Sorry, but the NJH at Reitan is NOT in Valnesfjord but 22 km east of Bodø city and in Bodø county.. Valnesfjord is located in Fauske county. The boat was clearly found in Valnesfjordvannet and it is difficult to float from the fjord to the Valnesfjordvannet so probably the owner lives somewhere...

Reitan is ca. 25 km from Bodø centrum on the way to Fauske, it is not much beside a couple of houses and the military centre.. Next year it will be a train station with stop on the local train there too, to get there you have to take the bus to/from Fauske or drive... You find a map here on...

If he was traveling to Svalbard, it is no reason to stop in Bodø. The normal way is flight from Oslo to Tromsø or in last instance a flight from Trondheim that have a short stop in Bodø before it goes further up north to Tromsø. So in other words why go to Bodø if he was om his way to Tromsø...
