In a preliminary hearing Monday, four obstruction of justice charges and one possessing ammunition as a felon charge was continued and will now go to a grand jury next week.
A judge dismissed a breaking and entering charge and a misdemeanor charge of crimes against an animal.

Those are questions her biological father wants answered.
The adoptive father of the late Anjelica “AJ” Hadsell was indicted Wednesday for charges related to his interference of the investigation into her disappearance.
At a grand jury hearing in Norfolk General District Court, indictments against Wesley Hadsell were returned for possession of ammunition by a convinced felon and four counts of obstructing justice. A direct indictment was also handed down for statutory burglary.

Hadsell is not facing charges directly related to AJ’s death. Back in March, during the search for his daughter, police arrested Hadsell for breaking into the home of a person he says may have taken his daughter against her will.
BBM: NORFOLK -- Family and friends were searching Friday for 18-year-old Anjelica "AJ" Hadsell, who hasn't communicated with them since March 2.
Hadsell was was last heard from via text around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Her parents reported her missing from their Tarrallton neighborhood home around 9:15 that night.
Her mother says something just doesn't seem right.
"The conversation, in my opinion, was kind of off. I can't be 100 percent sure I know that was my daughter I was texting. I know how she talks and I know the type of things she says," said Jennifer Hadsell.
CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Search and rescue crews are looking for missing 18-year-old Anjelica “AJ” Hadsell near a heavily wooded and marshy area off South Battlefield Boulevard in Chesapeake.
A spokesman with the Norfolk Police Department tells WAVY.com investigators are following a tip they received regarding Hadsell’s disappearance.
Family and friends of Hadsell tell 10 On Your Side they started searching the area around 5 p.m. March 19 after they got a tip about clothing on the side of the road. They say they found at least four items they believe belong to Hadsell and notified police.

We recently learned the 18-year-old died of acute heroin poisoning, but the circumstances surrounding her death are still undetermined.
The mother's ordeal began March 2, when her daughter disappeared. It continues - a medical examiner said Anjelica "AJ" Hadsell died of "acute heroin poisoning," but Jennifer Hadsell said her daughter did not use drugs. She believes someone poisoned her, but no one has been charged in her death.
Police said Tuesday there is no new information on the case.
"I have different theories that are in my head," Jennifer Hadsell said Monday. "Based on what I know or what was put out... it really could have been anybody."

Corey French says Norfolk detectives interrogated him for more than 12 hours, asking him repeatedly if he had anything to do with AJs disappearance.

When police searched his home, French says they found AJ's Longwood University softball jacket -- the jacket she was last seen wearing.
They brought it in and they opened up the bag and pulled out her jacket and that`s when I lost it, he says. I started crying I mean I had no idea that was in my house.
