Becky and Sergio Celis have scheduled an interview Friday with all of the local news stations. :woohoo:

These are not "eventually" because they were quick outcomes. Generally a child this young has been abducted from their yard with witnesses.
So there is an Amber Alert... and either someone sees the vehicle or the perp gets scared and drops the child off.
Obviously, we've also seen good outcomes when someone is abducted from the house in the middle of the night. Elizabeth Smart, etc.

Shasta Groene - 8 - abducted from her bed with her 9 year old brother, her family was killed.
Her 9 year old brother was later killed in another state.
Shasta was brought back to her hometown 7 weeks later and then recognized in a Denny's.

Jennifer Schuett - 8 - Abducted from her bed, raped and left for dead, found 12 hours later. Arrest almost 20 years later. :woohoo:

Jeannette Tamayo - 9 - abducted from home, mother and brother beaten. Held for 3 days before she conned him into releasing her.

Midsi Sanchez - 8 - abducted walking home, held for 2 days before she unlocked her shackles and escaped from her abductors car.

Alisa Maier - 4 - abducted from front yard, left by abductor at car wash more than 24 hours later.

There was also another 4 year old who was found alive after 24 hours... I cannot remember her name at the moment.

Natalie Flores - 5 abducted from front yard, vehicle chased down by police 7 hours later.

8 year old girl - abducted outside a home playing with friends, spotted by a citizen in the suspect vehicle 12 hours later.

Calysta Cordova - 9 - abducted walking home, escaped 18 hours later.

Shannon Matthews - 9 - didn't return from a school swimming trip, found more than 3 weeks later, hidden to collect reward money.

Thanks so much for posting this list...not just because it answered a question, but because i find these stories really uplifting, especially Jennifer Schuett's.

ETA, Totally OT but this woman's story has brought me A LOT of hope and comfort http://www.trutv.com/library/crime/criminal_mind/sexual_assault/alison_ripper_rapist/1.html

I've noticed that a lot of young people call everyone they know their "best friend". I don't think JM thinks so, just because someone is a "friend" on a social media site doesn't make them a real friend.

MOO

Very true. But even being an IRL acquaintance of JM's and living/working in the area make him someone worth looking at. Maybe he admired JM's pics of Isa and knew where to find her. Maybe he decided to continue with some other little girls he got info about and it was a failed abduction.

IDK. Just thinking on my keyboard.

You need to link this up, please. And if it is social media that cannot be linked here because it does not belong to the family, a named POI or the victim, then I need to know that also.

Thanks,

Salem
It is a facebook page. He is not family. He is a friend of the uncle/cousin. He has a striking resemblance to the composite sketch of the intruder into the 3 girls room. Not a POI.
Apologies if I should not of posted what I did.

The Catholics who are offended need, IMO, to look at the intent of RC and SC in wearing the rosaries. After all, intent is very important, in Catholic theology. One must intend to sin, in order for sin to be there.

Are they wearing the rosary to be fashionable? Doubtful, seeing as how they were merely wearing pants and "Find Isa" shirts at the times they were shown wearing them, not high fashion outfits.

Are they wearing them to be disrespectful? Doubtful again, as I saw neither of them doing anything disrespectful with the beads, making fun of them, or even saying anything about them.

Charity would call for us to never assume bad intentions - that is considered a sin in itself. So in the absence of any evidence that the Celis's have bad intentions by wearing the beads, we can really only charitably assume they are doing so for totally benign, even pious reasons. May it be imperfect practice, according to what SOME were taught? Maybe. But as Mother Teresa famously said, we are not called to be perfect - just called to *try*.

And that's my last comment on that issue. :innocent:

I haven't read the entire thread.. but just to add..
back in the day it was sacrilege to wear a rosary,
Nowadays.. it's common (at least for my son, his friends and the youth in our church)
I'd rather see him wear the rosary than a pentagram!!

I think the Celis' wore them like you would wear a cross.. many times a day I grab onto my cross necklace and say a prayer to give me strength!

I think they are VERY Christian people and they have put alot of faith in the Lord.. no matter how this turns out.

God bless you Isa! :rose:

Strange how rapidly this case has moved. IIRC, didn't LE say, after only 7 days, something to the effect that the case was going to go cold ??? Just astounding...MOO

Are there any active searches going on at this time ? Anyone looking for Isabel ? Seems like LE is convinced she is close to home...That 3 mile radius ?

iT sounds,IMO, a little... off.. when SC says they "will never stop looking ". MOO, but when I heard it, it put me in mind of OJ, out looking for the "real killers " MOO

No searches...just SO MUCH PRAYING, won't that take care of everything? :what:

I think that is a very good point as the 'uncle' has pictures of Isa in a couple ---> several (?) places even one on his dating profile.

Thanks insatiable! Okay - if he is just a friend and he is not on LE's radar as evidenced by MSM or some kind of LE report, we need to table the facebook discussion until LE or MSM give us a reason to go there.

No one is in trouble. A child is missing and everyone wants her found - but we have to be careful about dragging innocent people into the investigation. The rule is that we don't go sleuthing every member of the family or friend or acquaintance that we find on facebook without reason. Unfortunately - looking like the composite is not reason enough, we need more. So we need to table this for now, okay?

Thanks!

Salem

No searches...just SO MUCH PRAYING, won't that take care of everything? :what:

Not being Snarky but I just heard recently that people who pray and people that are prayed for usually live longer, get well faster and have an overall happier life! Just thought it was interesting. It was some kind of a study! I believe it!

If praying is all you have, it's better than nothing! I love to pray.

@Salem: duly noted! Won't happen again! :)

If one of my kids was missing I'd rather people be looking than praying...but since I'm an Atheist prayer is kinda silly to me. JMO

I couldn't agree more! I have seen people's faith transform them, their loves, and the lives of others.

Nothing wrong with the Celises asking for prayers! :)
