Police on Thursday morning matched a license plate number to the Tahoe found abandoned near Denver International Airport, which was missing its rear license plate and may have been set on fire, FOX affiliate KDVR reported.

Police on Thursday morning matched a license plate number to the Tahoe found abandoned near Denver International Airport, which was missing its rear license plate and may have been set on fire, FOX affiliate KDVR reported.

I live here in Colorado and it is so sad the we have lost such a bright promising young man. It is a terribly tragedy!

To update prior posts, Darrent's children were ages 9 and 4. He was involved with the Boys and Girls club here in CO, he didn't want the accolades and until his death, only the children who are at those clubs knew of Darrent's involvement.

It is being reported that the car was NOT set on fire and all evidence should be intact.

RIP Darrent Williams. You will be truly missed~

I am sorry that your state lost Darrent.


Apparently the ones involved were wearing gang colors.
The Crips to be exact.
It is not believed that Darrent was involved in gangs. It could have been someone who was in Darrent's vehicle that was the target of the gang.
Even though the windows were tinted in the vehicle that Darrent was in, it would have been known by the gang members who had their sights on a rival or one of their own who wanted out of the gang.
Just a thought.

[Willie] Clark was convicted of murdering Williams and attempting to murder sixteen other people in the early hours of New Year's Day 2007. Prosecutors said he fired shots out the window of a white Chevy Tahoe into a stretch Hummer limo carrying Williams and his friends. Williams was hit in the neck and died soon afterward.

The shooting was motivated, prosecutors said, by an altercation that happened earlier that night at a Golden Triangle nightclub, where several Broncos players were celebrating New Year's Eve. Clark and his friend Daniel Harris were also at the club, and they became upset when someone in the Broncos' entourage shook up a bottle of champagne and popped the cork...

He was sentenced to life in prison for Williams's murder, plus 1,152 years for the attempted murders.
