I couldn't watch over the weekend so I missed the verdict but am so glad justice prevailed and it sounds like on all counts! :)

Does anyone know if websleuths is following Crystal Mangum lacrosse rape fraud and now up on murder charges. A swell gal!
 
If the live feed doesn't start today; they start on Tuesday. I think I read and heard that the penalty phase begins tuesday. And Yes I'm following the Mangum case. :)
 
jury recommends DP by 12-0 majority, Judge will now decide if that is the sentence he will impose
 
TAMPA — Dontae Morris was sentenced to death Friday for murdering two Tampa police officers during a traffic stop in 2010.

Morris, already facing life in prison for an unrelated murder conviction, was given the sentences by Hillsborough Circuit Judge William Fuente.

Nearly four years ago, Tampa police Officers David Curtis and Jeffrey Kocab were shot at close range and left to die along an East Tampa road.

Jury: Dontae Morris is guilty of fourth murder

TAMPA — Dontae Morris faced his third jury in as many years on Wednesday, and they rendered the same verdict as the first two: he was found guilty of first-degree murder, this time for the fatal shooting of Derek Anderson in May 2010.

Anderson died 42 days before Morris shot and killed Tampa police Officers David Curtis and Jeffrey Kocab, the crime that made him one of the area's most infamous killers. In all, Morris has been convicted in four of the five murders he is accused of in 2010.

Jury recommends third death sentence for Tampa cop-killer Dontae Morris

TAMPA — The jury that found Dontae Morris guilty of killing Derek Anderson decided Thursday that his murderer should be sent to a very familiar place: Florida's death row.

The jury voted 10-2 to recommend a sentence of death in Anderson's slaying. It is the third time a jury has chosen death for Morris, one of Tampa Bay's most infamous cop killers.

Morris, 29, already is on death row for the murders of two Tampa police officers, is serving a life sentence for a fourth murder and awaits trial for a fifth murder.

[FONT=&amp]TALLAHASSEE — The Florida Supreme Court on Thursday overturned the death sentence of Dontae Morris in the 2010 killing of Derek Anderson in Tampa.

The justices upheld Morris’ first-degree murder conviction, but in a 5-2 decision they ruled that Morris must be resentenced because of the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Hurst vs. Florida that the state’s former death penalty sentencing system was unconstitutional because it limited the role of the jury in capital punishment cases.
