Just so I'm not misunderstood, I'm ALWAYS passionate about seeing both sides. I'm almost always smack dab in the middle. If this forum were bashing Tray and only seeing GZ's side in this two-sided story, I'd be taking his side.

There ARE two sides here, and this forum for the time being is only seeing Tray's, so I'm here to try to state GZ's side of things.

And I personally believe GZ's injuries are more severe than the board believes at this point. But only because of what I've read in a comments section at the end of a MSM article, by someone who claimed to know him, so it's rumor and can't be cited.

BBM

The problem is, that's exactly what the Sanford Police Department has been doing from the very beginning.

People who "claim to know him" also state that at no time did GZ ever follow TM, yet we know from Zimmerman's own admission on the 911 tapes that that is NOT the case.

It has been mentioned on WS about George Zimmerman's parents occupations. I have not heard it on any television media. I am surprised that GVM or Vinnie hasn't mentioned it. I think it is clearly a conflict of interest.

>Zimmerman said his father was a magistrate for Virginia Supreme Court and mother was a deputy court clerk. He stated that he had the utmost respect for law enforcement and aspired to be an officer someday.<

And what exactly do you base this on? Can you site a similar case in Fl where this in fact happened?

My own common sense after walking this earth for nearly 50 years, being a news junkie for a good part of that; my knowledge that black on white crime is generally much more harshly punished than white on black crime (see Rodney King); my knowledge of the history of race relations in the South.

I just checked my FB page as I posted a link to the petition this am. One of my friends commented on my page that GZ worked for him for 3 years and was a nice guy, would help anybody out, not a racist, keep an open mind, yadda yadda.

I wasn't sure how to respond. How should one respond when someone defends a murderer?

Well we keep hearing about how Trayvon was a good kid and never got in trouble, etc. If it's relevant for him it should be relevant for GZ.

Then is it relevant that GZ was previously charged with battery on a police officer and resisting arrest?

They did mention it last night, I think it was on JVM, I can't recall if they specifically brought up what his parents did for a living but it was asked how it was possible that GZ's charge for attacking a police officer was expunged from his record. The attorney said that they looked into it and know the reason but she didn't say what it was.

She did have kind of a smirk on her face when she said it. Of course that may be just my interpretation and it may mean nothing or the smirk may have meant something.

Respectfully snipped for space.
If this is in fact the case, even more reason the PD should have taken pictures and his injuries listed in the preliminary report - which apparently neither happened.

Again, I cannot believe all of the failures by the PD in a homicide case.

That's not the case here as one of the two people involved in this tragedy just so happens to be dead!!

From http://blogs.phillymag.com/the_philly_post/2012/03/20/florida-teen-trayvon-martin-murdered/

In fact, he had been arrested, charged and prosecuted in July 2005 for assaulting an Orange County police officer. The lead offense was the felony “Resisting Officer With Violence—Battery On Law Enforcement,” and the second was a misdemeanor. But, for some strange (i.e., white-privilege) reason, and despite the officer’s sworn affidavit accusing Zimmerman of the violent assault, the county prosecutor on June 15, 2006 agreed to enroll Zimmerman into a program similar to Pennsylvania’s Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition, which in both (and other) states is only for “non-violent first offenders.” In Florida, it’s called Pre-Trial Diversion. Once a defendant completes that program, the arrest record is technically expunged. Contrary to media reports, however, Zimmerman’s case was never dismissed. It was simply hidden—unless of course you have a computer and check the county court clerk’s public website.

That July, Zimmerman — 21 at the time — was at a bar near the University of Central Florida when a friend was arrested by state alcohol agents on suspicion of serving underage drinkers, according to an arrest report.

Zimmerman was talking with his friend, became profane and pushed an agent who tried to escort him away, the report said. Authorities said he was arrested after a short struggle.

Charged with resisting arrest without violence, he avoided conviction by entering a pretrial-diversion program, something common for first-time offenders.

A month later, court records show, a woman filed a petition for an injunction against Zimmerman, citing domestic violence. It's unclear what led to the petition, but Zimmerman responded by filing a petition of his own the following day.

Not to mention the following...

In 2005, George Zimmerman was twice accused of either criminal misconduct or violence.

That July, Zimmerman — 21 at the time — was at a bar near the University of Central Florida when a friend was arrested by state alcohol agents on suspicion of serving underage drinkers, according to an arrest report.

Also of note from this article is this...

Capital One accused Zimmerman of failing to pay more than $1,000. He settled with the company for $2,135.82, records show, to cover his debts with interest, as well as attorney and court costs. However, the credit-card company soon reported that Zimmerman wasn't making the payments he had agreed to.

and last but certainly not least....
Records show Zimmerman is not the owner of the townhome where he lives in the gated Sanford community.

So it appears that Mr. Zimmerman is protecting a neighborhood in which he doesn't even own the property.

Have you listened to the screams on the 911 tapes?

Who does that sound like to you? A grown man or a teenager? You hear the gunshot and the screaming immediately stops. So what you are saying is this man, who outweighed this kid by 100 lbs, was losing this tussle on the ground, was pleading for his life, then it dawned on him, "shoot, i have a gun, i almost forget, better use it!" I got this from CNN...

Another caller, Selma Mora Lamilla, said she did not hear any altercation, but the teen cried and "whimpered" before the shooting.

She described Zimmerman as "straddling" the teen after the shooting, saying he was "on his knees on top of a body."
Does this sound like GZ, the much larger man... was losing???

You have 2 guys, 2 intents. This kid's intent is to get home to give his brother some candy. The other guy's intent, is to go out of his way to confront this kid. From the start of this you have been passionate about seeing GZ's side of this, where its been CLEAR that because of HIS actions, this child is now dead.

So how was it that GZ who outweighed Trayvon by 100 lbs caught up to him if Trayvon was just trying to get home/run away? Trayvon obviously stopped to confront GZ at some point.

I don't think this charge was expunged from his record, as MSM found out about it within a few days.

If it were me, and I had actually had these awful injuries which would show how I was viciously beaten and show people that I had a reason to be in fear of my life, I would go to the hospital and get the records, get statements from the doctors, do what I had to do to show everyone that I really did have injuries that indicated my truthfulness....Just sayin.....

We don't even know for certain that he was rendered any medical assistance that night...I have yet to see anyone that claims he was treated and released, which doesn't look real good if he didn't even have an injury that was worth having a medical professional look at it.

Zimmerman knew the layout of the complex far better than Trayvon. Why isn't it just as if not more likely that he cut through the units to head Trayvon off?

have you listened to the available 911 calls? Have you heard the interview with GZ's neighbor?

One thing becomes very clear, there had been breakins in the neighborhood, possibly vandalism and petty theft. The culprits had been identified by GZ's wife, and possibly others as a group of young black males. It seems that they tended to enter and leave by some back gate, and according to GZ, these A----S always get away.

Every bit of information we have would lead a reasonable person to believe that if Trayvon had been white that GZ would never have singled him out to follow or interrogate.

Even one of GZ's neighbors said that GZ circulated a profile of a suspicious person who they thought was a criminal, and since the neighbor was black and fit the profile, he wouldn't even walk around in his own neighborhood.

Thats how I know that and it isn't a strerch or a leap of logic it is a logical and reasonable conclusion.

It's not reasonable at all. If this guy was so obsessed with being a cop-like neighborhood watch hero, as everyone claims, he would have jumped on any opportunity to use his "authority". Any teen would have been fine in that situation if he were looking for a confrontation.

Whaa? :waitasec:

in fact the information from the girlfriend on the phone tends to bear this out since she says that TM mentioned that he was being followed, and then told her he thought he had lost the guy, and then all of a sudden GZ was there again confronting him.

She also said that TM said he would not run but that he would walk fast, problably under the mistaken impression that to be seen running through the neighborhood might bring more negative attention and look suspicious.
