GUILTY CO - Richard & Mayumi Heene charged in Balloon Boy Hoax, Fort Collins, 2009 - #2

Thanks, I don't know about assault but it's at least a battery. Do you know if this was the first or second show? Did the person stay after that? I don't watch the show.

TP was first show, she didn't stay. camera man had to pull him off.

Milk was the second....producers had to get in the middle....she stayed.

I just luv how he calls himself a science detective and has only a high school education. So... I'm a librarian because I work in a library and like reading -- even though I don't have a degree. Hahaha...

I said this some time back , some detective he launches a balloon and causes a national security breach and can't find his own kid in his own house in Falcons favorite hiding place?

Pull him off, get in the middle in that case sounds like an assault to me? Even though there is a contract this lady should sue, because I think the show let things go to far. I like nice people, I don't deal with or enjoy the Jerry Springer mentality. JMO

What comes to mind with me is the Jenny Jones case. Somebody killed himself because he told another man on the show he had a crush on him. The courts found the show and the network responsible and the dead mans family won an enormous amount of money. I think they're pulling the show because they were negligent in letting this family to come back on a second time with their extremely bad behavior, and with their inadequate background check.
A bit OT...the snipped reminds me of the case above:
I remember that case because I was lucky enough to get into that courthouse during the trial.

I will always remember that day as if it happened yesterday. We watch TV (and these strange cases) as the news gives us more information, almost like it is just a show, but the moment you find yourself sitting in that courtroom watching it with your own eyes, things change a bit.
A relative of mine worked at the courthouse and on the day Jenny Jones was to sit on the stand, I got the call. "I can get you in today if you hurry." I was told. Hours later my friend, the relative and I were going up in the elevator when the doors opened up to some one in a Halloween custom.(Head to toe. It was Oct 31st) The 3 of us did not say a word as the guard walked this person in and out on the floor that the case was being held. My friend and I looked straight ahead until the we heard a female voice whisper "thanks".
The elevator doors opened up to a sea of police/guards.
When the guard guided the costumed person to the left,(there was a side door to the courtroom that way.) we went to the right. Where the hallway was full of reporters and cameras trying to see who was coming out of the elevator and asking "Has anyone even seen Ms Jones today? Are they sure she is to be on the stand?"
We were the only "non" workers to be next to the mystery person. The hallway of reporters and camera men never saw Ms. Jones walk into the court room....yet she was on the stand that day.
Before some one spats about employees.... It was an open court. My relative just knew that if I did not show up by a certain time, my friend and I would not get a seat. The only favor we got was riding up that elevator and meeting an anchor from CourtTv. Simply because that person was in the hallway being kind.

This is a REAL balloon boy story from 1969. Just thought you might find it interesting...

I wonder if Heene is aware Bill Nye the Science Guy already is the new Mr. Wizard?

Dear God, this guy is wwaaayyy more successful than he should be. I can't believe the garbage he was able to put out there. Boxter? :loser:

The "Box Time" video and Heene's storm-chasing, UFO-hunting exploits were featured 10 years ago on FlashNews, a wire service that dubbed Heene "The Bob Vila of Cardboard Boxes," a moniker that editors say he heartily embraced.
"He saw them as toys for kids whose parents couldn't afford toys," said former FlashNews editor David Moye, who provided the tapes to AOL.
"It was probably in pretty bad taste, but it didn't at all register with him. He's a guy who loves publicity."

There's an understatement.

I played with boxes, I had an imagination, it wasn't rocket science to come up with stuff.

That's a good theory. BTW, it was a murder; http://www.findadeath.com/Deceased/a/scottamedure/scott_amedure.htm

Yeah, when I watched the clips I'd posted I didn't realize it was that bad.

I wonder if and when we will hear more about what will happen to the family. As...punishment and if someone will come in and remove the children.
Hope if so, they can go to a close friend or relative.

It wasn't a suicide, it was a murder. The surprise recipient of the "crush" felt angry and deceived that it was a gay guy with a crush on him, not a female, and he was homophobic, so he went out and murdered the gay guy. I remember this case well... Jenny Jones had ambushed the guy and made him think it was a woman who wanted him.

911 Domestic Disturbance call
http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2009/10/balloon-boy-911-domestic-disturbance-call-and-report

Horrible acting and "Nobodies paying attention to me." line is prophetic.

"It was probably in pretty bad taste, but it didn't at all register with him. He's a guy who loves publicity."

Heene is the king of bad taste -- it is his signature behavior. On minute he has his "education" kiddie videos and then the nasty video of his kids' rap song. You have to wonder how he doesn't know the two don't exactly work well together.

I wonder if and when we will hear more about what will happen to the family. As...punishment and if someone will come in and remove the children.
Hope if so, they can go to a close friend or relative.

NG is giving Ric the riot act right now. I also hope if the children are taken away they are not split up and find a family surrounded by love and support.

I got this text today....just wanted to share a laugh!

I'm glad they found the "balloon boy' on the ground. I thought Michael Jackson was in Heaven ordering takeout!

After trying to make some sense of all the bits and pieces of FYI that has been released I have some questions.

--How is it possible if all this chaos was going on in the home that a teacher or school official didn't feel that a referral to CPS was warranted?

It sounds like there were extreme financial problems, psychological problems and so much more.

I will be interested also in hearing if there were complaints made.
Were people intimidated by dad so nothing was ever said?
Do any of the boys have friends?

The manager of the parking lot of the building in Santa Monica where Richard Heene is reported to have worked talks to ET about the father of the so-called "Balloon Boy," a man he calls a "pretty crazy guy."

http://www.etonline.com/gallery/2009/10/79984/

The guy was a little hard to understand, but did I hear it right, Richard pushed some customer's head against a wall?

First show, but the woman was not the wife, she was a friend of the Heene's. Nice way to treat your friends, huh?

Does anyone think he's basically a good guy who got carried away (excuse the pun) with his dreams, ambition and ego?

I did think that originally-until I watched all the RadarOnline videos posted above, and read about his previous arrest, assault with a deadly weapon (gun), and all the other issues of violence. Now, I just pretty much think he's a train wreck waiting to happen. I hope his wife and kids get out before he explodes.

Not laughing...not funny at ALL.
