I remember in the Gabby Petito case that LE had the exact time Brian Laundrie entered the city he lived in. Maybe LE has searched places that CP was in. Cameras are everywhere anymore. Hopefully they have found some footage that can help.

May 3. Madalina Cojocari was last seen five months ago, causing an outpouring of concern not just in Cornelius, but all over the world.

There are a dozen Facebook pages where members try to crack the case.

The posts are not as frequent, but her 12th birthday was observed at the Police Station April 11.

Gina Patterson, the lead CPD detective was there. She’s still on the case after sleepless nights, joint searches of Madalina’s home with the FBI and SBI—and prayers.

Patterson and the Madalina team have followed up on literally hundreds of tips that continue to come in.

“At least two a week at this point, and we follow up on them,” Patterson said. Madalina is not a “cold case” as the tips are still meaningful and viable. She won’t disclose the nature of the tips however.

The 47-year-old veteran CPD officer—she began on patrol 20 years ago—talks to the SBI and FBI about the Madalina Cojocari case virtually every day.

I'm not sad that they are still both in jail with all of these postponements.

Agreed. I have been hoping that the postponements are just to keep them there because they are close to the truth.

This nothing-burger two-sentence news story was published yesterday. We already knew this from court calendar. What the heck is going on with this case, besides moving hearings back every three months?

The case against the parents of missing Cornelius girl Madalina Cojocari has been pushed back to August. The couple was expected in court Thursday.

domestic violence
Curious why you say this. Not discounting that DC could be a victim of DV, but how would that prohibit her or MC from boarding a regular flight? As far as I can see CP did not adopt MC and had no "claim" to her. If DC wanted to send her off to Moldova or somewhere within U.S., he wouldn't be able to stop her. So why the need to "smuggle" either of them?

Hope MC is okay.. the length of her disappearance is starting to look grim.

Another Madalina reminder from Cornelius Police Department today:
"It has been 6 months since Madalina was last seen getting off her school bus on 11/21/22. Madalina should be getting ready to enjoy the warm summer months of being at the beach and swimming. Please call Detectives at 704-892-7773 with any info that will help us to #FindMadalina."

and a short video with Madalina:

An update from a WSOC reporter. I don't see any further details yet, but they're forthcoming.

"Burke Co- the sheriffs office says it has stepped up patrols in the Oak Hill community after two reports of a private investigator asking folks about the Madalina Cojocari case"

As always, hope I can link this correctly, I'm a #OldManUsingTechnology

From Dave Faherty, WSOC

OK, the WSOC story didn't reveal much beyond the blurb in my previous reply and the authorities didn't yield any additional info. There's actually no info in the story proving whether this was a real PI or just a concerned citizen with a flyer. However, it's interesting that the search, if it's legit, is in a new place. Burke County NC is in between Cornelius and the previously-targeted Madison County. Some towns along I-40, pretty rural country in the outskirts.

I still google Madalina's name every day hoping for news. I'm having love/hate vibes about this investigation that frustrates me to no end. It's a good thing I live 1,720 miles from Cornelius NC because I know I'd be a squeaky wheel and a thorn in the side of that police dept there. What the heck is going on in this investigation.?

I truly feel that LE know a lot more than they are telling the public and I think they are stuck in the investigation. I think they are stuck regarding their next move, that there is something hindering the next step, wether that be information, proof or a missing link. The fact that they haven't changed the investigation to a murder investigation is a positive step but it also means that a) they have not found anything to say M was murdered and b) they may know that she is alive.
Just my two pence/cents

I was reading the search warrants for Cojocari's today and when it says the reason for the warrant LE wrote "Kidnap". I wonder if the call's to OC were not about smuggling but OC acting as a middle man for MC return. I also read that LE had an incident Dec 4 - 5 for DC sleeping in her car at a pull off in Madison Co. The dates would coincided with the call's to OC. LE said that OC contacted individuals involved in a T3 investigation. These individuals would now know they are being investigated.

New video shows North Carolina girl missing for 6 months

  • Madalina Cojocari was last seen on Nov. 21, 2022
  • Her mother and stepfather did not report her missing for three weeks
  • Both parents are in jail for failing to report a missing child

Other documents show police were called to the Cojocari’s house on Nov. 30, a week after Madalina was last seen, for a report of the family burning furniture in the yard.

From the beginning, police have searched the home. They haven’t revealed what they have seized, and have said only that they were looking for any evidence of a kidnapping or violent crime.

Agree with @Observant-ADHD-ENFP-BSc You would think if a violent crime had occurred, there would be evidence in the home, in the burn bit, on walls or furniture. We don’t know I guess that there isn’t, but LE seems to be at a standoff waiting to make a move. But then brings me back to, if nothing bad happened that needed to be covered up, why burn sofa cushions or whatever else might have gone in the fire? It feels like then it just goes round in a circle.

I hope to God that LE know more than we do, and aren't just completely at a loss (also like us!)
