Dallas couple might have been killed by mistake

"Police now believe that a combination of theft and mistaken identity led to the deaths of a Dallas couple found last week under a bridge in southeast Dallas County.
Nicolas Monarrez, 30, who is being sought by police in the slayings, told a witness that the two were abducted and then killed in retaliation for an October 2006 theft by "an associate" of the couple, according to court records. "

It doesn't sound like it was a mistake. They said that this couple was killed because of something that someone that they knew did to the killers. They got back at the guilty party by murdering their friends. I hope all of these guys enjoy their life long stay in prison....was it really worth it????????????

I MEANT THE KILLERS, masterj.

or are you going to defend them, too?

Oh sorry, I didn't realize you moved on to talking about the killers rather than commenting on the citizenship of the deceased.

Now why would I defend the killers? :waitasec:

Wow-never in my life have I seen someone hate a group of people so openly. Reb- do you REALLY think that just because a handful of murders by coyotes have been reported that that is why all hispanics are murdered? You know-they have looney tune's that kill for no reason just like us good ol' American folk!!!

it's not hate, it's just the truth that no one wants so talk about. and people don't like the truth, so they kill the messenger.
since we are all wondering what happened here & would like to get to the root of it and since this is a valid possibility here (as much as any other), it deserves to be discussed- since violence from illegal immigration issues is becoming more & more prevalent every day-- in YOUR world and mine. and i just brought it up as a possibility, but if you want to keep your head in the sand & call it hate, then be my guest- you are free to do so. i refuse to, however.

News Flash-there have been violent illigal immigrants coming into this country for YEARS. I'm sorry if you're just realizing this after watching your local news, but THAT is the truth. I'm perfectly aware of the situation, I understand the problem, and I know just as well as you do that the problem needs to be addressed. Does that mean I'm going to speculate that every hispanic murdered was done so by the hands of coyotes or gang-bangers? No.

I hesitate to jump in here because I don't want to take one saide aganst another but just wanted to post a thought that struck me when I read that the crime had happened as a payback for something done by their aquaintances or friends. Without even thinking of nationality or ethnicity I thought "that sounds like the sort of tit-for-tat stuff that seems to go on in the gang killings I read about in the news." Of course I also, at the same time, realized it could have been something else too. Either way it did cause me to wonder what circumstances prompted that sort of a tit-for-tat thinking that resulted in the crime. Again, I am not wanting to get embroiled in the ethnicity debate at all. I just am curious what led up to the tit-for-tat response thinking. What sort of things happen to a person that makes them decide that if you took something of theirs that they would just kill someone you know and not kill you?

The two were expecting their first child and neither had a criminal record.

They disappeared on Jan. 6 and were last seen waiting outside the home of a mechanic who was repairing Campos' car.

Investigators now theorize that mechanic Francisco Iniguez blamed Campos for the burglary of at least $40,000 in cash and drugs from the home of another man.

That man is 30-year-old Nicolas Monarrez, and he is now suspected in the couple's death.

Monarrez remains at large and may have fled to Mexico.

Two other men were charged with capital murder in the deaths of the couple

Police are investigating whether an apparent voodoo shrine found 200 yards from the bodies of a missing couple has anything to do with their deaths.

The shrine was found near Interstate 45 and Dowdy Ferry Road, close to the area where the bodies of Linoshka Torres and Luis Campos were abandoned.
