Article states he moved to AK from WA in 2007. I wonder what he was doing in south TX. Heading to Mexico?

The Anchorage Daily News (http://bit.ly/xIoCtc) reports local detectives have been in Texas for several days working on the case.

Police say they're seeking information from anyone who had personal contact with Keyes, or his business, Keyes Construction, since Jan. 1.

Keyes is being held in a federal facility in Beaumont, Texas on unspecified charges.

"The federal arrest warrant was sealed; therefore, details related to his charges will not be released at this time," APD spokesperson Anita Shell wrote in a press release.

this was at the bottom of the article:
Editor's note: An initial reference to Keyes as a suspect in the Koenig abduction has been clarified to a "person of interest."

Good job local LE/Texas Rangers/FBI. :applause:

NOW ... find Samantha.

OMG! I just did a mapquest search from the coffee shack to the address listed on the Keyes Construction website and it's 4-5 minutes (driving) away! I'm going to try to paste a pic/link (I'm a noob!)

just a thought, if he works construction, he's probably got some early hours and would need coffee to wake up in the morning (or as a refresher after a long day). personally, i work really early hours and i prefer to go to a coffee place with a drive through if the option is available... especially one that's at a convenient location.

my guess is he headed to texas soon after the abduction to try and keep a low radar and possibly work on an alibi. i hope they find samantha soon!! now that they have him and can put the pressure on, i'm sure it won't be much longer... esp. if they have incriminating evidence.

Police are also seeking information from anyone who may have come into contact with Keyes since Jan. 1, or visited his construction company, Keyes Construction, in Anchorage. According to online records, the business is located on Arctic Boulevard in Anchorage. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 1-800-225-5324 OR 1-800-CALL-FBI

wasn't sure if this was the address you all were mapping/seeing... so I slapped it up here jic

Well Ill be damned! Hallelujah. .this gives renewed hope that these cases can be resolved.. sadly I believe Sam isn't likely alive.. I mean what in the hell could they have found so quickly ina routine search of his car after being pulled over.. that would automatically link him to Sam

Try doing one for Spurr Lane (house searched) and the coffee shop...or adding Spurr Lane to your map...really close.

I'm trying to stay optimistic, SO. They've been on this guy for "several days", according to one article. It was just about a week ago that the chief of homicide said he believes she's alive. Hopefully, he knew what he was talking about.

According to a press release, Anchorage Police have had two detectives in Texas for several days as they investigated the abduction of Samantha Koenig, 18.

Police say Tuesday's arrest of Israel Keyes is directly connected to that abduction, but Koenig is still missing.

ETA: He was arrested since Tuesday and it just made the news??

I noticed there were many edits (stops & starts) in that interview. That lead me to believe he refused to answer some questions.

The events of that night, or even the events of the days/weeks leading up to Sam's disappearance have never been discussed. People have asked "why wasn't Sam reported missing that night", both on the Missing FB Page and the Forum they set up. The posts are either ignored or deleted.

Strange, considering everything a missing person does in the 24-48 hours prior to going missing, is considered very important.

Many things in this case just don't add up

I noticed the edits as well and wondered.
To be perfectly honest I obviously have no clue what actually happened with reporting SK missing. However, I truly can see that being a tough call. When i was her age, plans changed so fast. You don't think about other people all the time, and it's possible they were somewhat worried but thought she had run into someone and would call or be home later and thought she was just being inconsiderate not answering her phone. You never really expect something terrible to happen to you! I feel look looking in, it seems to obvious they should have called right away. But if I'm honest with myself, I'm not sure what I would have done.

I REALLY hope so. I feel so anxious, I cannot imagine how her poor family feels. Do you think her dad really didn't know about this for the last two days??

Going by the non-reporting by her father and boyfriend on that night, it would seem that Samantha was not one who came home regularly at night...this may not be true, but it sure makes it seem that way.

In the first paragraph, JK writes that "Duane, Samantha, and myself have all been working the swing shift, so we all kept the same hours, which was really nice so we could spend the most time together. Samantha and Duane would spend most of their time playing “Call of Duty Black Ops” on their Xbox360, or watching television, and playing other board or card games."

He makes it sound as if the three of them are together after work nearly every night. If that is true, it would be unusual for Sam to have left work before Duane picking her up with no call or text to either Duane or JK.

In paragraphs three and four, JK writes, "I have kept Duane out of the eye of the media...", "I have let him hang out with a couple of Samantha's best friends...", and "I have been making them stay out of the media..." I don't know how old Duane is, but if he's 18 he is an adult and no one should be telling him do anything. Even if he's a minor, JK is not his legal guardian (at least there is nothing in MSM to state otherwise). Why is JK so adamant that Sam's boyfriend and best friends stay out of the media? Is JK trying to control what is being said about Samantha being kidnapped by the people who know her best?

IMO of course.

You can bet ya sweet bippee he is.

Can someone please run a prior convictions check on this Israel Keyes? TIA

Based on this information, it seems like they arrested him first, then searched his home? Or am I getting the time line messed up?
