Police have launched an investigation after the body of a woman was found near a south Manchester cricket club.

Emergency services were called to Brookthorpe Avenue, Burnage, at around 3pm on Monday (May 5) following reports of a body found nearby. The area was cordoned off as officers carried out enquiries.

The force have now confirmed the body of a woman, who has yet to be identified, was found.
