Sandusky (and Dorothy) Future

If Dottie questions herself and what she realized wouldn't it follow that she would have to admit what went on in her basement and what she ignored like the scream of a boy being raped by her husband?

She would have to admit she is an accomplice and as guilty as her husband!

She won't do that she will live in denial. If she was smart or had any good friends giving her advice she would leave Penn State and go live a quiet life and ask for forgiveness.

If she admitted she knew would she be charged as a accomplice or aiding and abetting?

The remainder of her life will not be the life she once knew and the coat tails she came in on are in jail for the remainder of his natural life. She is in a prison of her own.

Great points!

There could be consequences for her inaction if she were to admit she knew. Perhaps she is just towing the Sandusky line to save her own hide.

I'm just floored by the amount of vitriol she reeks in that letter. Blame the children...

You are right CarolinaMoon Dottie COULD be charged - I said would be. Tells you what I believe should happen to her.

Guess Dottie is still in one of the stages of grief over her life. Sometime, and we probably won't know when, Dottie may be see the light.

Her blaming the victims is troubling but if we believe she knew what her husband was doing - she has probably been rationalizing what he has been doing for 30+ years. Vile and disgusting isn't it?

Former Second Mile camper sues alleging Sandusky abuse
October 16, 2012 4:22 pm

By Moriah Balingit / Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
A 22-year-old man who claims Jerry Sandusky molested him while swimming at a Second Mile summer camp filed suit Monday in federal court in Scranton against the former Nittany Lions assistant football coach, Penn State University, Second Mile and a number of other figures in the center of the abuse scandal.

The man, called "John Doe" in the lawsuit, claims all played a hand in allowing the abuse to occur and all are partially responsible for the abuse he claims he suffered in 2005.

"All ... engaged in a cover-up that led to severe and permanent emotional and other injuries suffered by the plaintiff," according to the lawsuit.

In the lawsuit, the man alleges he was referred to the Second Mile Summer Challenge by Edgewater Psychiatric Center, also named in the lawsuit.

The man said in the summer of 2005, when he was 14, Sandusky touched him inappropriately while he was swimming at camp.

"Doe claims that Edgewater referred him to Second Mile "for a number of years to participate in 'camps,'" where Sandusky molested young boys.
"The original referral of John Doe was done through Edgewater Psychiatric Center," the complaint states. "John Doe's original referral was made on February 16, 2001.

"John Doe, a young black male, was participating in a 'Summer Challenge' under the supervision and management of 'Second Mile' during the summer of 2005. At the time he was approximately 14 years old.
"The Second Mile program was promoted and presented as a 'Jerry Sandusky' program."
In the summer of 2005, Doe says, he was taken to a Penn State pool for swimming.
"At the pool plaintiff met Jerry Sandusky," the complaint states. "Sandusky came up to the plaintiff while he was in the water and Sandusky took plaintiff's genitals in his hand as he commented 'what have we here' as he squeezed and manipulated John Doe's genitals.
"Deeply confused and troubled, the plaintiff recoiled from what Sandusky said and did. He backed away, as rapidly as he could, telling Sandusky he didn't want anything like that.
"Plaintiff was emotionally distraught and subsequently left Penn State and Second Mile, at the end of that week, as soon as he could, and returned to Harrisburg."
Edgewater, a nonprofit, "refused to acknowledge or cooperate with plaintiff's pre-complaint investigation into these matters" and "was aware of Sandusky's abuse yet referred the plaintiff to Second Mile exposing him to abuse at the hands of defendant Sandusky," according to the complaint."

Something new here: How could Edgewater have known about Sandusky on 2001 to 2005?
Or is this a muddled story- it seems as though they are the only people not likely to have known.

This just gets worse and worse. Looks like multiple organizations engaged in cover up. This is sickening. I cannot imagine how many victims there are out there.

Again Sandusky lies - he stood in a Bellefonte Court and demanded a speedy trial - now he doesn't like the result. I really think since he is still in county jail he is very afraid of going to the state prison.

Sandusky asks judge to overturn conviction on sex abuse charges
Former Penn State assistant coach seeks new trial
October 18, 2012 5:13 pm

The Associated Press
BELLEFONTE, Pa. -- Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky asked a judge on Thursday to overturn his child sexual abuse convictions and grant him a new trial, claiming his lawyers lacked sufficient time to prepare and the statute of limitations for some charges had expired.

Sandusky's lawyers filed the appeal at the courthouse in Bellefonte where has sentenced two weeks ago to 30 to 60 years in prison after being convicted of abusing 10 boys, some on Penn State's campus in State College. They say there wasn't enough evidence to support convictions.

Sandusky remains in the county jail, awaiting a transfer to a state prison to serve time for 45 criminal counts. Eight young men testified against him in June, describing a range of abuse they said included fondling and oral and anal sex when they were boys.

Most active thread so i will put it here. Victim #1 will be on 20/20 Tonight with Diane Sawyer.

God bless him. I saw a bit of the interview and all I can say is that he is an inspiration to all the other victims. He has graduated to a survivor. I hope that others will take courage from him.

Is it Jerry on his own, or his attorneys who are behind a plea for a new trail and having these convictions dropped?

Either way, it's a stupid idea; a million to one shot; unlikely and just plain a slam on our justice system that has stood for over 200 years. There are no do overs, fellows.

Jerry had his opportunity. Our laws allowed him to take the stand, swear an oath of truth and tell his side of what he was charged with. Jerry didn't take that step. And why? Because he doesn't know the truth? Or really believes he didn't do anything wrong? Or did he take the advice of his attorneys to remain off the stand and be silent. We will never know.

As much as I am disgusted with this case and angry for the cover-ups; truly sorry for the young men who were the victims and upset with the denial of Jerry and his people; I am really insulted that the convicted defendant is making out loud demands for his freedom. And that he continues to whine that he wasn't given a fair shake.

The defense had the same amount of time to prepare for the trail as the prosecution. The big difference is that the defense could not buy, dig up or uncover any evidence that would prove their client was innocent of the charges. And, no matter if they had three years to prepare, they were not going to find anything to take to trail to overcome the painful and hurtfull testimony that the victims had to give in front of God and country.
Besides it was Jerry and his team that waved a pre-trial hearing and requested a trial asap.

I've heard enough from the Jerry and his defense attorneys. Guys, go work on the appeal if you must. Meanwhile, put Jerry where he belongs - in prison! Maybe then, he will have time to come to terms with his life and the crimes he committed and were convicted of in a court of law.

Wow, do I feel better having written this.

Jerry Sandusky Finds a New Legion of Fans. . . on eBay

..........My fascination struck me as a little morbid, but it’s got nothing on this: While Jerry Sandusky’s athletic and moral reputation collapsed in the wake of his conviction on 45 counts of child molestation, the market for his signature has positively boomed. A used Penn State hat signed by Sandusky sold for $255, and signed copies of his memoir Touched: The Jerry Sandusky Story have sold for anywhere from $50 to $200. One entrepreneur made $80 marketing his combination of a vintage Penn State jacket, a Sandusky Football Camp t-shirt, and a coach’s whistle as a “tasteless Halloween costume.”

I didn't bother to read the link because it would make blood shoot out of my eyes.

Not the future so much as a retrospective: http://www.centredaily.com/2013/06/08/3646357/sandusky-trial-memories-flood.html

The very first mention of the case on Websleuths: [ame="http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showpost.php?p=7320190&postcount=567"]Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community - View Single Post - PA PA - Ray Gricar, 59, Bellefonte, 15 April 2005 - #6[/ame]

It, ironically, is not in this section. :)

I saw at some other forums, people were talking about Jerry Sandusky being investigated as early as Fall 2010. They were at unlikely forums, body building and a band.

Surprisingly, no one posted that Sara Ganim wrote an article to confirm that Sandusky was under investigation on March 31, 2011.

Your post about Jerry Sandusky in that Ray Gricar topic appears 14 hours before the first Sandusky topic appeared. The arrest and indictment of Sandusky was first reported on November 4, 2011.

There was a blog mentioning it in the CDT, prior to November 2011. http://www.centredaily.com/2011/05/15/2713056/grand-juries-gricar-and-the-district.html The focus was on the use of grand juries and questions about why MTM sent the case to a grand jury. It was written six weeks after Ganim's first article.

And yes, I have an alert set for "Ray Gricar," and that led me to the first article in the P-N. I got it about 15 minutes prior to the posting.

Those other locations are interesting and all seem to have been coming out about a 2-4 weeks before the investigators heard about the McQueary incident.

How did you ever find those message boards that discussed Sandusky in 2010??? Makes one really wonder how the BOT or PSU admistration or the athletic department failed to hear any rumors back then.

They didn't, according to the presentment.

I went to Google and typed in "Jerry Sandusky" and than clicked "Search Tools" and than "Any Time". I clicked on "Custom Range" and set the range before 2011. I than click "More" and "Discussions".

Those two are the only one I can find and interestingly they date around September 2010. I suspect there are more out there.

Here is what gets even more interesting. A common Google search phrase is "jerry sandusky rumors 2010". That would make me think the rumor of Sandusky emerged that year.

Sandusky had been under investigation since late 2009. I wonder how people would of known that time.

"Working off the brief mention on an Internet forum where people chatted about Penn State athletics, according to the two people with knowledge of the case, investigators narrowed their list of coaches likely to have seen something to Mike McQueary, then an assistant coach and the football program’s recruiting coordinator."
This was in 2010.
