I wonder what information they have that led them to expand the search across the country. I don't think I have seen the FBI do this before. Anyone else?

Wondering the same thing!

From above:

"Search for Naomi Jones enters day 2

Local authorities are broadening their search for a 12-year-old Pensacola girl who has been missing since Wednesday.

Naomi Jeanell Jones was last seen in front of Aspen Village Apartments, 1460 E. Johnson Ave.

The Escambia County Sheriff's Office entered large-scale search operations on Thursday, going door-to-door in the surrounding community and, with help from the KlaasKids Foundation, recruiting volunteers to comb through nearby woods and subdivisions.

The search efforts continued through the night, and by Friday had expanded to approximately 150 personnel including the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the FBI and community volunteers. The officials began searching local waterways Friday, and are reaching out urging officials in Alabama and other neighboring areas to be on the lookout for Naomi in their communities."

Sad that she is still missing. I hope she is home safe soon but not looking good. :(

"Sheriff says they are filtering through conflicting stories about where #NaomiJones went before going missing."

Oh man :(. That does not sound very good.

Time missing can now be from noon to as late as 4 pm.
Developed a couple of people of interest
This is the kind of crime they dread because they do not have defined crime scene.
Naomi just had a birthday.:(
Stress every effort is being made to locate her.
Think of things you have seen it may lead to locating her.

So thankful we have a local chapter of KlaasKids-those people are amazingly dedicated. I'm not a big fan of our sheriff, but I believe his department, other agencies, and the community are coming together to bring her home. I wish they would let her dog try and find her. Please come home safe, Naomi!

Is any news station going to do an article about the press conference? Am I just not finding them?

[h=1]UPDATE: Officials release new details on missing girl as case reaches 48-hour mark[/h]
UPDATE: (Friday, 3:53 p.m.) The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, the Florida State Attorney’s Office and Pensacola Police Department held a press conference updating the status of the search for Naomi Jones at 3 p.m.

Sheriff David Morgan says multiple agencies — including state, federal and volunteers — have been on-alert and searching 24 hours a day, “shaking trees and patrolling the waterways.”
Morgan says the county has “people flying in from around the United States to help search for” Naomi, who was first reported to have gone missing at 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Morgan says that time frame has been expanded to any time between noon and 4 p.m. that day.
Pensacola Police Chief Chip Simmons also shared additional details about Naomi’s life. She turned 12 on April 15 and recently graduated elementary school.

Morgan says her parents, who are divorced, have been very communicative with law enforcement.
