GUILTY Australia - Mason Jet Lee, 21 mos, Caboolture, Qld, 11 June 2016 *mother and stepfather guilty*

The aunt of a toddler who was found dead at his stepfather's home said she reported the family to child services because the 21-month-old boy was living 'in pure filth'.

Mason Jet Lee's aunt, Shuntel, told A Current Affair it was a 'very hard' decision to report her own sister to authorities, but she felt she had no choice because she was concerned for the boy's welfare.

'I had to take it upon myself to contact child services because nobody else would do it and it was my responsibility, and duty as an aunty,' Shuntel said.

'The way she was living in pure filth [concerned me].'

Shuntel also expressed her anger at child services after they did not take any action.

She claims they did nothing about Mason because they did not have an address for his mother, Ann-Marie Lee, who had been evicted from her home.

'I'm very angry that they have released this boy to the mother, who has then released him to the stepfather and now he is deceased,' Shuntel said.

'Shame on all of them, all of them. The mother and child services for not doing their job.'

Just saw this on Facebook and my stomach dropped! I'm glad charges have been laid, but it breaks my heart to imagine what poor little Mason went through being abused by at least 3 people.

Bless you Mason xx

The toddler's mother, Annemaree Louise Lee, 27, from Caboolture South, was remanded in custody, after appearing in Toowoomba Magistrates Court.

Ms Lee will reappear in Toowoomba Magistrate Court on Monday, August 1, police confirmed.

Detectives from Moreton District's Crime Command, assisted by Homicide and Child Trauma Task Force investigators, arrested two men and a woman on Friday and later charged them.

Shocking and very sad but somehow not surprising that his mother has been charged. The poor little boy :(

THERE were dramatic scenes at the Toowoomba Courthouse this morning when a woman was set to appear for the manslaughter of 21-month-old Mason Jet Lee.

The 27-year-old Caboolture South woman, believed to be Ann-Marie Lee, was arrested and charged in Toowoomba on Friday.

She was due to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates court on Saturday morning.

Around the time of her scheduled appearance an ambulance was called to the watch house.

There is speculation that the Queensland Ambulance Service responded to someone in the compound who tried to harm themselves.

An ambulance spokesman would not confirm the speculation, saying that an ambulance was called for a medical case.

Thanks again for the links, wwgy. Vale little Mason. No child deserves the life he had.

A toddler found dead in a Queensland home was covered ‘head to toe’ in injuries and was suffering a ruptured bowel in the days before he died

Mason’s mother Ann-Marie Lee, 27, his step-father, William O'Sullivan, 35, and Ryan Hodson, 17 have been charged with manslaughter following Mason’s death.

The charges come as new details have surfaced about how the toddler died.

It's claimed Mason's illness could have been treated with antibiotics and he would have been in excruciating pain before he died.

Mason Jet Lee: Mother and two others charged over Caboolture toddler's death

Detective Inspector Paul Schmidt today said the manslaughter charges related to an alleged lack of reasonable care being provided to the ill boy, who investigators believe died of a ruptured small intestine.

"Police will be alleging that the child died as a result of peritonitis due to a ruptured duodenum," he said.

Thanks for all your news updates everyone. It is evil and despicable what happened to little Mason. I just don't and will never understand how any adult could do this to an innocent child.

The court heard Hodson, who had been living in the same house as Mason, refused on multiple occasions to get the child medical help when asked.

Hodson allegedly told one person who said the toddler needed to see a doctor to “*advertiser censored** your mouth up, it’s not our business, it’s not our problem”.

He also allegedly told another person that he wouldn’t take Mason to see a doctor because he “wasn’t his child”.

The court heard Hodson was captured on CCTV verbally abusing the child on three occasions leading up to his death.

This brings me to tears and makes me so sad. These ferals, and that's what they are, continue to have children and treat them abhorrently and nothing is done. There are plenty of people who would have taken this child in and loved him. I just don't understand how humans can be so cruel, and to a baby for goodness sakes :crying:

I had decided last night for my own mental health I was going to not read any more about poor little Mason.
I've decided today though that I will keep posting news reports about him and his horrific injuries. Hopefully if people reading here are from QLD then we can maintain the rage and disgust at how something so tragic could happen. Things need to change within the system that let this little one down and they need to change fast.

It makes me feel physically sick and brings tears to my eyes reading what they did to him but if that's what it takes to make more people aware of a failing system, then that's what it takes. It's nothing compared to what some of these children go through.
How can we change things ?

THE absent mother of Queensland toddler Mason Lee refused to take him to a doctor the day before he died, despite being sent a photo of her 21-month-old son lying in a pool of vomit, a court has heard.
Anne-Maree Lee, 27, and two others have been charged with Mason’s manslaughter, with police alleging the trio quibbled about whose responsibility it was to take him to the doctor as he lay dying.

Hodson told police the toddler had been vomiting for five days before he died.
By the time paramedics were called to the house, it was too late, and the toddler’s body was allegedly thrown, “like a football” to an ambulance officer over a gate that could not be unlocked.

Seriously!? We are blessed with medicare in Australia. It wouldn't have cost them a cent to take Mason to a Doctor or emergency department! There are no excuses. The only reason I can think of for them not wanting to take him to the doctors is because they knew they inflicted the injuries to Mason and they didn't want to be caught out.
Poor Mason. To know his last days were spent in so much pain, alone and scared breaks my heart.
I was staying at my mums house just 2 minutes down the road on the night that this happened. If only I knew then I could have gotten him help :(

That's exactly why they didn't get him help ! Revolting. What sort of feral human does this ? Is it any wonder the first police and ambulance on the scene were seen vomitting in the gutter. I feel so sorry for them. How awful.

Mason Lee's tragic last day and months of sickening abuse exposed in court documents

WARNING - GRAPHIC CONTENT: Queensland toddler Mason Jett Lee's lifeless body was riddled with broken bones, ruptured organs and leaked faecal matter, on the night he died, according to documents tendered to court.

Paramedics allegedly found Mason covered in vomit, wearing a faeces-stained singlet.

Underneath the singlet his abdomen, arms and legs were battered, bruised and scarred, the document states.

Blood had pooled around his neck and ears, a bruise had swallowed his eye and the rest of his skin was glazed, red and puffy.

Organs were ripped from his abdominal cavity and his arms appeared to be ruptured.

According to the newspaper, the boy's anus had been torn open.

A tear in Mason’s small intestine caused faecal matter to leak into his abdomen, making him sick for days before an infection began to slowly kill him.

His mother claims she knew nothing about this illness.

Mason was allegedly at O'Sullivan and Hodson's home for at least a week before he was found dead.

A visitor arrived at the home on July 11 and made a call to triple-0.

Hodson’s girlfriend, Sheila Low, said Lee asked her to help in getting Mason back from Mr O’Sullivan, the newspaper reports.

“Low stated that the deceased child wasn’t moving and was only staring and looked pale,” the affidavit reads.

She allegedly told Ms Lee to call the police, but the mother replied back and said: “I’m no dog.”

SMH! Obviously cared more about being loyal to her abusive partner than her own child!
