While San Carlos Park has some very nice areas... there are also some very shady areas. There are a lot of registered sex offenders within that small area. It doesn't say what time she went missing, but the last time she was seen was at was 2:00am.

Yes, so many rsos in that area. There are 7 just within 1 mile!
(26 within 2 miles, 37 within 3 miles, the list goes on...not to mention the ones not even listed! Scary to think how many possible predators walk amongst us freely, breathing the same air.)

I know everyone acts differently when under stress but this was a strange interview. Where was the outcry for Diana? His concern seemed centered around getting in the house & getting things for his baby. Can't exactly pinpoint it but my hinky meter was definitely pinged.

http://www.news-press.com/story/news/2016/05/30/missing-girls-mother-waits/85157288/

Hernandez last saw Diana at 2 a.m. Saturday, when she went to the bathroom. At eight months pregnant, that's part of her routine. By 7 a.m., she peeked in at Diana's bed, and couldn't find her.

With an artistic bent, Diana uses her mother's phone to do Google searches for pictures. Hernandez said the previous three days, Diana was searching and drawing ponies.

Hernandez said the only thing out of character was an incident two months ago, when Diana brought home a paper inviting her to a classmates's home. With no phone number or addresses, Hernandez told her she couldn't go. Diana tore the paper to pieces.

I'm not sure why I can't stop myself from clicking on the threads of young children. They are often so gut wrenching. I want this baby home, looking at ponies and drawing them.

The only good thing is that if the timeline is accurate, it is tight- from 2am until 7am. That would not be a high traffic time, so hopefully they can check cameras and cell phone movement in the area.

EDIT---- Wait!! Which is it. It actually kind of matters:

Martinez said Diana Alvarez was last seen by a sister when the sister went to the bathroom Sunday morning.

I agree. I don't want to judge because stressful situations fry your brain but it seemed as though he sobbed because he couldn't get his stuff. He did not appeal for her safe return. Instead he implored us to go ahead and ask his neighbor's what a good family man he is.

I dont feel very good about this at all.

I know people's hinky meters are pinging, there could be parts of the interview that have not been included, I know we see so much family related crime here, but due to the high crime area, the rsos, the circumstances (presumably missing from her bedroom and her blanket also missing), the shades of Jenise, Polly and others, I am leaning towards a classic predatorial child abduction. In case the family is reading here I am not going to speculate further and will wait for LE to comment, but I'll eat dirt if the parents turn out to be involved (based on the lack of information re this from LE at this point). Of course anything is possible right now and I respect everyones' opinions! JMO.

Where are you Diana? I think some dirt bag took you. Give us a sign!

:praying:

ETA: One note of interest, LE has not (yet) stated that there could be a danger to the community, to "remain vigilant", as we often see in known abductions.

As the good sleuthers everyone here is, it only takes a little bit of looking around to find out why "it's all about me" sometimes.

Fort Myers missing girl's mother waits during search

"Rita Hernandez wipes her face with a napkin, the humidity taking its toll as she sits under a tree, anxiously awaiting word of her daughter, Diana Alvarez, 9. Diana has been missing for more than 31 hours.

The Lee County Sheriff's Department has set up a temporary headquarters a block away, taking up three full lanes of parking spaces at the Publix, near the south Fort Myers home on Unique Circle. Deputies searched the area with bloodhounds, and banned the family members from their home."

What a strange interview. It was basically all about him. He didn't do anything, they're a good family, he doesn't have any thing (possessions from inside the trailer) doesn't understand why he can't go inside.

I would think, if my child was missing for over 24 hours my trust and dependency would be with the LE. Of course they need to process the home, someone came in and took her (?) right? Not even a plea or concern for his baby. Hate to judge, but something ain't right here. (IMO)

Im sure the LE will figure this out. When was the last time Diana was seen by someone outside of the family?

As the good sleuthers everyone here is, it only takes a little bit of looking around to find out why "it's all about me" sometimes.

I've been looking, hadn't found anything yet due to many similar names, but while he has not been named as a POI, I think that if there are any violent criminal charges since his name is mentioned in msm it can be posted? Not sure...

Maybe you guys are right....I always try to give the family the benefit of the doubt and not read too much into certain things...sigh...

As she started looking around the trailer, with Diana's younger siblings, she yelled at Jimenez to call the police.

Hernandez said she didn't know where Diana could possibly be; she has never spent the night away from her mother. They've lived at the trailer park for two years.

"All she wants, she wants her to be back home already," Neri Jimenez said."

So conflicting information.
Did the mum or the sister see her at 2am?

"Her step-father was upset as he talked about the deputies restricting the family's access to their home.

"We are a good family," he said. "And all my neighbors, they can tell how we are."

Hernandez said Diana typically played in front of the house, going no farther than each corner. Neighbors said she was attentive to her three younger siblings and her disappearance is out of character."

So, we're the 3 younger siblings also in her bedroom that night?

I suspect LE is just being very thorough and that makes me feel more confident they will find this little gal. I am thrilled to see this case getting more coverage now.

For some reason this just calmed me a bit. I agree. Maybe they are just covering all their bases.

I've seen it reported that Diana's sister saw her at 0200 and also that her mother saw her at 0200. MSM error perhaps

Interesting what "step-dad" is concerned about. Not accusing, just found it weird.

Thanks for posting. I don't like this case. :(

BBM: I'm also trying to figure out the family dynamic here. Is Diana the oldest child or is there an older sister? Do they all share a room? Are the other children old enough to be of help to LE. Did they see her leave? Did they see anyone else in the home?
