Winnie the Pooh blanket

I guess the blanket that the state has in its posession, is the one taken from the Anthony home ? That will be hard to dispute with the pictures of it, and Cindy's statement that it was missing from the home.

Did Casey Anthony tell a jailhouse friend a detail only her daughter's killer would know?

Not long after remains of 2-year-old Caylee were found in December 2008, Anthony told fellow inmate Robyn Adams that investigators found the bones in a black garbage bag with a baby blanket.

That last detail — the baby blanket — wasn't public knowledge at the time.

"Casey Anthony had knowledge of items only the suspect, certain law enforcement personnel and the certain medical examiner's personnel knew," an Orange County sheriff's detective wrote in a report that was among more than 500 pages released Tuesday.

I have read through some of the old threads looking for when the blanket was first revealed. It is amazing how many posters speculated that it was a blanket that matches something in the house as early as Dec 11th. I continue to search.

I am trying to imagine an investigator that leaks information to the press about the garbage bag and the duct tape without mentioning the blanket. Also, Tm was allowed in that scene Dec 11th and he went on Ng that night. I would see that as some kind of security issue.

At any rate, I did find a wesh article dated Dec 14th 2008 that mentions Caylee being wrapped in something inside the garbage bag. I am providing the link below, However, I do not believe that it has been established at all that Caylee was ever in any bag. IMO thanks

If what RA says is true then...

Some here have wondered if the laundry bag was in the trash bags. I think that her knowing the bones were in the trash bags vs. the laundry bag is another slip. The specifics of that were not known at the time until the autopsy report was released.

NTS: I provided a link on the other thread to the osteological report which indicated bones were found in one of the trash bags.

IMO, this is very damning for Inmate Anthony. Before the remains were identified, before the public knew what was found with Caylee's remains, Inmate Anthony, IMO, knew....which goes hand in hand with the video of her when remains were found...very damning...:twocents:

Robyn Adams interview, pages 17, 18, 19, and 20, discuss Casey's reaction to the bones found at Jay Blanchard Park and the discovery of the remains (before the DNA tests confirmed it was Caylee) at Suburban.

It contains what the State says is knowledge of the crime.

EXCERPT~Robyn Adams interview

CW: Okay, what did she tell you that they found? I mean how did that conversation, I mean you said that she was scared, what did she say about that?

RA: They found remains, somebody had found remains um by a meter reader or a power guy or something like that um and they were taking the remains that belonged to a baby, that belonged to the baby and taking it to have DNA done or...

CW: So when you guys talked about this or wrote about it or however that conversation was had it was early. It was soon after found `em because they hadn't done any of that stuff yet.

RA: Right.

CW: And did she tell you about who found them or how they were found or anything else that was found?

RA: They found remains and they found it in a bag, it was a black bag, garbage bag.

Justice for Caylee is getting closer....

The affidavit for a search warrant that OCSO completed on Dec. 11, 2008 contained reference to the remains being found in a black bag, a blanket with the remains, and duct tape.

As I understand it, the affidavit would normally be presented with the search warrant itself. So if George and Cindy were served with the paperwork that evening then they would be aware of what was found. I recall seeing video of them at the house retrieving a dog, but I don't know if that was before or after the search started.

The Anthony's had dinner with Baez that evening, so if the warrant had been served by dinner time to Cindy, George, Brad, Hoover, or DC then it is possible the information got to Jose at that time. Then, around 8PM that evening, Jose paid a visit to KC. This would be the earliest possible point, IMO, that information about the blanket and bag could be passed on to KC.

Even that is not a guarantee, and it would be worth tracing out the timeline of where the Anthony's were and when on the 11th to see if it is possible they or someone in their camp even saw the warrant or affidavit that evening. If they did not, the next visit with KC occurred on Dec. 14, providing ample time for KC to reveal inside information.

I was reading through Dc interview and he said that he took Ga and CA directly to the ritz and to their rooms. I don't know who was home when they served the search warrant. . Or if they served it to them at the airport. Perhaps someone else was home at the time. Maybe Mallory. I just don't know at this point. IMO

I remember watching TV that day and IIRC, the Anthonys were met by BC at the airport and went directly to the hotel. I think we saw a video of Mallory going into the house to get the dogs situated - and it seems to me that was either while the Anthonys were in transit or shortly thereafter. I don't remember when the search was initially started but wasn't it about 8 o 9 and extended until well past midnight?

IIRC, Mallory showed up at Hopespring and was escorted out by LE while they awaited G&C to arrive at the airport back from the interview with Larry King. There was video of LE arriving to secure the house that should be available to timestamp that event. Also, IIRC, there was a news story about a new atty that showed up at the airport while the media awaited G&C's...he identified himself to the media...which may also be available to provide a timestamp. Finally, I'm certain there were news reports 'bout G&C et.al. off to the hotel that evening...perhaps even their menu selections were critiqued in the reports. Of couse much of that may already be contained/linked in the search warrant thread.

Just as a side note, and I know its off topic, but I am under the understanding that these things were on top of the Whinnie the Pooh blanket. I am seeing conflicting reports. This Dr in the report you linked makes his statement from the Medical examiners building even though he had been out to the crime scene and observed the gathering of the remains. When he reports his findings, he is reporting from the Medical examiners building and reporting on a body bag full of contents. Do you know if he has a field report of what he observed at the crime scene? I also noted the autopsy was observed in the same way, from the body bag with all evidence mixed together. It should be noted that the Entomologist may have said the laundry bag was on top of the garbage bags. Fbi agent Mears report may be different.

I find the field reports to be more important than that of the examiner building reports after remains and evidence put in a body bag and transferred. Hoping you can help me out and see if this Dr schultz actually made a report from the field that morning. Thanks

I have not seen a report from the Man whom actually collected the evidence to include the Winnie the Pooh blanket and placed in the body bag. Have you? thanks

IIRC after viewing the crime scene photo of the laundry bag which appears to be in the reverse vegetation location, I can not see where these black bags are inside the laundry bag. I see something inside the laundry bag, but it looks brown. So, were they taken out and then put back in? Or are my eyes playing tricks on me? thanks

I can not figure out what I am doing wrong here with searching. I go to search and type in search warrant, click threads and It comes up with several threads, but nothing called search warrant.

Can you point it out to me? thanks

Try going to "advanced search" and selecting "search titles only" after you enter your search terms. Otherwise, you will get every thread in which anyone mentioned the term "search warrant."

Here's a link of my results when I did the search that way:

parts of it were found with Caylee as well as other things she was known to have had...
so KC has to figure how that plays into her story...
since all of this happened after she was in JAil

her discovery that is....
the tape etc...

I may be incorrect but wasn't Hoover sent to the Anthony home that night. I vaguely recall something like that. I am :banghead: by brain trying to recall where I read that. I want to reteiterate that I may be recalling incorrectly.

I believe it was Mallory in the home, tho not sure who or where the search warrant was served. See this thread:

(bold mine)

Assuming Baez didn't have any search warrant details to share with Casey when he visited her on the evening of 12.11.2008:

Could Baez have provided information to Casey via telephone, either later that night or in the following days, that Casey then shared with Robyn?

IOW, is all of Casey's communication w/ her defense team face-to-face? Or do they also speak on the phone?

FWIW...

Approximate times:

December 11, 2008

9:30AM Kronk made the 911 call regarding the discovery

10:47AM *Example of report by media released unknown what is included in this report intitially since it wsa updated later in the day @ 6:11PM, which means this may have initially been reported before or after Baez's trip to the jail http://www.wesh.com/news/18253946/detail.html

##:##AM Orange County Jail notified and expected to inform Casey of the discovery

##:##AM Sgt. Allen called Cindy (still in California) to inform her of the discovery

##:## Baez went to the Orange County Jail to be with Casey http://www.wesh.com/news/18253946/detail.html

##:##PM Sheriff Beary made a statement only referring to a skull being found http://www.wftv.com/video/18256026/index.html

##:##PM Tim Miller (incredibly gracious :thumb:) gave audio interview to WFTV http://www.wftv.com/video/18256026/index.html

##:##PM Baez filed a motion to be involved w/ testing of remains

##:##PM Mallory arrived @ G&C's just a few minutes before LE arrived to secure it for a search

~4:00PM G&C's flight arrived in Orlando

6:11PM *Example report by media is updated and included (if it didn't already) the information about the remains in a bag.

>7:00PM G&C, Dominik, Lee & Mallory, et.al. gathered at the Ritz.

~7:45PM Jose joined them for dinner (per Hoover's statement handwritten pg 3906-3910 http://www.wesh.com/download/2009/0305/18862217.pdf

December 12, 2008

~1:30AM Hoover left the Ritz and went to Hopespring to lock-up after LE/CSI wrapped

~3:00AM Hoover returned to the Ritz

##:##PM G&C, Dominik & Hoover returned to Hoperspring briefly http://www.wftv.com/video/18266781/index.html

I don't recall if the interview in the jail indicates which news channel was on for Casey to observe, but, the initial reports* did indicate the remains were in a bag as they told about a skull falling out in relaying what Kronk told 911 when he picked up a bag. I haven't seen any references to a blanket.

* As one example, note that the first report linked in this post is stamped http://www.wesh.com/news/18253946/detail.html
POSTED: 10:47 AM EST December 11, 2008
UPDATED: 6:11 PM EST December 11, 2008
reporting, "Orange County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jim Solomons confirmed the remains were found in a sealed plastic bag"

So...not definitive, as far as when the blanket information was public info...or even if Robyn inserted knowledge of the blanket or after becoming aware of it after the fact. But, Jose was notified and went to spend time with Casey before joining the rest of the Anthony clan @ dinner that evening. Per the single example provided above, even OCSO's spokesman was communicating that the remains were discovered in a bag.

HTH.

FWIW: In jurisdictions where I have worked or trained, I've observed that: descriptions of clothing or materials collected wrapping the remains are not released to the general public until some confirmatory identification is completed or until some "higher power" decides to. Reasoning being: to avoid faulty identification if the decedent may have swapped clothes or some such behavior (don't laugh, it happens!), to preserve crime scene details (this is a LE issue and the ME's offices in most jurisdictions try to work peacefully with the LE) and just to avoid an influx of media calls.

Now all bets are off if the media gets to a crime scene first or if the general population uses the ubiquitous cell phone cameras!

In this particular case, IIRC.....The fact that part of Caylee was wrapped within the WTP blanket was NOT made public until a significant time had passed in the investigation.
