Rest in peace sweet girl. You're the same age as my daughter. [emoji20]I hope there is justice for you.

Given the size and remoteness of Garden Hill I suspect the suspect pool is quite small. Let's just hope people don't close ranks around the perp(s) in order to protect him/her/them as sometimes happens in small, closed communities. :(

This reminds me of Jenise Wright; she also freely roamed her community.

While I wasn't a free-range parent I kind of, sort of understand the thinking, at least when the family lives in such a small community. In that case parents are comfortable letting their kid come and go as they please, even at a young age. I suppose that would include spending time at friends' houses without telling their parents. I dunno, maybe it's a stretch; I'm trying to understand the timeline from that point of view and it's not easy.

But if the timeline was muddied on purpose then I know where I'd start my investigation.

Why are residents directly involved in the search? This should be an RCMP based search. What if the killer is the one finding the items and evidence?

IMO: the murderer has no choice but to go help the community look! this all just makes me so mad..
Watch the RCMP get kicked off the reserve now or something silly like that

Well, still no news. I wonder if the perp showed up at the vigil? This usually happens. JMO

Hundreds of volunteers have joined the search of the heavily wooded areas around the northern Manitoba community over two weeks after remains were first found.
...
Monias said a curfew has been in place in Garden Hill since the girl's death. "Everyone is hurt. And everyone has to recover. We want to heal as a community."

The school gym has been set up as a cafeteria for volunteers and the school buses are being used to carry searchers to various search sites.

The reserves have their own police departments. The RCMP are called if more resources are needed.

The spot on Garden Hill where 11-year-old Teresa Robinson's remains were found. Service at WPG church tonight

What a pretty little girl. Why are the RCMP so certain that this was foul play? (not being cheeky- a real question). I've gone through the thread and can't find the reason.

Are there any updates on Teresa's case? Has anyone been found responsible?Beautiful girl, so sad. [emoji853]

Seems like the DNA testing was the right idea.

OMG! Can't wait to hear who he is?
I'm so glad they got someone.

The RCMP are supposed to release some details tomorrow (Friday).

“While we understand that this arrest will generate a lot of questions, we are not in a position to provide further information at this time, as there are a number of investigative steps currently being taken,” RCMP spokesman Sergeant Bert Paquet said in a statement. The Manitoba RCMP are expected to provide additional details Friday.

Teresa’s killing came almost exactly one year after the RCMP released an unprecedented report that found 1,181 indigenous women and girls were killed or went missing in Canada between 1980 and 2012. The report and several high-profile attacks on indigenous women, including an assault that nearly killed a Garden Hill-born woman in Winnipeg in the fall of 2014, reignited calls for a national inquiry into the violence. The federal Liberal government has said an inquiry will be under way by the summer.
