This is really bugging me. I have never seen a pending charge or not filed status?
Could Samantha or maybe even the DA have refiled or reopened the previous case against CB?

Arraignment: Muni/City (Out of Custody) 02/06/2012 09:00 12:00 Arr Dist Ct Out of Custody, Block Judge:

CB Was to appear in court Monday, February 6th, hmmnn.
Maybe I've been looking at this wrong. Could SK have taken the money and ran away with CB?

There's "little doubt" that Koenig's disappearance was anything but an abduction, Markiewicz said. That's based on Koenig's demeanor and the man's actions, as seen in the video, Markiewicz said.

"It appears he was armed," Markiewicz said. The detective would not comment on what sort of weapon the man had or if Koenig left behind any belongings.

This doesn't sound like she was a willing participant.

Is the person she filed the sexual assault charges missing too?

Also from the same link:

The man, wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and possibly a baseball cap, walked up to the Common Grounds Espresso stand on Tudor Road and Koenig left with him on foot headed toward the Old Seward Highway, said Detective Slawomir Markiewicz.

I hope they release the video footage to the Anchorage public. Maybe they already know who it is though.

Sorry Guys ... Pays to click on the case detail links.
This is evidently a misdemeanor charge. Scratch what I said above-

CB was supposed to appear in Court Monday 2/6. Now I am wondering if SK and CB took the money and ran, so to speak?

I think that would be the best case scenario, to have had them in on this together, sadly it doesn't sound that way. I'm so scared for Samantha.

Wow that's quite a bit different than the Trib story. Emerging details don't look so good. But hoping whoever that armed man was, releases Samantha unharmed somewhere.

Dark at around 5:00 on 2/1, wonder if there is video from another area they can look at?

I wonder what standard procedure was with the money at the end of the night. 8 pm is pretty late to hit a bank, although I suppose you could be responsible as the "closer" to take it to a dropbox at a bank. I can't imagine procedure would be to leave the cash in the business, as it certainly doesn't look like it would have a safe or be very hard to break into, for that matter. If it was typical for girls to work alone until 8 pm and then take the money out of there, I wonder if this is not anyone related to her specifically, but rather about stealing that money. Awfully lucky though, that her boyfriend hadn't shown up yet....I wonder if the surveillance shows him arriving to pick her up?

Hoping that she is found soon and that she is safe. This is not sounding good; and sounds quite scary indeed!

Wonder who's surveillance caught them....this article says they headed on foot towards Old Seward Hwy, which according to Google maps would be on the other side of what seems to be a car dealership right across the street from the Common Grounds.

Sorry, OT

Can I say, thank GOODNESS for surveillance!! How many crimes are caught on tape and solved with such a brilliant little device!! How horrifying for the LE that has to watch a tape and see a crime being committed; however, there are clues found in each instance!

Okay - carry on!

P.S. This case reminds me of Summer Inman just a bit. I know that Samantha wasn't married with a horrifying ex; however, leaving her work and abduction in the same sentence gives me nightmares!

Still wondering if CB is missing as well. Praying.

You make a good point about the end-of-day procedures. Usually, a courier picks up money from businesses and drops it off at a bank. I have a friend who does this. The last person on duty places the money from the cash register into a bank bag and gives it to the courier. Suppose someone came to the coffee stand pretending to be the courier and Samantha unwittingly opened the door for him; when she realized it was not the courier it was too late because he overpowered her and had a weapon.

Since Samantha was closing, it would make sense that her BF would wait until a little after 8:00 to pick her up. She would have to count the money, record the amount in the ledger and then place it in the bag for the courier. I, too, would like to know how soon after she was abducted her BF arrived. I hope LE can get surveillance from several businesses and are able to enlarge the picture of the culprit so the public can be informed and on the lookout. Footage from multiple surveillance cameras would also give LE an idea of which direction they traveled.

Yes, we need to remember he has not even been mentioned by LE, we have no idea at this point who abducted her.

Here is her missing flyer.

All the cash in the stand went missing when Samantha vanished, said Common Grounds owner Michelle Duncan. The stand's door was locked and the windows boarded and also locked, which is normal closing procedure, she said. But what's unusual is that the security alarm wasn't set and nothing was cleaned, Duncan said.

Still, that wasn't enough to immediately raise concerns, Duncan said.

"We didn't even have a red flag," Duncan said. "We didn't know anything was wrong until we found out she hadn't been heard from."

Later, surveillance footage showed someone leaving the coffee stand on foot with Samantha at the end of her shift, Duncan said. Samantha and the other person walked out of the stand, across the parking lot and out of view, Duncan said.

This seems strange. They did not think it was weird that all the money was gone, and she had not done the usual end of shift chores...
