I honestly do not think the date is significant in this case, other than a coincidence; I doubt he even realized the date. That entire "incident" belonged to his past and he was quite done with it. I also have doubts as to the "serial killer roaming the world to commit such henious murders" theory. I think he just lost his temper and killed her. I don't even think he took her up there to kill her. Obviously this was not a well-planned act or he would not have made such a mess of it, with or without his father. JMO

Sounds to me to be what you're probably thinking...raped so hard her cervix was torn or bruised.
ETA: My bad. I didn't read it in the context of the article, just went by the post. Others are saying they meant the cervical spine which is in the neck.
