Plus the cell phone found without the battery.... and whatever she said at the scene seems to be leading them to think this was a deliberate act as well...

Yes, absolutely

The type and year car Jessica was driving was recalled years ago for potential fuel leak in engine causing fires. This was a 2003 Kia Rio. Is LE saying no accelerant was used or are they denying it was poured on Jessica? Thanks.

Right now, I think we're back at square one as far as information. But, according to the People magazine interview with Jessica's father, she gave a first name only. IF that information is accurate, and the name was a common one, that could explain why there's been no arrest. I think it's also quite possible that her words were unintelligible, sadly, and there is a disagreement over what she said. JMO
Before she died, he [Jessica's father] says, Jessica told authorities the first name of the person who did it.

"I don't know the name she told," he says.

Not so sure about relying on People Magazine....their article states that Courtland is in Tennessee. LOL Or, it did when I read it this morning. JMO

Exactly. That's why I typed "IF" in caps. lol

sorry if this was all ready posted.

The volunteer fire department that responded to her car blaze Saturday night got there quickly because it was at another call a couple of miles away, said John Champion, district attorney for Mississippi’s 17th Circuit.

When firefighters arrived at the scene near Courtland, Mississippi, Chambers approached one of them and spoke. She was not on fire, as has been widely reported, the prosecutor said.

“I didn’t see her at first,” one of the firefighters told The Panolian.

Near the burning car was a burned body, more dead than alive but alive nonetheless. Though she was not recognizable, the firefighters quickly discovered they knew who she was.

Interesting that they said there is very little street chatter in light of all the rumors and info. her friends are sharing on social media.

In a small town, one of your young people gets burned alive, and there's no chatter on the streets? I ain't buying it. unles it is a case of they know who did it, and are afraid to before an arrest

She was not on fire anymore when they got there, but she was burnt now wasn't she? This is horrible.

What was his relation to Jessica? Is this her ex?

Not her ex to the best of my knowledge. He didn't seem to even know why they held him for [48?] hours. Or, how he is connected since he is a bit older. He seemed honest IMO.

Authorities piece together final hours of Jessica Chambers

Lisa Chambers said Wednesday Jessica was able to give law enforcement "a few names" before her death.

Champion said local and state investigators have "somewhat" been able to determine where Chambers went once she left the gas station. With that information, authorities are "trying to narrow down" who may have been with her. "I feel like it's something we're going to solve," Champion said. "It could be in the next five minutes, five months or five years. You just don't know."

Here is an article that shows a different photo of Jessica and it also shows her burned out vehicle. :(

Is there a map somewhere that shows where her home was, where the gas station is, and where she was found?

Ocean's article states the car was found on Herron Road near Hwy 51:

Authorities say that Jessica was found burning near her car that was also engulfed in flames. A passerby called the Panola County sheriff’s office about the burning car along Herron Road, near Highway 51 in Courtland.

This article also mentions Herron Rd.:

It happened on Herron Road near Courtland, Miss., where investigators say Chambers was set on fire inside her car.

If that information is correct, here is a map of the area:

It looks like a desolate area. I noted that there is a Herron St. closer to Highway 51.

eta: I just now saw Bessie's map.

Just popping on,
Seeing that a son in the family died in a car accident, several years ago, and that J's father is a mechanic, could there be any connection to someone with a grudge due to a previous accident?

I certainly wasn't expecting to read that!

Thank you, bessie, for the great map. I wonder if she intended to clean her car, where the nearest car coin vacuum cleaner would have been if there was one around? Could somebody have slipped into her car then, if all she did, as she had told her mom she would, was pull over somewhere well lit with a just garbage can even to clean her car, between those two points? Could it have been a thing where whomever did this may have wanted her pin number or something and was using a fire accelerant as a weapon of sorts? Where's the nearest bank or ATM?
