Could there be some angry victims of abuse, with authority issues....?
"Ex-Hamilton man arrested in '69 sex case
A former Hamilton man who ran the now defunct Way-J Boys Ranch in Ancaster over 40 years ago is facing sexual assault charges involving foster children who stayed at the farm.

Howard Wayne Jones, 68, formerly of Hamilton, who ran the ranch on Powerline Road East in Copetown in 1969, was arrested by the RCMP in Salmon Arm, B.C., Aug. 8, on a Canada-wide warrant issued in Hamilton."

OK, now I wonder where (in relation to AG's house) this place is/was. Hmmmm.......

---------------------------

ETA: Oh my - it looks like it was VERY CLOSE to AG's place in Lynden:

(sorry map didn't work - I'll keep trying)

Now I wonder if AG ever did some tutoring or did a kindness to one of the residents??

(sorry, I can't get my map thing to post correctly - anyone else have the know-how?)

Anyone know the street address of this place on Powerline Road? It's a long road but it does come very close to Indian Trail.

Burlington woman victim of ‘unique’ scam: police
http://www.thespec.com/news/crime/article/579069--burlington-woman-victim-of-unique-scam-police
Halton police have since issued a release urging seniors in the region to be cautious if approached by a man and woman in their mid-30s to early-40s claiming to be lost and looking for the hospital.

The female suspect is described as Caucasian, having a slim build, between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-8, with long dark hair and speaking with a European accent.

Downs said the woman wore big, round dark glasses and a scarf around her neck.

The male suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, with dark hair and having a European accent.

I was trying to find the address, but all I could find was that the area is/was called 'Copetown'. Does that help?

Copetown is just east of Brantford and before Ancaster/Hamilton, if you were travelling east on the 403 - HTH

Okay, this is off topic (I think) but really, this is just so odd and nasty that I just have to post this...

"Low thieves steal child’s lemonade stand

Hamilton police are hunting two low crooks who stole a child’s lemonade stand Thursday.

The 10-year-old girl had her stand set up on Main Street East near Melrose Avenue and was packing up for the day at 5 p.m. when a man and a woman stole everything she had.

The girl had turned her back for about 15 or 20 seconds, police said, and a man and a woman grabbed her little stand and her cooler and threw it in a pickup tuck and took off.

East end detectives are working on finding the pair.

Anyone who saw anything in the area at the time is urged to call police".

According to the link you provided the only thing they stole was the stainless steel cooler.
The police suspect scrap metal collectors.

some snippets from maxfactor's link:
  • Nicholas, Bonnie recalled, was an elegant woman, always dressed up and wearing jewellery and make-up. Although she never married, she spoiled her nieces and nephews with Christmas gifts and fun outings.
  • "Those of you who know her well know that she had her opinions and she wasn't afraid to share them," Bonnie said. "She was an incredibly strong woman with the energy of someone half her age."
  • Friends and fellow church members spoke about her long career as a nurse, her quirky sense of humour and her love of a good joke

They took her little stand too.
I wonder if it was set up close to the curb, and since the girl had already packed up it looked as if it was put there for the garbage truck or for anyone who wanted to take it
Oops! only now I notice that the article has been updated, and lots more details were added.

They don't get much lower than this!! D I S G U S T I N G!!!

Hmmm -- there is something about this case that doesn't sit well with me. I hope LE is working from the inner circle first, i.e. the entire congregation -- and then fanning out. This lady was close to so many. I feel this case will be solved soon.

Just a hunch, but motive is probably something to do with money. Sometimes, when one is so admired and loved by others, there is much jealousy, thus it may have become too much for the perp to handle and they wanted this dear woman out of the picture.

There are many scenarios/possibilities surrounding this crime. It was bold, considering where her home was. The perp(s) were quite brazen and confident.

COBOURG –– A Campbellford man made his first appearance in the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg Monday after having been charged with first degree murder in the death earlier this month of Lillian Beryl Nicholas.

Hmm, now where have I seen a picture before of a young man with a close cropped bangs...

"Asked whether there are any other suspects, Glassford would only say,

"the investigation is ongoing and we'll see where it leads us."

I think I know what you're thinking dotr and i must agree!!!

I haven't watched this case too closely recently. But I wonder if Canadian LE has looked into this guy with regard to this case. I know the MO is different and there was a murder, but if he's done robbery, he could have graduated. He did personal injury to one victim who caught onto his scheme and when he realized he'd been caught, he robbed her and fled.

Don't know if this guy's connected, but they might pass his photo around. They say he hides in plane sight. He also is untraceable. I've looked into a few other elderly murders and there are a few in the general vicinity. Plus, this guy has been traced, at one time, close to this area. He's been alluding Canadian LE for a few years now.

Who knows, maybe this victim was by her garage because he was trying to get her to make a bank withdrawal and she objected and he killed her.

He's wanted for crimes in, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Medicine Hat, and Calgary. Then there's this crime in Ancaster, with an additional one in Cambellford, and one in Rock Forest. Do a mapquest of the locations and you'll see many are within the same vicinity.

Maybe a wild-goose chase, but something to ponder.............and sleuth into. :)

I mentioned Rupert a couple of times quite awhile ago, because I had wondered if he had stepped up the violence after being featured on AMW.Spotted him couple times and phoned it in last year.
