Band cancels College Station show as search for missing bass player continues
Lauderdale County, Alabama -
A popular cover band that regularly plays in College Station has cancelled its show for Thursday night because the bass player and his brother are missing.
The Velcro Pygmies were set to play at The Tap, but Jacob Sanders and his brother, Jeremiah, have not been located after the two took a fishing trip in Lauderdale County, Alabama
Wednesday.
Early Thursday morning, search teams found the brothers' boat on the Tennessee River, according to CBS affiliate WHNT in Huntsville, Alabama.
The Velcro Pygmies "leads the crowd on a roller coaster trip through the 80s, with occasional detours into country and R&B," according to the band's website, which adds that the band
plays some 200 venues each year.
"Our Jacob Sanders and his brother Jeremiah need all your prayers and positive thoughts while rescue teams search for them in Alabama after their boat was found without them
aboard," according to a post on the band's Facebook page. "We have a lot of LOVE in this FAMILY and now is the time to make that LOVE known loud and clear that we need these boys
HOME."
