⁍ Scientists track threats by monitoring nuclear weapons and climate change
⁍ Nuclear modernisation, climate change reports and terrorism could feature
⁍ Expected to reveal the board's decision regarding the clock's minute hand
⁍ The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists (BAS) will host a live international news conference to make a 'major announcement' Thursday
⁍ Last time, Doomsday Clock minute hand moved was in January 2012, pushed ahead one minute from six to five minutes before midnight

the story, with a bright array of pics, charts, sidebars, etc., at Daily Mail link above

Earlier WS threads:

Doomsday clock moved closer to midnight (2012)

Doomsday clock moved forward... (2007)

Obligatory obscure great song reference:

Obligatory cultural n.b.:

Domesday Book (Wiki)

Haven't we heard this before, say sometime around the year 2000?!

And 2012. I can't get excited about a symbolic clock. If we're doomed, knowing about it won't prevent it.

So, first they invent the atomic bomb and then they invent a symbolic clock to beat us over the head with?
