Was anyone able to watch the Oxygen special? Any new info?
Unfortunately they edited out almost all the info I gave them including all the info on the Anaheim area victims-I'm beyond disappointed with these networks. I've done the interviews to get more info out there to try to ID more victims. If any of them approach me again I'll demand a writtem contract that I get to review the edited version before it airs and give approval-otherwise don't waste my time. Was anyone able to watch the Oxygen special? Thank you, Detective, for doing your best to get this info out there. Do you have any recommendations for distributing the information, like mentioning it in a Facebook group about Anaheim focusing on that time period? They left out all the info on 1985 Anaheim area. He was working as an electrician and his co-workers saw him with a young woman with children in the car that he said he was dating. He also had a 6 month old girl along with Lisa that he said was also his daughter-a co-worker babysat both of them. In 1986 at the RV park he only had Lisa. With the fact he lost he job due in part because he stole a band saw from a jobsite (dismemberment of victims) and with Lisa's statement when she was recovered that she had siblings, but they died from eating "grass mushrooms" while out camping it's pretty certain that they are also all dead. The woman may have been an apartment manager in the Anaheim area. I had reports of a young single mother with a daughter that was a manager of an apartment that Rasmussen had a connection to, that suddenly over a weekend had moved away, took $500.00 dollars of the apartments money and was never heard from again. The apartment owner's daughter said it was surprising and totally out of character for this manager. No one still alive could remember her name.
I think he had to have murdered at least one other family in between the time he killed Denise and the time he abandoned Lisa. The "grass mushrooms" comment, as well as the fact that Lisa and Terry were seen with a newborn baby in 1985 that was nowhere to be seen in 1986.Great news on the identification. This dude was a terror the only reason i don't think he's one of the most prolific US Serial Killers is he seemed to want to create makeshift families before killing them off which takes time. No doubt he has other victims though.
I was quite surprised that he was listed all along on the birth certificate. I think it would be worth doing a search under all of his known aliases to see if he is listed as the father anywhere else.Thank goodness for the DNA Doe project on getting Rea identified! I thought this day would ever come.
I have a question for other websleuths who have followed this case. Having invested numerous hours in this case, I was in complete shock to hear that Rea's birth has always been on record. I had heard a tip back in July about the possibility of Pepper Reed being the biochilds mother. After doing some research on Pepper, another researcher and I found a birth record for Rea Rasmussen - with the mother's surname as Reed. I decided I would apply for her birth certificate from the state of California. Within 2 weeks, I received a hard copy in the mail. It lists his full name, Terry Peder Rasmussen, as well as his SSN (crossed out). To use the word, 'shock' is an understatement.
For me, that meant Rea could have been identified 8 years ago. Not to think of all the genetic genealogy companies that donated their time, resources, and hours (not to mention websleuths). Not to mention how these resources, for the past 8 years, could have been focused on Pepper and Rea's cases.
So long question short, if law enforcement missed this rather rudimentary step in their investigation, is it possible there are more children of Rasmussen? Will/Did they ever run his name through any databases since the realization of Rea's birth certificate? As law enforcement never addressed this huge mistake, it leaves me wondering. Should I/we (websleuths) be starting from square one for researching Terry Rasmussen?
From what I could find on Ancestry, she was born September 6 1952, in North Carolina to Clyde and Barbara Reed before moving to Texas.I was quite surprised that he was listed all along on the birth certificate. In regards to Pepper, are there any details about Pepper released yet? Height/weight? Identifiers?
They released these Sunday in the press release but no other details. I am just wondering when they will release her missing persons profile with identifiers. From what I could find on Ancestry, she was born September 6 1952, in North Carolina to Clyde and Barbara Reed before moving to Texas.
She has dark hair and dark eyes, but I'm unsure about height/weight. Attached are a few pictures of her (if they haven't been added to this thread already). I believed the colour photo is the most recent.

1986? Vs 1896?IMO, I believe I have found another possible child of Rasmussen’s, born 9 Oct 1982 in Michigan. I have no reason to believe they are deceased. Guardianship was petitioned, in 1896,by two people with same last name. Notice of Hearing was published for Terry Rasmussen. I am assuming that since the hearing took place in probate court and guardianship was petitioned for female and male, that mother may have been “unavailable”. I suspect that the mother may have been the sister as her obituary, in 1896, mentioned a daughter of the same name and aligns with the petition year. JMO.
Gosh, thank you. I’ve corrected dates1986? Vs 1896?
In addition, I believe Pepper’s mother’s maiden name was Purvis. They released these Sunday in the press release but no other details. I am just wondering when they will release her missing persons profile with identifiers.
I believe Pepper has her own thread now:I was quite surprised that he was listed all along on the birth certificate. I think it would be worth doing a search under all of his known aliases to see if he is listed as the father anywhere else.

Does anyone know if these are all school pictures. I think she was 24 or so when Rae was born. From what I could find on Ancestry, she was born September 6 1952, in North Carolina to Clyde and Barbara Reed before moving to Texas.

Confirmed it was the sisters child via birth announcement. The baby has her unmarried name. I need to do some digging to confirm it is the same Terry Rasmussen.IMO, I believe I have found another possible child of Rasmussen’s, born 9 Oct 1982 in Michigan.
