Ronald Speaks from Jail #1

I wonder if anyone has transcribed Ron's jailhouse interview? Did he use the words "when I was captured" in the interview?

And what about the, "I don't know nothing about Haleigh's disappearance, or nothing else" statement? What is the nothing else?

"Captured, or apprehended, or whatever they want to call it" were his words. He's a walking thesaurus. May I suggest additionally, "arrested" and "caught redhanded".

Bits and pieces of the interview are transcribed here:
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1001/27/ng.01.html

I don't know how accurate it is, at least it seems to have left out "accused of doing, or whatever" in one of the statements.

RONALD CUMMINGS, HALEIGH`S FATHER: It`s hard to believe that she don`t know more, but it`s also hard to believe that if she did know more, she ain`t already talked, you know, especially if they got her locked up like they got me, man.

CUMMINGS: This is a setback in my life that`ll -- when I come out, will remind me, you know, what I should be doing and not what I was doing, or whatever.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

I don`t care if they get me with unjustifiable homicide. I don`t care. If I find out what happened to my young`un, it doesn`t matter to me. It`ll be -- it`ll be worth life without parole or the death penalty or whatever.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Have they asked you about Haleigh yet?

CUMMINGS: Yes.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What -- what -- when was that?

CUMMINGS: Wednesday, right after they captured me, or apprehended me, or whatever they want to call it.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: OK. What did they -- what happened?

CUMMINGS: Nothing. They just told me that their main focus was not on putting me in jail but finding Haleigh. They didn`t really question me, man. They already know that I don`t know nothing about Haleigh`s disappearance...

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Right. Right.

CUMMINGS: ... or otherwise I would have already been in DOC.

I mean, the 911 call -- I haven`t changed my mind about the 911 call since the minute it was made.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: OK.

CUMMINGS: That still remains that it don`t matter, 40, 50 years from now, if I find out whoever done it before they do, you know, whatever might be done, whether they took Haleigh because they lost a child or whatever the case might be, you know. Yes, if I find out who or however, there`s two people, three people, whatever did it, whatever took my daughter wherever, then when I find out, if I find out before the police, it`s going to be done for them, done dealing. I`ll have satisfaction knowing that I got the person who stole my daughter from me.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: And what would you do? I mean...

CUMMINGS: With what?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: With that person?

CUMMINGS: Kill them! Same thing I said on the 911 call.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: OK. Well, I just want to make sure...

CUMMINGS: I`m telling you, I ain`t changed my mind. Not a bit.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Well, what did they ask you about her, or what did they say to you, just that they -- I mean, is that all they said?

CUMMINGS: Yes. That`s it.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: So they haven`t questioned you or asked you if you found out anything from Misty or found out anything from anybody else or...

CUMMINGS: No.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Did they...

CUMMINGS: They know I haven`t found out anything, Dana. They know I haven`t because they know that they`d be the first ones to know. I wouldn`t call them or nothing else, they would be notified probably by the news media or somebody, you know, reporting a homicide. So they already know that I haven`t found out anything. They don`t have to ask me a dumb question like that.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Because you`re saying that if you found out, you`d do what you think you need to do and they`d find out about that.

CUMMINGS: Yes.

CUMMINGS: It`s hard to believe that she don`t know more, but it`s also hard to believe that if she did no more, she ain`t already talked, you know, especially if they got her locked up like they got me, man, because this (EXPLETIVE DELETED) will drive you crazy. This place ain`t but the size of two sheets of plywood.

I want my family to know I love them, my girlfriend to know I love her, my kids to know I love them, Haleigh to know I`ll never give up on her, and that this is a setback in my life that`ll, when I come out, will remind me, you know, what I -- what I should be -- should be doing or not what I was doing or whatever -- whatever, you know, what I`m being accused of doing.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What`s your relationship with Misty?

CUMMINGS: There really isn`t a relationship, you know, just, I guess, ex-wife-slash-friend.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: OK. OK. And you have a girlfriend?

CUMMINGS: Yes.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Who`s that?

CUMMINGS: I`d rather not say. But yes, I do have a girlfriend.

...

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: Who told you that? I mean, was it somebody you.

RONALD CUMMINGS, FATHER OF MISSING 5-YR-OLD HALEIGH CUMMINGS: I don`t know who it was.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: It wasn`t any of the detectives you knew?

CUMMINGS: No.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: They haven`t -- but they haven`t come to you and said, OK, Ron, let`s sit down and talk about what you heard from Misty or what you heard from anybody else outside. Now that you`re in jail, we got you here, you know, you might as well tell us everything you know.

CUMMINGS: Nope.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: They haven`t done that.

CUMMINGS: No, because they already know that. They all know. If I found before them, they`ll know. I mean they won`t have to question me. They know that. Otherwise, I`m sure they would have already sat me down and questioned me hour upon hour upon hour, but they already know the answers does not lie with me and the answer to the question that you`re asking me is yes. It`ll be justifiable homicide.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: And you`re mad.

CUMMINGS: Yes, I mean, I don`t care. I don`t care if they get me with unjustifiable homicide. I don`t care. If I find out what happened to my young, it doesn`t matter to me. It`ll be worth life without parole or the death penalty or whatever.

CUMMINGS: No TV. No radio. No nothing, man. I got a telephone through the doorway. That`s it. A toilet, a sink and a bed.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: You haven`t heard anything about Misty? They certainly aren`t going to let you talk to her.

CUMMINGS: Nope. I have heard that her and Tommy`s bond were both reduced.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: They told you her bond is reduced?

CUMMINGS: Yes, her bond was reduced to $150,000 and Tommy`s bond was reduced to $7,500.

Ron wasn't talking about Haleigh as a homicide case; he's suggesting that LE will find out that Ron found out what happened to Haleigh because someone else would be reporting a homicide (Ron killing whoever did it). I guess he believes only he can judge that person he believes harmed Haleigh.

BBM..Thats what I thought too...

Yet, he was quick to display a sign on his vehicle that reads...

ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE ME....JMO

Yep and after a year of saying it there is no way it would be justifiable, it will be 1st degree murder.

He's not only telling his version of what happened, he's also conjuring up why and how many:

CUMMINGS: That still remains. That it don`t matter 40, 50 years from now, if I find whoever done it before they do, you know, whatever might be done whether they took Haleigh because they lost a child or whatever the case might be, you know -- yes. CUMMINGS: Yes, her bond was reduced to $150,000 and Tommy`s bond was reduced to $7,500.

This is pretty key IMO someone led Ron to believe that bonds were drastically reduced. Who? Was it his mother because she didn't know how to read the jail bond off of the websites? Or did someone else slip this information to Ron. Regardless it appears he was worried that their bond was lowered.

I never thought of these threats like that but he's actually trying to give himself another alibi here. I don't know anything about Haleigh being gone because I would kill whoever and because LE haven't got a call that Ron Cummings killed a man it means he doesn't know anything.

But what is that supposed to prove? I'm sure there are some unsolved homicides in Florida so he already could have killed the perp for all we know. Maybe they were two or three people who had lost a child or whatever and now they're dead? And anybody who did something bad to their child can safely threaten to do the perp in and they don't have to worry that a kidnapper who still has their kid alive would freak out hearing the threats and kill the child.

I think for the first time we are really hearing the un stoned, not baked, reality setting in RC. And I think he is stumbling all over himself. If you read between the lines. He is cooking his own goose....

I worked in suicide prevention after losing a very close loved one to suicide. So I would never say never or dismiss the possibility but I tend to agree w you--he does not seem likely to turn the anger inward or direct it at himself. He has a very high opinion of himself, and I think even to get depressed, you gotta be honest w at least yourself about your feelings... not likely IMO.

:parrot:

I too had the same thing happen in my life. It still stings.

CUMMINGS: "That still remains that it don`t matter, 40, 50 years from now, if I find out whoever done it before they do, you know, whatever might be done, whether they took Haleigh because they lost a child or whatever the case might be, you know. A simple "I'll kill whoever is responsible for Haleigh's disappearance" would have done the trick. Why does he need to use so many words to get one point across ? Why is he so nervous talking about this subject ?

He's painting a picture. He wants to get across that Haleigh is gone because she was stolen by maybe two or three people who may have done it because they lost a child or whatever and not because of anything that happened in his own household. He's trying to make this a stranger abduction although LE said they don't think so, and although it doesn't explain Misty's inconsistencies in any way. You'd think that since he claims to be worried that Misty is not telling everything he'd have considered having to kill her too but he's not even mentioning Misty here. IMO he wouldn't dare make threats about her because he still needs her to keep her trap shut about something. And it is interesting that he's not talking about pedophiles and child pornographers and serial child killers either, although that worry would be the first and foremost in most parents' minds, I'd think. I mean, if a couple who lost their child took my child to replace the dead one I would obviously be devastated losing her but that would be one of the better options anyway, since they would presumably take care of her and let her grow and live.

He is also making it all about him. He'd get the satisfaction of being the Avenger because HIS daughter was stolen. But just for the sake of argument, suppose that Haleigh was really stolen by a couple who had lost a child. A terrible thing to do, and they ought to go to jail for sure. But suppose that Haleigh grew up with them and they treated her well she might learn to love them and forget where she came from, think of them as her adoptive parents or something, and 40 to 50 years from now, she might not be happy about it if Ron Cummings came and killed what she thought of as her family.

Search, the devil is in those details, huh? The more he talks the stupider he sounds...such an accomplished liar should know that to keep embellishing a story with idiotic details is a sure fire way to back yourself into a corner.:D

My guess is that he's so skeered now that his mouth 'runneth' over. ;)

Oh Ronald ..Time is not on your side anymore..the end is near....WHERE IS HALEIGH?

And what does the 40 or 50 years comment mean ? He sure is giving himself a lot of time to catch whoever "took" Haleigh. I guess he's a "long range goal" type of guy.
