I am interested in the older children in the home. Wonder what else may have happened...was it Mom and Dad? Or is there more to this story?

I also wonder when the 4 boys were taken into protective custody. Was it the first day the police arrived at the house or the day the Robinsons were arrested which was 4 days later on January 19th. Also, AR stated there was an incident the day before. Did the police question the boys, etc. So many questions. I wish there were more people on this thread to brainstorm with.

Biological Parents of Girl Allegedly Killed by Food Network Star Hold Funeral | PEOPLE.com

The biological parents of Victoria Rose Smith, who was allegedly killed by her adoptive parents last month, held an emotional funeral for the 3-year-old this week.

Food Network star Ariel and her husband Jerry Austin Robinson, who adopted Victoria in March, were arrested on Jan. 19 in connection to the toddler's Jan. 14 death.

The Worst Cooks in America star, 29, and her husband Jerry Austin, 34, were charged with homicide by child abuse, PEOPLE previously reported...

She mentioned mental illness and depression...maybe she experienced psychosis and did this?

or maybe it was all an act

poor kid either way. Rest easy, angel.

I am still just speechless over this! This little angel had a second chance with a happy loving family ( along with her brothers). Instead, IMO ...they get a seriously mentally ill, limelight and attention seeking comedienne to "portray" a mother in a loving family, all while the 'undercurrents' of today's socially inept world became too much to bear for AR. So she beats the crap out of a child? To death? What a world we are living in.
RIP little Victoria Rose

Anyone watch her IG videos, there is one where the brother, AR biological son is putting his hands on Victoria, nothing too extreme but she never told him to stop instead she told her to fight back. He is clearly bigger than her. She posted her the most like she was obsessed. Why did she adopt these kids then abuse the only girl. I bet the others were abused too.

Can you link that video for those who do not have an IG account? The birth family mentioned that she looked thinner. That could be from growing taller. Could AR focusing so much on the daughter have made one of her biological sons jealous? The birth family says all three were mistreated for months with V getting the worst of it. That doesn’t seem to be the case from AR’s most recent pics of V. What really happened the day before? It seems like they would still be responsible if there was an accident or incident, involving one of the biological sons, the day before, and they waited a day to get help.

IMO, there is way too much media focus on Ariel Robinson having won Food Network's Worst Cooks In America reality show than on sweet little Victoria Rose who died at the hands of her adoptive parents. I hope we begin to learn more about the case, details of what happened within this family, what led to the homicide charges, etc. Media needs to stop focusing on AR as an internet sensation, Food Network star, and standup comedienne. Again, MOO.

I can link it for you if you want fam. But I don't think you need an IG account to watch a video, you just won't be able to like comments or comment on it. I could be wrong but either way I can dm you the video link from AR's account, and one of those sites that host IG videos. Just lmk :)

^ Am I hearing this correctly? Is Jerry saying that Victoria Rose is "choking on water"? Can't help wondering what was going on in that household...

That is what the article says he was saying. CPR can cause injuries. Is it possible that they are going to say that the injuries happened trying to get her to respond and clearing her airway? It seems more likely that something happened the day before.

Thanks. I listened to the 9-1-1 call twice but didn't read the article.

Ugh I hate this kind of parenting.

So many terrible parenting techniques on display in this case - the worst of course that outburst during the home study!! It is very sad. I do believe this family really truly wanted to adopt and love these children, but the adults lacked proper parenting skills, perhaps they had never seen them modeled, perhaps untreated or undiagnosed mental health and anger issues as well. Just heartbreaking.

Do we need to invest in social services continuing check-ins in adoption cases? Anecdotally, between this and Orrin and Orson West it seems like we should. Mandatory monthly peer support groups via zoom for the first six months of adjustment might improve outcomes as well. When I was a new mom, I went to every mommy support group I could find and I learned so many wonderful techniques from these groups - one was at a hospital hosted by a nurse, some were just mommy meet ups, and the La Leche League was a God send for me. Having that outlet to share tips and frustrations seems incredibly valuable, especially when adding multiple children with difficult backgrounds to a family at once. JMO
