The Riverside County Sheriff's Department released a new sketch of a woman who was found dead along Highway 60 about 20 years ago.

On Jan. 27, 1996, a passing motorist saw what looked like a body laying on the road about a mile east of Gilman Springs Road - an area known as the "Badlands."

Sorry the picture is very small on the website -

She has dentals, fingerprints, and DNA. The new sketch is already up, and there's an enhanced photo of her jewelry and rings (on her hand, so if that kind of thing bothers you, don't look...) You can also see the cuff of her sweater--it looks like a basic cotton knit of the kind that was in style in the late 90's.

I think the pictures are similar, and the height is very close (within an inch if my math skills are working today). It would help if there was more information about Veronica. It wouldn't be totally out of the question for someone to disappear from Mexico and turn up dead in California later. One thing I noticed is that she was described as having black hair, while the Jane Doe was said to have dark brown hair (not a big difference). I'm also not sure if she would have been appeared as well-groomed as stated if she had been held captive for close to a year. Still worth looking into. MOO

Yes you are correct but the women missing in California with jewelry reminds me of Mexican jewelry she would get it from Mexico just the design also how her nails are done you can tell she was well groomed but no one knows who she is in California so I’m thinking it had to be someone from Mexico for that simple fact

And you are correct about being held captive for almost a year she was well groomed I did not think about that part , I just don’t understand how this lady is still a Jane Doe

There's always a possibility of her being forced into being a "working girl", but I really don't see her being that well groomed, or dressed as she was if that's the case. (Actually, it seems like those women are seldom found fully clothed at all.) She could have gone to California with a man who just got tired of her, or upset with her, and killed her. If neither of them was originally from the area, she may have never been around anyone there enough to be recognized.

I thought the one in California sounded close, even though he was a couple inches off on height, but his clothes and wallet were apparently found 3 years later, and this John Doe was fully clothed. The one in Kansas sounds like there may be a decent chance of it being him; my only concern would be his clothes and wallet being found in California and his body being in Kansas. Stranger things have happened though. There's no reason to think that he wouldn't have gotten new clothes and maybe lost his wallet when throwing old the old things, but I guess time will tell. Nice finds anyway. MOO

Sorry I’m confused I believe he’s from out of state they never found his body but the last time they talk to him he was in Sacramento California who was found in Kansas

From your 3rd attachment https://www.websleuths.com/forums/attachments/f142de3e-5396-45ee-b3d2-124fbe28f8be-jpeg.137892/ It said that a body exhumed in Kansas the week before (it was in 2016) could be linked to a missing Tulsa man. I think the picture they show is also Alan Soper, but with short hair. He's from Tulsa, Oklahoma.

ETA: I guess you already said all of that! :p
