LILLIAN, Alabama -- After hearing a false report on a local TV station, mother of missing woman Brittney Wood believed remains found in Baldwin County were not those of her daughter.

"I was misinformed," Chessie Wood, Brittney Wood's mother, said. "Brittney Wood has not been ruled out."

"We have that open case involving Brittney Wood, obviously, there are some circumstances that led to Baldwin County back over to Mobile and we still haven't located," said Cpl. Chris Levy.

Levy said the second case is that of 14-year-old Brittany Robinson.

(WALA) - For nearly a year, the disappearance of Brittney Wood has remained unsolved - with few answers or explanations.

At only 19-years-old, the mother of one vanished from her home in Mobile on May 30, 2012. She was last seen driving off with her uncle, Donald Holland, Sr.

"I don't think it can get any worse," said Brittney's mother, Chessie Wood. "We've had deaths in our family that wasn't this bad, because we knew what happened to them."

Local and national search crews spent months combing for clues.

MOBILE, Alabama -- A Mobile County judge denied a pair of motions to reduce bond Monday morning in an ongoing sex abuse investigation spanning Mobile and Baldwin counties and leading to the arrest of multiple family members and family friends of a missing mother.

I live in the area of Mobile, AL and this case has us all sick at our stomachs. There are 6 family members so far who have been arrested. This may have already been discussed, but one of the "fathers" in this ring took his little girl to meet another family member and he sat there and watched the man rape her. This family is sick. How in the world did all of them become this way? I just know that Brittney's disappearance has something to do with the family ring. She may have been trying to protect her little girl from molestation and something happened to shut her up.
