Well I'll be honest, I have had the same DMV photo since I was in my early 20's thats at least 10+ years ago. Maybe he wanted a new pic of his dreads? lol I wonder when he started growing those?

I was thinking hair weaves? Night before, short hair - day of photo, weaves - day after DMV photo, short hair again... kwim? :moo:

Virginia State Police spokeswoman said in an email late Sunday that State Police officers were conducing "surveillance" of the vehicle at the time but did not pursue Matthew.

Longo said investigators were "overtly" trailing Matthew on Saturday and tracked him to a home in Albermarle County. Longo said Matthew then drove away from the home at a high rate of speed.

Ok ok everyone calm down. It was a genuine mistake. I got my coverts and overts mixed up. I stand well and truly corrected.

Thank you!! I tagged the post number for this because this is exactly what I need to be referencing.

<modsnip>

I would like to know what direction JLM was traveling when he evaded police at a high rate of speed.....for example if he was headed towards I-64 its possible he's headed to the Hampton Roads area and familiar surroundings.
Or Richmond...DC, Phily, NY...anywhere from I95 to 70W...but my money's on somewhere in good ol Virginny.

Just FYI, I have to drive all over NOVA for work and over a distance from Rt 50 S Arlington to Fairfax Circle and back passed the area of the 2005 Rape then towards I495. In that 16 mile route through the middle of Fairfax County I didn't see a single older model Nissan Sentra and I saw less than 10 light blue cars. None of the blue cars were Nissans. That car will stand out up here if people keep their eyes open. But, my guess is he will ditch that car and get something entirely different.

FBI says MH suspect was 6' tall. http://www.fbi.gov/news/stories/201...an-harrington-killer/morgan-harrington_060412

Important question: Does anyone know if this new arrest warrant allows them to get DNA? Since they have MH suspect DNA on file, it seems they would then race to try to get a match. If they do, Hannah's case will take on a wildly different turn and nationwide manhunt, very quickly :(

(and how long does DNA take??)

I highly doubt those the the same person for one reason . JLM is a very big person , football lineman , that would be a very distinguishable feature.

6'2 270 is a big person and I am sure that would have been noted.

I'd be really surprised if they were allowed to take DNA for reckless driving

Apparently it was a high enough rate of speed that the surveilling officers called off the pursuit for their own safety and the safety of others on the road. It had to be a heck of alot faster than 35 mph.

did Longo say if the LE cars were "marked" cars...if not maybe Matthews thought it was a "lynch mob" looking to do him harm..especially when his name was released by LE

I still cannot believe they didn't chase after him and catch him. If they believe he had something to do with the disappearance than surely the rest of us feel safe with him on the loose.
What is family saying? Do they know where he is moving to? Have police even questioned them? 2 specific items? Was anyone around to see? How large were the evidence bags? Is there a press conference scheduled?

no they cannot get a dna sample from him with a reckless driving warrant.

I don't know if this has been linked or not.

If it has I apologize.

Charlottesville police have released a wanted poster in their search for Jesse "LJ" Matthew, the person they say was last seen with missing Northern Virginia native Hannah Graham.

Matthew, 32, was last seen speeding away from state police troopers Saturday after showing up at the Charlottesville police station. He left without talking to detectives after asking for a lawyer, police Chief Timothy Longo said Sunday.
He is wanted for two counts of reckless driving, and is possibly using his sister's light blue Nissan Sentra with Virginia license plate VAC-4575.

Police say Matthew has associations to the D.C. area, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New York.

it expires on your birthday every 5 years.
I got a new VA license in 2011 and it expires in 2019, on my birthday. It is always on your birthday in VA.

Perhaps he lost his license and needed to replace it? Hmm....

I doubt it. I think that would have been mentioned by Longo since JM appeared at the police station after the photo day. Of course, he could have short hair now ...

Not if it is really for traffic.
DNA can take a day or two...or much longer. No set time, usually. But it CAN be done in a day or two.

Charlottesville police say they are awaiting forensic lab results today after searches of Matthew's apartment and car. The chief has said police are aware of the similarities between the disappearance of Graham, an 18-year-old West Potomac High School graduate and University of Virginia student, and the 2009 murder of 20-year-old Morgan Harrington, who disappeared at a concert in Charlottesville.

Investigators have matched DNA in the Harrington case to an unsolved rape in Fairfax city in 2005. The suspect in that case matches Matthew's description. Click here for the FBI's composite sketch.
