ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Police have a suspect in the disappearance and death of Aleszandra "Alie" Berrelez, a cold case that has spanned 18 years.
The 5-year-old girl disappeared on May 18, 1993, from the Golden Nugget apartment complex on Grand Avenue in Englewood. Her body was found four days later in Deer Creek Canyon in Jefferson County.
Her body was in a duffel bag that had been tossed down a ravine. She was still dressed in the denim jumper she was wearing when she disappeared. She had been smothered to death.

What was remarkable, IMO, was the fact that Alie's lifeless body was found in the mountains 14 miles away from her home, by a bloodhound named Yogi. http://www.unsolved.com/ajaxfiles/mur_alie_berrelez.htm

RIP Sweet Alie. I hope you and Yogi are having a blast playing in Heaven together!
