"Constable Victor Kwong of the Toronto Police said that officers began searching the Lansdowne and Davenport area around 9 a.m. Wednesday. With the help of dozens of officers from several units and divisions, it was Ranger, a six-year-old dog trained to track live human scent, who eventually found Mr. Peloso in a bushy area near a set of train tracks.

“When we went in, the dog was barking about 10 or 15 times,” Sgt. Scott Fowlds, a canine sergeant at Toronto Police, said.

“He was crawled up in a ball, lying next to what I believe was a fence line,” Sgt. Fowlds said of Mr. Peloso, who he described as appearing “groggy.”

A spokesperson for EMS, said that just before 11 a.m., paramedics were called to Lansdowne and Davenport, where a man was taken to local hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police received a number of tips from the public about Mr. Peloso’s whereabouts in the past few days, including one that he may have been spotted near Lansdowne Avenue and Dupont Road Monday evening. Constable Kwong added that officers also tracked Mr. Peloso’s cellphone signal for clues to his whereabouts.

“Christopher is alive+ safely in the hands of TO Western Hospital. Love&Thank you to all,” Mr. Smitherman tweeted Wednesday afternoon"

"“He was found conscious and breathing,” Kwong said. “He was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.”

Officers were able to narrow down Peloso’s location using his cellphone signal. Trains moving through the area were stopped during the search, Kwong said.

“Trains were stopped for officer safety,” he said"

Sorry, but just have to give a " shout out" for this fine dog, Ranger.

"Ranger: The Toronto police dog that found George Smitherman’s husband"

"Toronto police dog Ranger is being credited with finding George Smitherman's missing husband Christopher Peloso.
ByAlex Consiglio and Paul Clarke

Sgt. Scott Fowlds plays hide-and-seek with his canine companion for a living. It's a serious business.

Fowlds and his sidekick Ranger, a 6-year-old German Shepherd with the force since 2009, located George Smitherman's missing husband Christopher Peloso, dirty and disheveled in the Lansdowne Ave. and Dupont St. area, just after 11 a.m. Wednesday. He had been missing for almost two days"

DOTR - I am so saddened hearing about all these missing young girls... Apparenlty, from what I read Taylor has run away previously and so now the police don't seem to be treating with the same priority...

How do we start up a thread here dedicated to Taylor?
