Spooks, perhaps I didnt articulate the point I was trying to make well enough or you missed the gist of my post, but there was no suggestion as to the credibility of anyone's input, nor did I imply that I didnt/ couldnt understand, accept, or tolerate anything anyone proposed. I have no problem at all with comprehension.
From my observation's of late, a 'wot if' gets thrown onto the table (ie. a suggestion that a particular aspect of the crime may have occurred) then every conceivable 'maybe' gets thrown in to support it (ie. It might have happened like this, or maybe it happened like that).... And that's as far as it seems to go before the next 'wot if' is offered.
I have no issue with any particular 'wot if' or 'maybe'. Nor did our shared use of a word mean it was directed at you. I was motivated to post my opinion regarding the direction of the thread by responses to Hilo which suggested "thinking outside the box" to "rule out all possible theories".
My point was that I dont think the current approach is achieving that at all because much of the 'wot if's' aren't being posed in relation to any particular theory, therefore its merits via the 'maybes' not being discussed, thus making it impossible to rule anything in or out. That's what I think is "ludicrous" & and the reason I posed the question "where is it going"?
I posted my own theories simply to demonstrate I had nowhere left to go with them. I certainly didnt suggest, nor intend to imply, that my opinion was any more or less valuable nor credible than anyone else's & I'd be happy to contribute to anyone else's theory regardless of whether I believed there was any truth to it or not, if the scope of the discussion will allow it to get that far.
CV - Of the 2 other murders, 1 is a particularly sad case for both parties concerned. The details are not yet in MSM & its currently before the courts. The person charged is too young to be involved in 1996-1997 murders, so unrelated.
- the second was an elderly lady who met with foul play in her home so I think its most likely to be an attempted burglary gone wrong.
