No. Imo.

He described a white van with the license plate number and said it happened at the Moonflower. How likely is it that it was a different couple? Why is it important to excuse Brian's behavior when we have a 911 call, and police report that said he was hitting her? Help me understand. Not being snarky. I really do not understand this.
I am NOT excusing his behaviour at all. The caller suggested a gentleman. He is not what I picture as a gentleman. I am not making an excuse for him. Regardless of who called or what they said, police found the two of them in a disagreement and we all know what went in from there.

Maybe their 3 day trip was to northern GA at the Ap trail head (or tail) If no one has seen him since that trip, they could have easily made the trip to GA and back. But it seems like LE would know this possibility. jmo
Just to clarify, I think they went on the 3-day camping trip over labor day weekend. Then they came back home. Then BL left in the mustang and drove to the reserve (we think) on the Tuesday after Labor Day. We know for sure BL came back from the camping trip? We know for sure BL drove to the reserve? I think LE knows both of those things for sure.

I live on the Canadian border, the northernmost place in the continental US and it hasn't been getting into the 30s here yet.

What about higher elevations?

Seeing all the images of the memorials for Gabby tonight, I would say we should all be so lucky that so many cared about us at our demise.

RIP dear Gabby. I'm so sorry your dreams were cut short.

And I still firmly believe that NOTHING those LE officers could have done legally that day would have broken them up and sent them their separate ways. Either one arrested (Him based on the 911 call, her based on corroborating interviews on the scene where BOTH of them said she was hitting him), the other would have filed the paperwork the next day to waive the no contact order and they would have gone on their way. The bottom line is that no matter how we evaluate it, the outcome will not be different. Whatever happened, ~2 weeks later, Gabby died. We may learn the circumstances, or we may never know. I wish the focus was more on what we DO know, and evaluating what we DO instead of a broken record of what we don't know, and making up our own theories filling in those blanks.

PERHAPS it is an opportunity for those officers and many others to learn more about those narcissistic relationships and how to identify them. But, being a narcissist is not against the law. And it is REALLY DIFFICULT to convince people in the throws of relationships with them to see the problems.

@redfishingirl - I agree, having married and divorced a narcissist, I can attest that it's very difficult to convince someone who's being controlled by them, it's not until you leave the relationship that you realize what happened to you. Unfortunately, Gabby didn't get that chance, they prey on her type of personality (care free, giving, sweet). I often covered up for my narcissist ex, and created the appearance of a good relationship, but that was not the case.

Thankfully I did get away, but it was very difficult, they break you down and make you think you are nothing without them, and that you cannot do anything right...and then you start to believe it, very sad. It's important for officers and everyone to school themselves on narcissists (they can be men or women)...and if you ever need to divorce one, find an attorney that has experience with their kind, as it's a hell of a ride. When I saw that police body cam, I could see a fragile and emotionally abused young woman, having experienced it myself. May Gabby's pure soul rest in peace, and her parents get the justice they so deserve.

I didn't say drink straight rainwater. You use water vine a still or many other survival water filter methods.

I understand, but I feel like you're underestimating the difficulty of the environment, jmo.

A while back I spent some time volunteering with the Cornell Labs attempt to rediscover the ivory-billed woodpecker. It entailed a couple of two-week stints searching in Carolina swamps that are very similar. It's hard to exaggerate how bad the mosquitoes are, even with repellent; there are so many around your face in a cloud that you breathe them in with every breath, they crawl inside your ears and up your nose to feed. If you are off-trail, you have to pay constant attention to the ground beneath you or you can end up hip-deep in thick mud in an instant. Hiking off-trail in this environment isn't just like strolling through a forest, it's hacking your way through thickets of underbrush where the ground turns to water without warning. Snakes were much less of a concern for us than wasps; brushing against low tree branches without looking first could mean disturbing a yellowjacket nest. Hiking for six hours in that environment left me, and even people much younger and fitter than me, exhausted and spent.

And that's just a day out. An overnight in that environment is tough because of the excessive heat and humidity, which makes you sweat through your clothing during the day and then leaves you damp and vulnerable when the temperature dips at night. This time of year in Florida it wouldn't get cool enough for BL to risk death from exposure, but he would be burning many more calories than usual to keep warm. And while there might be food to be foraged (you listed lots of options, but are we sure how many of them are available where he supposedly is? All Florida plants don't grow everywhere in Florida) foraging also involves constant movement and covering lots of ground, which would make him far more vulnerable to detection than staying put in one place. And if he does stay in one place (or even if he moves around) what does he do for shelter? If he brought a tent, putting it up is another risk in case it's detected by an air search. Building a shelter is difficult in a place where there's almost no dry ground and no good materials to build with. That rainwater he should be making a still for... how does he shelter himself from being thoroughly soaked by it, over and over? Again, even if it's not cold enough to die directly from exposure, surviving while wet is a tremendous drain on calories and health, especially if trying to do it just on forage.

This only my opinion from my own experience, nothing more. But I have known people who could survive for weeks without outside support in the conditions I describe above, and nothing about Brian Laundrie makes me think he is one of those people.

When dog referred to the pictures I thought maybe he was confused and thought the trail cam pictures from I think Alabama? Are from where LE are searching. IMO
I thought the same thing at first but coupled with the fact that they have spent a lot of time and money on their search of the preserve, I think it’s quite possible they have visual evidence he is there or was there, that they aren’t sharing. IMO

Thanks! I'm not familiar with those types of campers and I thought a third person would need to sleep on the floor as well. Yeah, I hardly doubt it was an actual camping trip and more like providing Brian with his escape.

IMO that camper would only be big enough for two unless someone slept on the floor. But it would be interesting to know if the FBI has verified this 3 day camping trip and were told where the family actually went!

I think it was Brian that wanted out. As he no longer believed they could make a career of it. Hence his no longer supporting of her blog, etc.

AND Gabby's fear he would abandon her...

I can imagine that the trip was not fun with the constant posing, looking for the best shots, the best videos, editing all day. It's one thing to hike. It's another to try to make money off a blog about it. I could see why it would be stressful.

So she left him with all her stuff? Including phone and debit card. How unusual.

And what an incredibly thing to have happen - a nefarious actor, who apparently. steals nothing <modsnip - no link for fact>. Wow. That's one for the true crime books.

Or did he take her phone and text Stan as well as Gabby's mom? Since LE already have those records, it's truly concerning that they aren't looking for a serial killer in WY. And not a single camera so far has picked up evidence of this person - who had to have a car, as he couldn't exactly trot behind their vehicle all the way to Spread Creek.'

And LE also has Brian's phone records. Why didn't he call Gabby to see what was up, if she just disappeared? Why don't his parents tell. Gabby's parents what. happened? Why is Brian the only POI?
This is pure gold.

My mom used to pop me on the thigh. It would whelp up in the shape of her hand and take several minutes to go away.
I remember rubbing my fingers over the raised areas, so maybe 20 min?
I was a very wild child, not claiming I didn't deserve to get popped! Lol
MOO

You didn't deserve to get popped.

Yes, apparently police wouldn't file a missing persons report initially, so maybe he asked for a welfare check. Then when police discovered she wasn't there he was able to file the report. Imo
For some reason her Dad wasn’t able to get NPPD to file a missing person report, so her Mom filed one in New York on the 11th.

WHERE IS BRIAN?

(I wrote this last night and tried to post it but the thread had been closed in the meantime)

But are any of these ideas practical right now?
It would be interesting to find out whether LE has BL's passport otherwise does he have a fake ID? Also would LE have checked whether BL left the country on or after September 11?
But which one of these destinations would be possible in September? I am Australian so I need your help to see if any of these destinations is possible.
MEXICO?
If I was BL, I would go to Mexico as my first choice. But how would BL get to Mexico?
My guess is that B's parents could have known on 10th September what was going to happen on 11th September, so they could have driven B to a city in the US near the Mexican border. It takes about 25 hours to drive there. With three drivers, they could have driven non-stop. The camper would have been packed with food and drinks plus more for B when he got there.
He could be staying in a hostel or Airbnb there. Then the parents drove back home another 25 hours or so with two drivers non-stop. The driving time would have been about 50 hours. They could have given B enough cash to live on as well and used cash to buy gas. Is it possible to pay for gas with cash?
However, the land border between Mexico and the United States is closed for nonessential travel through at least October 21. However, air travel is allowed. American travelers should remember they will need a negative Covid-19 test taken 72 hours or less before travel to return to the US but do they need one to enter Mexico by air? Otherwise, could he have flown to Mexico on 11th September with his parents driving him to an airport and LE have not checked that yet?
BAHAMAS OR CUBA?
This would be my second choice. I guess if you have enough money, you could pay someone to take you there by sea and you could land there illegally? But you would need cash to live on and for bribes.
HIDE ON A BOAT SOMEWHERE?
But when provisions run out, you need someone to do the shopping or have it delivered in a different name or catch fish. Do BL's parents own a boat?
HIDE IN ONE OF HIS FAMILY'S APARTMENTS OR AN EMPTY ONE?
I read this his parents own real estate so is BL hiding in one of them or has he found an empty one before the snowbirds arrive? Ghislaine Maxwell had her food delivered to her in another
name.
APPALACHIAN TRAIL?
This is an area that BL was familiar with. So perhaps BL's parents drove him there on 11th September. This is where Chris McDonough of the Interview Room suggested recently.
Very few people think that BL is where they are currently looking now in the Carlton Reserve - alive or dead. If he really wanted to commit suicide, he could have already done that much earlier. The parents and the lawyer are acting as if BL is still alive.
Do LE have access to BL's parents' bank accounts? I think if they could do a forensic analysis of them, LE would be able to get some answers.
Where do you think BL could be? I have simply put together most of the places that have been suggested on these threads.

This is a well thought out post.
As far as where he could be I'm afraid the answer is - anywhere.
I think limiting the idea that he "can't survive" anywhere is short sighted. As is "he can't get into XYZ country". IMO, the better question to ask is where would he be most likely to go.

And that's somewhere familiar IMO. So the Appalachian Mountains would come close to the top of my list as well as any foreign countries that he's been to. I noticed on GP's family images that she's been out of the country quite a bit. I wonder if her and BL ever went somewhere out of country. I'd be looking at that place as my top choice.

I thought there was a question as to which weekend they were gone. And to my knowledge no one saw him after the camping trip.

No. He stalks off from campsite because they’ve been fighting. When he returns, she’s gone. She had told him she’s leaving. <modsnip> So he jumps into van snd heads home. Unaware that she is dead 200 yards from van.

It’s not a likely scenario, IMo, but MOO, possible. He clearly left the campsite alone as he was found and given a ride going back to it at least twice.

Unless there is some evidence that can point directly to BL as the one who killed GP, there are such possible scenarios. That’s what the fed prosecutor has to prepare for

That's true. I'm thinking that using her money like that was an indication he knew she was dead -- unless he had a history of going in her accounts and spending over $1,000. Of course, that is assuming they are her accounts.

But how does your igloo stay frozen then? :-)

And a hand print on her arm that shows while she’s sitting in the back of the cruiser.
Why are we doing this? She was murdered.

  • #1,039
I also heard another person in an interview. Cant remember who he was affiliated with but said BL was last seen on foot. Not sure if this was a slip of something that wasnt yet released.
Wait, what? Is he referring to that news footage (thermal, flir, infra red, or something) where we saw the person walking in the lower right quadrant? Or something we, or I, haven’t seen yet?

  • #1,040
Isn't it possible he's hiding in plain sight, living on the street or in a homeless camp. Not very likely anyone who is homeless on the street or living in a camp would have a clue who he is and someone could be leaving supplies for him there.
MOO
