Identified! FL - Palm Beach Co, near State Rd 703, WhtFem 14-15, UP16314, in woods, Jun'74 - Suzanne Gale Poole

A few other possibilities: Judy Davis went missing in 1972 from Jacksonville, FL http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/d/davis_judy.html. Her hair is listed as "blonde" but looks dark in her picture. Angela Ramsey http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/r/ramsey_angela.html was last seen in 1977 when she was 16, her hair is also listed as being blonde but looks brown. Someone else mentioned Eva Ridall earlier http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/r/ridall_eva.html. Carol Roberts was last seen driving her car with a male companion; who claimed in the middle of trip together they argued and she abandoned him, leaving him alone with her car in his possession http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/r/roberts_carol.html. Probably unlikely, but presumed Gerald Stano victim Susan Basile was 12 when she vanished in 1975 http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/b/basile_susan.html. Also previously mentioned but unlikely are Cynthia Gooding http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/g/gooding_cynthia.html and Teresa Alfonso http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/a/alfonso_teresa.html, 16 and 12 respectively, went missing together in the Florida Keys in 1974.

I think out of all the potential candidates that I've come across I like Teresa Fittin the best, even with her age being above the estimate. Minus that, most of her demographics match; she was also the closest to Palm Beach County when she went missing. Link to Teresa's Thread: http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...Lauderdale-1-Aug-1975&highlight=teresa+fittin.

It could be her, but I have to question the missing car as well. Teresa's car was never found, either, which in most cases could mean it ended up in a body of water, along with the missing person. It's possible though the car was disposed of in a different location and has just never been found, too.

That was something I considered too. In instances when someone goes missing along with a vehicle and neither is recovered, often the first thing we think is car accident; particularly involving heavily forested areas or, like Alleykins mentioned, bodies of water. I think if she had parked her car somewhere and then fell victim to foul play or an accident afterwords it would have been found. If Teresa did fall victim to foul play there's a good chance she might have been separated from her car. If it ended up in a 'chop shop' or other questionable place to be disposed of there likely would have been no record of it unlike in a legitimate junk/scrap yard. Either a missed accident or destruction of the car could both be possible explanations as to why there's been no sign of it anywhere.

My guess would be that she accidentally drove into a body of water. There are canals all over Broward County Florida where she was last seen. Just recently, the vehicle connected with the disappearance of Dana Null and Harry Wade Atchison (LKA in 1978) was found in a canal in Broward County. From what I understand, several bones were found also, but I am not sure whether the bones were ever identified as belonging to Null and/or Atchison.

I think the general consensus of law enforcement is missing person+missing car over a long period of time = most likely in a body of water. I did a blog about this when NC authorities pulled Amos Shook's car out of Lake Rhodhiss and found his remains inside. He went missing in 1972. Neither he or his car were seen again (until 2015)
This is what one of the investigators on his case had to say about that:
"The fact that he went missing with a car and the car had never been located — generally we find a car," Hartley said. "My belief is if you don't find a car in 43 years, it's in the water somewhere probably."

It's possible the car was found in another jurisdiction and not connected to her.

I agree, when a car is never found it almost always th]urns up underwater. Time and experience have taught us that.

I see some good possibles here. Has anyone been submitted?

This girl went missing no later than 1974.

Think any potential candidates being submitted will need to wait awhile because there seems to be no way to compare anyone yet. No DNA or fingerprints available and her dental chart is still pending entry into NamUs.

Yes, that does explain a few things actually. If the new date is correct, that would conclusively rule out Teresa Fittin as she didn't go missing until the following year.

There's been a change to this girl's NamUs page: her date of discovery was formerly listed as April 15, 2014; it has been changed to June 16, 1974.

Yes, that is the date she was found. I am sorry that I could not tell everybody that....but when we were given the information we were asked to not share the details. Her body was exhumed in April 2014. Also, they have no exact hair color on this girl. All they have is several different colors that were listed in the police notes. Which is why I said do not limit your search to strawberry blonde.

Also, I do not think it is listed in NAMUS yet, but they do have mtDNA on her.

I always think of Amy Billig. But she was 5'5" and had brown hair. Amy went missing in March, 1974.

Yes.......that is another case that weighs heavily on my heart. She was wearing a denim skirt and traces of denim were found.....so it is possible.......I'd so love for that child to go home.

Out of my previous suggestions, only Judy Davis is still a viable candidate with the updated timeline http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/d/davis_judy.html. Amy Billig should definitely be considered http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/b/billig_amy.html. Alexis Duggan may be a bit old and had a child but still a possibility http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/d/duggan_alexis.html. Sherry Pickle was possibly a runaway when she went missing; she has previously broken her ankle http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/p/pickle_sherry.html. Kathleen Rodgers likely was a runaway, at least initially and was living away from home at the time she went missing http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/r/rodgers_kathleen.html. Brenda Davidson might be a bit tall, but it's reported that she had previously talked about running away to Florida and was allegedly seen buying a bus ticket on the afternoon of her disappearance http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/d/davidson_brenda.html.
