Christine was a great mother, daughter, and sister. She always took care of her nephew Dominic and they both enjoyed spending their quality time together. Christine also enjoyed doing puzzles with her niece Serena when she would stop over her mother's house after work. The family would like to thank both Christine's job, "Bright Morning Star Child Care", as well as all the Bridgeport Public Schools for all the love and support. The family would also like to express their gratitude to the community, friends, and family members near and far that have contributed their love and support for all of Christine's family during this difficult time.

Anyone with information on Vanessa’s whereabouts should call the FBI at 203 503 5555 or Ansonia police at 203 735 1885.

Vanessa’s father was arrested Dec. 3 on weapons charges at his New Haven residence after Ansonia police served a search and seizure warrant connected to Holloway’s death/homicide investigation. Police allegedly found two stun guns, according to an arrest report, and called New Haven police because the father is not allowed to possess weapons since his is a convicted felon. New Haven police arrested the father, who is being held on a $250,000 bond.

Ansonia police also served a search and seizure warrant on the father’s “person,” according to the arrest document. No information on that has been released.

Police said last week the father was cooperative.

Bloody material or clothing recovered connected to Holloway’s death originated in a clothes-donation bin across from 112 Derby Ave. Police searched the area Dec. 6. Derby police put out a message last week asking for anyone with home security footage from Division Street to Route 34 on the Orange town line call authorities at 203 503 5555.

On Saturday, Dec. 7, police received a report of a car seat left in a parking lot on Ella Grasso Boulevard. Ansonia police said the car seat is not connected to their investigation.

Finally, Ansonia police responded to a viral social media post asking people to put out a red light as a signal to Vanessa’s alleged kidnapper that she could be dropped off at a red light home with no questions asked.

Police said people can put out a red light as a symbol of their support for Vanessa and efforts to find her.

But they said the child should be brought to a hospital, fire department or police department.

Editor’s note: DO NOT ENCOURAGE THE CHILDTO BE DROPPED OFF AT A RANDOM HOME.

“We are asking all the people who have shared the red light message to please add to their message that Vanessa should be brought to a local hospital, fire department, or police department,” Ansonia Police Lt. Patrick Lynch said in a statement Sunday.

The morning snowfall did nothing to deter family and friends gathered Wednesday for the funeral service at St. Andrew Catholic Church for Christine Holloway, who was found dead Dec. 2 and whose toddler daughter is still missing.

In the wake of the tragedy, people have rallied around the Holloway family, including Wusthof USA in Norwalk, where Holloway’s brother, Steven, works. An employee there confirmed that money is being raised for the family.

Holloway’s 1-year-old daughter, Vanessa Morales, is still missing and police are investigating both incidents.

Federal, State, and local law enforcement have repeatedly searched a section of Naugatuck State Forest over the last week and half, a 5,000 acre track of heavy woods bordering several towns and split by the Naugatuck River.

Deputy Chief of Naugatuck Police Department, Colin McAllister, describing the search location as “a mix of generally very remote area as well as some residential areas.”

Ansonia Police confirm the search is connected to Holloway’s murder and Vanessa’s search.

McAllister says the State Park is active even during cold and snowy conditions, so authorities are putting out the alert for anyone who may have been trekking through the area recently to wrack their memories for anything that might have been out of the ordinary.

“Anybody in these types of situations who walks their dogs or hike in these types of situations is going to notice what might be out of place. We would encourage them to have a heightened sense of awareness and contact us so we can immediately respond.”

As of Tuesday, investigators were in Naugatuck looking into a link to Holloway’s death and Vanessa’s disappearance. The investigation has led police to searches throughout the region, including in Hamden and Stratford.

One person unable to attend the funeral was Josh Morales, of Naugatuck, whose uncle is Jose Morales, Vanessa’s father. Though he organized some friends to hand out fliers last week seeking information about Vanessa, Josh Morales said he was unable to attend the service because he had to work Wednesday.

However, he did go to the wake for Holloway on Tuesday at Parente-Lauro Funeral Home in Bridgeport, and said the tone of that gathering was positive. Morales said mourners spoke about Holloway’s pride at being the first person in her family to graduate from college, and her commitment to being a mother.

“She was just so joyful about her child,” Josh Morales said. “There was not a negative word said.”

As they search for Holloway’s killer, their priority is finding the little girl who they still believe is alive.

Police have not named a suspect in Holloway’s death.

Ansonia’s mayor, David Cassetti, who said he receives updates from the chief of police on the case daily, said he believes there will be a resolution before Christmas. However, he also expressed concern that too much time has passed since Vanessa went missing.

“I think It’s been way too long. You’re talking a week and a half now and there’s no sign of this little girl. Come on, someone please come forward whoever you are and show us that she’s ok,” Cassetti pleaded.

Sources tell News 8 that police will officially release a suspect’s name and picture sometime in the next couple of days. We’re also told police still have hope that little Vanessa is alive and tips continue to pour in.

“That is our working premise and that will continue to be our working premise until we are given something to the contrary.”
– LT. PATRICK LYNCH, ANSONIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Lt. Patrick Lynch of the Ansonia PD tells News 8 that he thinks, the way the investigation is going, that they will have answers on both cases “relatively shortly.”

“We think that at the pace we’re going we’re going to have answers relatively shortly.

Does that mean in terms of who killed Christine Holloway or who may have Vanessa? At this point we’re not going to differentiate between the two, this is one investigation.”

ANSONIA — Law enforcement sources tell FOX61’s Tony Terzi that they have named Jose Morales as a suspect in the brutal death of Christine Holloway, his girlfriend and mother of 1-year-old Vanessa Morales.

Vanessa is still missing, as the search for the missing 1-year-old Vanessa Morales expanded into town of Naugatuck Tuesday.

Lt. Patrick Lynch of Ansonia confirmed that the FBI were in the town searching that morning.

Police could not say where exactly the search was happening, but said it was in connection with the Amber Alert.
