APD meets with cold case team

Fruitless leads are motivating the Alamosa Police Department (APD) investigation team to call on outside resources to intensify the search for Angelica Sandoval.

Although he would not disclose the unit’s recommendations, Jackson said the case remains open, it is the primary interest of the department and there are no substantial leads.

Family misses Angelica on 23rd birthday

Angelica Sandoval is 23 years old today, but her family will not be able to wish her a happy birthday in person.

Angelica’s mother, Michelle, said on Thursday there are still few leads on her daughter’s whereabouts, but whenever family and friends get a tip, they follow it. They recently searched for barrels in a canyon area, for example. Nothing has led to Angelica.

Michelle said Angelica’s daughter misses her mom daily.

“She still cries for her mom and asks for her daily,” she said.

Police pursue leads on missing mom

Alamosa police are still investigating the February 2011 disappearance of then-21-year-old Alamosa mom Angelica Sandoval.

“We are following leads as they come in,” Alamosa Police Department Lieutenant Duane Oakes said on Monday.

This is one of the first cases I got involved with when I joined Websleuths. I've had communication with the family since and this is a case I wish was solved. Such a tragic way to disappear and I hope this reaches someone that has knowledge to what really happened..
