with putting this current situation aside; Stacey Barker was a great mother
it makes me sick that this takes so long. I cannot STAND knowing these people spend more time doodling around waiting for trial, thinking they'll get out of it for longer than their poor babies got to LIVE!
I went to the court on the 18th for something and thought I would get the last pages of the proceedings (held in-camera) but all I was given was 1 page that said "orders granted for a face to face visit with laptop is signed and filed on this date" this date was 11/17/2010 no one was present, not SB, not Dager, or Cromer...
I was just thinking that Dager has gotten around to taking the laptop into the Jail to show SB what the state has on her, I think a part of it is the recorded phone calls with Sutton and others.
The Dec 3rd date is for pretrial conference, I am hoping at that time that they will be interviewing a jury and trial will start soon after.
Stacey had a saying about regrets - that you shouldn't regret anything because at the time it was something you wanted. I get chills thinking of this now because I stop and think - at the time she murdered Emma she wanted her dead - so does she not regret having done so?
I think that Stacey's family believes she is innocent because that is the story she is telling them. In part, I'm sure they WANT to believe that Stacey is innocent, that it was just an accident and that their daughter would have never harmed Emma or committed such a hideous crime. She has probably told them that the cops scared her into a false confession and that is why she said the things she did.
Per Tori:
Cromer was worried about what the public was going to think if she accepted, so as my HERO the defender of children and animals, Kelly did not accept it! Judge Z said that the Attorneys will take the time from now until the next date to try to work out a offer that both of them would take. (I am paraphrasing here) JZ (Judge Zacky) said it in legal terms.
it has to be bad enough that Dager is afraid she may get more time at Trial, but if they cannot work out an offer, the Trial will start sometime around Jan 6 or 7 th, I am not sure of the date they said....
just got a guy that beat his girlfriends child to death 65 years, 64 years for the guy that raped a 10 year old girl at the Movie's, and 25 to life for a guy that shot his girlfriend saying it was a accident.
She has had more convictions then just these but these cases show she is a great woman that thinks justice for the Innocent is more then just a couple of years!

Stacey Barker Wants To Make A Deal
Zackey continued, " It's my understanding the parties are having an ongoing discussion regarding this case....we'll see if those discussions are fruitful on December 17th" adding, "Kelly will make a motion......you will make a motion, right?" Cromer agreed. If an agreement can't be reached and this goes to trial, January 7 will be a pre-trial hearing and Zackey said it will start 0 of 59.
We've also heard, but can't confirm, that Stacy Barker is willing to plead guilty to Involuntary Manslaughter and one of the 273 (we assume that is the felony child abuse charge 273a) in exchange for a twenty year sentence with 2 strikes and time served (subtract 20 months and don't forget good-time) . I only bring up the unconfirmed deal (consider it scuttlebutt) as a jumping off point to start a discussion....Do you think the state should negotiate or take this to trial? What type of deal do you think the state could make that would be justice in this case?

see above ^^^ post please!
Thanks for the link, LCM
I am sickened by the audacity of a plea deal for Stacy Barker the baby killer. She does not deserve any shortened prison sentence. She shortened her own baby's life, and needs to serve a long long term in prison for murdering little Emma. Stacy the baby killer had other options for going on with her life without the "burden" of Emma. Others would have gladly taken Emma into their hearts and their homes. Stacy the baby killer did not love Emma and had no qualms about murdering her own child. Stacy the baby killer needs to rot in prison. Truthfully, she stole little Emma's life, so Stacy should pay with hers.
I have a favor to ask of everyone who has been following this case - Katfish has put together a terrific "Opinion" piece at Now Public - would you please read it and add your comments to the piece regarding what would be an appropriate sentence in this case?
I can't say much more than to say the reason I am asking is related to DDA Cromer's comment that she feels the public will not be happy if she under cuts what she feels SB will get, if this case goes to trial...

Thank You All in advance for helping to see Justice for Emma is carried out in this horrific story.

Thank you Caligram and everyone who has posted their opinion at Now Public!! So seldom do we get to make a difference in these cases - but this time we may be helping Emma to get justice!
Great article over there! Thank you, LCM for your determined and ongoing, unwavering and everlasting reports on this case and support for little angel Emma. The "person" who murdered my little angel spent ten years of a ten year sentence. Even though he was in there every minute he was sentenced to be, the sparse length of the sentence still stings. The day of this latest Emma hearing would have been my little guy's sixteenth birthday.
Baby-murderers need to be dealt with more sternly...they wipe out a being with unknown and possibly world-changing potential, and they pay with a decade or two? :banghead:
SB needs to be locked up until her ovaries and every other part of her are nothing but dust.
