why they are going back into the house today.

FBI Spokeswoman Bridget Patton: It's what we've been doing all week long. We've been going back to areas that we have previously searched. We are re-searching them, looking again for any tips, any leads, anything that could move us forward in the investigation.

Reporter: Now, the fact that they're going in- does that mean that they missed something the first time, or is it just- are you guys at a place where you all- I mean, it kind of feels like we're almost at a standstill with the investigation.

FBI Spokeswoman Bridget Patton: Right. It's not saying that we've missed something- what we want to do is ensure that we have thoroughly examined that area, thoroughly searched that area to ensure there is nothing out there that would give us a sense or a lead or a tip that could take us forward with the investigation.

Sneak peek of the Kelly File.

From the video:

Later this week in a Kelly File exclusive, we will air explosive interviews by a CIA interrogator. Never before seen tapes of baby Lisa's parents on camera. Tonight, a preview of how a human lie detector has now shown a brand new light on this case.

Much more @ link.

Here's another recent news story:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-daughter-reveals-anguish-drunk-vanished.html

The mother of missing girl Lisa Irwin has spoken of her ongoing anguish over the loss of her daughter - and revealed that she still looks into every passing stroller wondering if the child inside is actually hers.

Deborah Irwin also repeated how she regrets getting drunk with a friend on the night her daughter, aged just 10 months, vanished more than three years ago.

In a tearful interview alongside her husband Jeremy, she told how she felt kidnappers took advantage of a moment of weakness and snatched her child while she wasn't alert enough to react.

Here is the discussion thread-
http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...5-Baby-Lisa-s-Parents-Never-Before-Seen-Tapes

I linked most of the special there. Two parts weren't uploaded, but I have them recorded on my computer. I'll upload them within the next 2 hours.

Thats a good idea so others can see it. I watched and normally don't watch anything Fox has, but felt I had to see this one and am glad I did. I thought Detective Thurman (the OJ case), really has an issue with women in general quite frankly. He seems like an angry guy. (LA Police Dept. Detective, in homicide)... and the LA police don't exactly have a sterling record for getting their guys. And he's been saying shes guilty since day 1, which makes it very hard to go back and say, "wait a minute I made a mistake". Few are willing to do that, egos being what they are.

I think Jersey Joe (currently in jail or prison), is more the one to lean on then DB or J.I.

BTW: What did anyone get out of the MW cell phone call she received from one of the stolen phones at 11:57PM the night Lisa disappeared? Has that one been dismissed out of hand?

Seems they all know each other.

The call apparently did not go through, due to the Irwin phones being unable to make outgoing calls. Learn more about that in these videos:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjoiUNaOtVE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIjHoi9eYoA

Megan said she didn't have the phone at the time of the call. She claims a man named Dane was using it. Read about him here:

http://www.kctv5.com/story/16969868/witness-in-lisa-irwin-case-faces-stabbing-charge

Megan's number did not appear on the Irwin phone records for at least a year prior to Lisa's disappearance. Megan is Jersey's ex girlfriend. She said she does not know the parents and had never heard of them before the disappearance.

Still do not have a good feeling about Lisa's mother. Just a feeling and I've certainly been wrong before.

And while I get the phones being stolen, that specific theft and taking a baby just sounds 'off'. Usually, thieves (from reading about their activities in the media) grab and run. Who takes time to take a baby --- that might wake up and cry ?

:moo:

I have never thought this was a straight up abduction as in that was the motivation for breaking in. I hate to say it but I think baby Lisa may have been taken because she awakened as a robbery was taking place and she was removed from the home in a panic by an idiot who did not know what else to do but had no wish to harm her specifically. Either that or two individuals were present and one argued against silencing the baby permanently arguing that they could simply leave her somewhere down the road.

This is one of those cases that I dearly hope to know the answers to one day.

Or perhaps as reported somewhere i read, a meth addict had been bragging someone was paying him $300.00 to steal the baby. What about all those sightings of a "thin-balding male carrying a baby" at various times seen the next morning. We can't just ignore these witness sightings either if they have not been adequately explained.

The $300 rumor was unsubstantiated. The Irwin's attorney went to the media with that information. It was given to him by the mother of a teenage girl who had heard it from a teen boy at a vigil for Lisa. Apparently she misunderstood what was said. The teen said Jersey WOULD be the type of person to steal a baby for $300, not that he DID steal Lisa for $300. Links:

This has always been my thought also, something along these lines.

ETA: And if Deb put her to bed at 6-6:30 like she has always claimed, then I can see how she would have woken up at some point during the night..that's a lot of sleep, even for a baby that wasn't feeling well.

I suppose the problem is, DB gave two time frames for putting the baby to her crib for the night. So which one should now be believed? This case drives me up the walls and I don't think it will ever get solved. Just don't feel good about this one finding the true answers anytime soon.
According to Fuhrmann, he said DB wouldn't speak with the LE after they heard her on TV give a different time for putting Lisa to bed. So it was never explained to them why she did this.
