On January 23 a female schoolmate saw TC kiss ET on the lips in the classroom with TC's grandchild in the room "Cummins was inside his classroom after school Jan. 23 with his grandson and Thomas, the girl told family members, when she walked in and inexplicably saw them kissing. Cummins and Thomas were sitting side by side in chairs and kissed on the lips as the grandchild, who also attends Culleoka, was using one of the classroom's computers."

January 24th the female student confronted TC about the kiss with another student. TC told the students he was a father figure to ET and she was a "close and best friend". "The 12-year-old seventh-grader went to Cummins the morning of Jan. 24 for an explanation before reporting him, the family said. She wanted to know the nature of his relationship with Thomas."

They have a completely different dialect, and many other things that make these communities different aside from no electricity and the way they dress. I don't think it's possible for them to do this.

I agree. I don't see any groups being very welcoming. He wouldn't be trusted and would stand out like a sore thumb with a young girl along. I would hope if they did approach any groups though that someone would report them. With a reward there is always that possibility.

Pedophilia used to refer only to sex attraction/activity with children prior to puberty. Nowadays, it is term so frequently used, I don't know if it is as strictly defined as it used to be.

I think at this point anything is possible. I don't think this idea is so outlandish. I have known Amish people in the past through friends and they do help others in need.
 
The bottom line is that in this country it is illegal on both a federal and state level to take someone's minor child without the permission of the child's parents. Period.

I don't understand why you are still arguing about the details of this twelve threads in.

Beyond that, many of us are frightened for Elizabeth's safety at the hands of someone we believe to be a predator. He's larger and stronger and has weapons. IMHO.

I don't see TC latching onto any certain sect or group for protection because the more relationships he has to encounter the more risk someone would catch on to their "oddness" and become suspicious. I think he could easily be hiding ET away, (I lived on the road for three years, traveling from state to state. Lots of weekly and bi-weekly motel rentals which were much more affordable than rent) keeping her hidden out of view for the most part. He would go out to get the necessary items or foods. I'm sure they have changed their looks and I believe they disposed of the Rogue.

I think they are less suspicious if they travel at night, on busy interstates. Easy to pull off in truck stops or the famous walmart parking lots. TC could easily check into a room in the middle of the night and no one ever has to see ET. It is sketchy but it is a nomadic lifestyle. The people they are likely to run into wouldn't be the people who would be paying much attention to them. Bigger cities-where they just won't stand out.

Was just thinking: aside from the already horrific act of abandoning his wife, children, and grandchildren, TC also made the decision to do this to his elderly parents. To put it bluntly, they're going to need some form of care one day (if they don't already) and will eventually pass. He intends to not be at their side in their time of need nor be present at their funerals. All because he preferred to kidnap a fifteen year old to fulfill his selfish needs. And Tad's parents are going to pass knowing that their own child abandoned them for the purposes of exploiting someone else's child.

Oh my God, he truly is a monster. :mad:

While traveling on the road those three years, I happened to run into a border patrol checkpoint on I-10 headed from Arizona across Texas. I may have been in New Mexico. Anyways this was 16-17 years ago so I don't know if they still exist but the boarder patrol actually went through my van. I must have been suspicious. Anyway, they told me where not to go into the next town or those in the area because of the danger. I think it was drug running.
I found this so unbelievable that we had border patrol checkpoints in the US. I had been to Mexico plenty of times and our family took frequent road trips-I was unaware this was happening.
So, my question is...Do we still have those border checkpoints along those mexican states?
