Alleged abuse photos

I finally got to see the pics. This lawyer is suppose to be an expert on family law?!?!?! Not even close. I hope a judge nails her and Crystal to the wall. These are ridiculous allegations.

IMO Crystal is trying everything to get the focus off of Haleigh's missing status, and it just makes me want to dig further into it. She must have some reason for all this. I just haven't found it.....YET.

the pic of haleigh is nasty, but i have to say my daughter fell out of a shopping cart last yr, the biggest goose egg on her forehead....this is what happens to kids, they fall, they get hurt and bruised

the pics of junior are nothing imo....just marks from playing outside or with other kids

This actually has been talked about before. Don't remember which thread. It was said that the black eye happened at Haleigh's school and is easily verifiable. I also was under the impression that this is one of the things DCF looked into previously and had verified by Haleigh's school. I'll look for the link.

It ticks me off that this is being put out there as new info when in fact it is not and I 100% agree with the Cummings family that this type of nonsense is a detractor to finding Haleigh.

The whole thing is just so sad.

Salem

With all due respect, marrying the babysitter who can't get her story straight is a detractor also.

O/T I just want to add:

That no matter what people think of Ron and/or Crystal, they sure do make some beautiful babies. What gorgeous children.

The following was posted by Kat on 02-22-2009, 11:08 AM, post #30 in the thread "Turmer's Syndrome" http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79846&page=2

"There was a picture shown last night of Haleigh with a black eye. The school reports that it happened there.

Don't girls with this syndrome have spatial issues? Wouldn't that make them more prone to injury from falling? Just curious."

Spacial difficulties related to Turner's syndrome were confirmed by definitions found elsewhere on the web, and by Websleuthers who have relatives with the syndrome. See http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79846 for the complete thread "Turner's Syndrome".

If the school can confirm the rumor that Haleigh got the black eye reported at http://www.artharris.com/ at school in a Turner's Syndrome related accident, my opinion of Art Harris' integrity as a journalist is quite low, and my opinion of Crystal's character is even lower.

Accusations of abuse are serious, especially in the case of a missing child, so I started a new thread to avoid getting lost in the "Rumor Thread". It is important that we remember that the allegations of abuse and the report that she received the injury at school are a rumor.

Cat, or anyone else out there, if you can post confirmation that this was a school accident, please do so.

okay now I am getting up to speed.....this is what I remember. The school nurse was interviewed and stated that the black eye DID happen at school. I wish I could find the post now, daisy there is another one besides this one....but good work finding this one!

My impressions, FWIW:

1. The pic of Haleigh can be explained by the fall at school.

--- What starts as a small scratch on the nose can easily evolve into later bruising and swelling, and Haleigh's TS could also make that worse.

--- I can also see accepting the school nurse's explanation and assurance at the time, then taking my child to the doctor when it seemed to be getting too much worse.

2. The pics of Jr clearly indicate to me that Haleigh was telling the truth when she said "daddy hit him with a stick."

--- In the first picture, Jr's upper arm shows marks left by adult fingers (IMO)

--- In the follow-up pictures, there are striped bruises on his thigh exactly like I would expect to see from being stricken with a stick.

--- I would conclude that he was held tightly by the upper arm and stricken with a stick on the thigh.

I also feel it's likely that it was upon the visit by DPS about this incident that Ron was told (or reminded) what kind of "spanking" "on the bottom" was acceptable, and not to use sticks.

Would I pitch a fit if I saw a parent do that to a chilid, especially one at Jr's age? You bet.

Would I want custody if I found out my husband hit my toddler that way? It depends on other factors. I would definitely be worried for my child if I didn't trust his father's ability to control his temper or use good judgment.

Do I think this raises to the level of child abuse suggested by the attorney? Not if the pictures are the only evidence. She says she also has witnesses, so I guess we shall see.

/:twocents:

ETA: aren't those diapers I see on Jr? I see tape in one, and the others are white, crinkly, and too padded to be underwear.

Kids will fall, get scratched, break an arm and so fourth. It happens. However, :furious:IMO these bruises do not look to me as a simple childhood accident. The dates that Haleigh missed in Feb? 11 days? She went missing on the 9th. So was she not in school the month of Feb? What the heck is going on? I am not their mother and I am so mad I wish I could bring those babies home. What the hell was the department of family and children services doing? Taking a long lunch break? Sorry, this is my opinion. I have 4 children, one that has major meltdowns that we have to move furniture away from her when she flippies out, it is part of her disability and NEVER EVER EVER HAVE ANY OF MY CHILDREN HAD ANY BRUISES LIKE THAT! NEVER!......JMO
My opinion is based personal photos that bring back very bad memories. Crop out the lashes on the child's arm, that is not a scratch mark "IMO".
A hypothetical question, if your child fell and there face looked the way that Haleigh's does in that picture, what would you do? I would run to the ER to make sure she did not break something. It is said the mother has reported all this abuse, I believe it...I hear cases like this all the time and the state does nothing until a child turns up dead. Again, this is JMO. I respect all opinions and this one just happens to be mine. I am sick to see those pictures and the only victims here are the children. Haleigh is missing...what happen the night before she went missing? They need to keeps this child's face out there and she needs a lot of prayers. I pray these allegations are not true, I really do. No child should ever be hit, for any reason. They are children we are supposed to protect them. Nobody is protecting these children...

CS said that she did question the bruises on Haleigh and she was told that she fell at school. They are saying that they don't believe that story because what the nurse said and the pictures depict different bruises. In there opinion. So please stop saying that she never brought this up. She did. I don't know if RC abused his kids or not, but she did ask about the bruises before. I also wonder why it took a week to take her to the hospital.

It didn't..If I remember right she was at the doctor's the same day or the next and went again a week later..

I also wonder why these pictures are being brought out at this time. If she was afraid for her children in November, why wait? Her lawyer says because she was an abused afraid woman. She has been away from RC for 5 years? I just can't buy it.

I completely agree...

If Haleigh and her little brother were indeed abused and these pictures show that abuse, I feel bad for both of them, it should have been reported right away!
However, the fact that she waited until such a questionable time to show these pics and make any claim/report of abuse, make us all question the authenticity and sincerity of them.

If Haleigh and Jr were indeed abused, then Jr should be removed, but allowing custody to his mother isn't the route to go, she lost that custody in the first place... two questionable parents here, and all this does is take the spotlight off the main issue here... FINDING HALEIGH!!!!

It didn't..If I remember right she was at the doctor's the same day or the next and went again a week later..

Thanks for the reminder on that. It's obvious that they were concerned with her injuries.

IMO I believe that it did happen at school. According to the school records Haleigh fell on 11/6 then she missed school 11/7, 11/10 they had 11/11 off for veterans day. She then missed 11/12 11/13 and 11/14. And it was noted on the hospital note the that they were told it happened 11/6. And that note was going to the school.

I started a separate Rumor thread to address this particular issue at http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81686.

I wrote it before this thread mentioned that this may have happened at school, because I am a new WS it took me quite some time to get it up. :waitasec:

Haleigh goes home early from school after an accident on the playground Nov. 6th.

She then misses school Fri. Nov. 7th, Mon 10th, Tues is Veteran's Day - a holiday.

Wednesday the 12th she goes to the ER. On the ER report, it says in the upper left corner: "Incident on Nov 6th", and says no school 13th-15th.

Haleigh misses school on Thurs. 13th and Friday 14th and then again on Mon. the 17th.

She misses school again on Friday Nov. 21st and is late to school on Mon. Nov. 24th. I would venture to guess that this would be the weekend that Crystal had Haleigh and when the photos were taken.

I think the proof is in the docs. No abuse. The thing happened on the playground.

That was the photo Marie used on Geraldo to say Haleigh was abused, then admitted it was the school accident and school verified.Crystal also said Ronald had taken her to er,because he thought her nose was broken. If this had not been verified,he probably would have been put in jail.If this is going to keep with the sensationalism,it's not going to go well for Crystal.IMO I raised three boys and two girls, they always had bruises and I didn't even spank them.Time outs work so much better.:)

I think the fact that she took the pictures at the time of the injuries show she was concerned then. The pictures of Jr were reported to the authorities at the time. I don't understand why it is so hard to understand that.

Thank you.

I remember several also justifying the wedding because it kept Haleigh in the news.

I got a sad chuckle this morning when I was reading an article with GM Sykes criticizing Crystal for taking the focus off Haleigh, and right there next to it were links to two recent articles titled something like "Father weds babysitter/child bride" and "Father of missing girl Honeymoons in NY."

Not that I'm actually supporting the current doings of the mother's side at this point, but after that circus from the father's side last week, any cries this week about her "taking the focus off Haleigh" ring worse than hollow to me.

And also,God knows what that poor child is going through now, look what she's going to be coming home to,this is sad.And even Crystal has said how close Haleigh is to her Dad,would she honestly take her away from Ronald when she comes home?

We can all give our opinions on the photos as to abuse or not. The only people who would know for sure are the parent and the child. This child needs to be interviewed by an expert. No one actually knows for sure what has or has not happened to those children in the home. It is hard for me to hear people sweep away any concern about the possibility of abuse w/out an interview by a forensic specialist first. You cannot tell from the outside, just looking at pics or the injury whether it's abuse or not. The child has the answers and his story should be heard. I know what I speak of, I was abused for 13 years before anyone believed me. You really cannot tell by looking from the outside. I have broken bones and scars that were visible in school that were explained away as "normal" childhood play injuries.
