I learned years ago while in rehab for alcohol, that many addicts accidentally overdose after a period of sobriety. I don't know if she was trying to get off of the drugs and alcohol, but it makes sense that she was out of the limelight for a period of time before her death.

If she abstained for awhile then fell off the wagon, her tolerance level would be much less than before. if she was addicted to alcohol and tried to quit drinking without medical care, that could have killed her as well. That is why it is so important to be under the care of professionals when trying to recover!

I am so very grateful to God that I had the opportunity to get proper help and was able to recover successfully, and I am sad for those poor souls who don't make it!

Hugs TGI - I'm so proud of you! I would think all that money would buy them some recovery - but I guess not. I look at Brooke Mueller, Charlie Sheen, Lindsey Lohan and ask myself "who's next"?

There was always talk that the large newspapers/media had written the obit for Amy quite awhile ago. The publication of this obit kinds makes me think that talk was spot on.

So sad to see how many saw this coming, but Amy did not. I hope she finds some peace now.
