This is absolutely disgusting. I don't understand they said she didn't suffer, how do they know that I think breathing in dirt would be suffering, if there was no trama to the body then she wasn't knocked out, there were no drugs so what makes them think she did not suffer? Of course she suffered and the a$$ that did this to her should suffer to!

Autopsy: Nevaeh possibly buried alive
Autopsy report says Monroe girl died after inhaling dirt
Wednesday, July 15, 2009
<snipped>
The office received the autopsy results from the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office on Tuesday.

"The autopsy results have revealed that Nevaeh's death was caused by aspiration of (dirt)," according to a press release from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office. "This means that Nevaeh's face was forcibly maintained or embedded into a dirt surface. Whether this resulted from another person forcibly pressing her face into dirt or whether she was buried alive could not be determined."

Mike Buchanan, Nevaeh's uncle, said the family has been in rare contact with authorities since Nevaeh's funeral. He said he last spoke with Monroe County Sheriff's Office officials the day after the funeral.

"I haven't heard nothing from any of them. I don't know how to take it," said Buchanan who spoke to The News before he found out about the results of the autopsy report. "There's a lot of stuff swirling around, but we're only waiting for the truth. It's difficult to talk about it."

Two men, both sex offenders, were arrested. One of the men questioned by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office is George Kennedy, who had served time for having sex with a 15-year-old girl. Nevaeh's mother and Kennedy had dated before they became close friends. Kennedy, who remains a person of interest in the case, is in custody on a parole violation. Roy Lee Smith, another person of interest in the case, also is in custody for violating parole because of his contact with Nevaeh.

Was Nevaeh buried alive?
Autopsy results show 5-year-old died after inhaling dirt
July 15, 2009
<snipped>
Nevaeh's aunt, Diana Lawson, confirmed that the family had been told by police that the girl might have been alive when she was placed in a shallow grave along the River Raisin in Raisinville Township.

"It's the worst nightmare," Lawson told the Free Press. "All we can do is take it one step at a time."

Testing on the girl's body, including her lungs, shows that she died after inhaling dirt.

Authorities previously reported that she had no outward signs of trauma that illuminated how she died. Investigators have received only partial results of tests the Michigan State Police crime lab conducted on evidence from the grave site.

Nevaeh's mother and grandmother, Jennifer and Sherry Buchanan, are heartbroken, Lawson said.

UPDATE: Nevaeh may have been buried alive
Girl, 5, died of asphyxiation, inhaled dirt, autopsy shows
Article published July 15, 2009
<snipped>
Diana Lawson, Nevaeh's great-aunt, said detectives went yesterday to the Food Town in Monroe where her sister Sherry Buchanan works to discuss the autopsy findings. "They said to her Nevaeh was buried alive," Ms. Lawson said. "She had a little dirt in her throat. She didn't suffer anything."

Mr. Lawson said that state taxpayers will end up footing the bill if the killer or killers are arrested and convicted.

"This guy, if they catch him, will end up getting three meals a day and watching cable TV," he said. "The person needs to be caught. That is the main thing. Until the person is caught, every child in this community is in danger."

When asked if there was any solace to autopsy findings that Nevaeh may have died unconscious and didn't suffer trauma, Mr. Lawson said: "It makes it worse. She was buried alive. That's got to be the cruelest way to go - to have all that fear in you when you are dying."

Sheriff Crutchfield said "We continue to interview people daily. We are working on tips and they lead us to other tips. We have to clarify those tips and move on," the sheriff said.

Sheriff Crutchfield said testing being conducted at the Michigan State Police Crime Laboratory on evidence recovered at the gravesite is ongoing. He refused to comment on what was found at the scene.

According to a statement from the sheriff's office: "The autopsy results have revealed that Nevaeh's death was caused by aspiration of fine particulate material (dirt). This means that Nevaeh's face was forcibly maintained or embedded into a dirt surface. Whether this resulted from another person forcibly pressing her face into dirt or whether she was buried alive could not be determined. Toxicology was noncontributory."

Tuesday night some of her family and friends gathered at the Charlotte Arms apartments where Nevaeh was last seen.

"I really don't feel relieved yet, I want to know who the killers are, if they're still out there. The only thing I can say to them is that we've gotten this far, a step closer and before we know it we will see you in court and we will ask you why you did what you did," said Nevaeh's great aunt Diana Lawson.

"Now knowing that they've found more information, they need to just go find some more and hopefully catch whoever did it and if they're watching, they need to tell them what they did," said Buchanan family friend Dorothy Morse.

Shock and anger spread through the Charlotte Arms apartment complex as word got out of how Nevaeh died. Detectives with the Monroe County sheriff's department spoke with Nevaeh's mother, Jennifer Buchanan, explaining the autopsy results.

The girl's cause of death has been ruled asphyxiation by the medical examiner. She died after inhaling dirt. According to the Monroe County sheriff's department, whether this resulted from another person forcibly pressing her face into dirt or whether she was buried alive could not be determined. But family members say investigators told Jennifer that Nevaeh was buried alive. There is no word yet if there was any evidence of sexual assault.

"The fact that Nevaeh was buried alive is gut wrenching. It's hard to even explain the thoughts of what she had to go through," says Nevaeh's cousin Shaun Lawson.

The sheriff's department is waiting more results from the Michigan state police crime lab on the analysis of evidence recovered at the gravesite. Investigators continue to request and follow up on tips from the public. Still no suspects have been identified.

Nevaeh may have been buried alive
Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 8:42 a.m.

The Monroe County Sheriff Office says Nevaeh Buchanan was either buried alive along the River Raisin or had her face pressed into dirt suffocating her to death.

The statement came Tuesday as autopsy results came back indicating the 5-year-old girl died as a result of suffocating after inhaling dirt.

Nevaeh went missing from in front of her Monroe apartment building May 24. Her body was found nearly two weeks later buried in a shallow grave along the River Raisin, just miles from her home. Her body was found crudely covered in cement by two men fishing along the river.

Monroe County officials say they are still pursuing all tips and leads in the case. No arrests have been made.

Sheriff Bouchard on WJR: Nevaeh Buchanan's murder will haunt community
Wednesday July 15, 2009, 7:58 AM
<snipped>
Oakland County Sheriff and gubernatorial candidate Michael Bouchard says Nevaeh Buchanan's murder will likely haunt the Monroe community, family, and officers for the rest of their lives.

"It's something that will stick with you because it's just not something that's human to be able to do that to a young child," Bouchard told Paul W. Smith this morning on WJR AM-760.

As Oakland County Sheriff, Bouchard is not directly involved in the case in Monroe, but said he's willing to lend resources to Monroe County Sheriff Tilman Crutchfield if needed.

But he speaks from experience, having worked a child killer case in the '70s.

"I know one of the very first cases I worked on was the Oakland County child killer where four children were murdered and it still haunts me — and everybody that worked on it in and the community — to this day."

Bouchard is running for governor of Michigan.

Relative: Where is Nevaeh Buchanan's mother?
5 -year-old's great-aunt hasn't seen Jennifer Buchanan in days
July 15, 2009
Updated at 12:02 p.m.

Diana Lawson, who lives in the same building as Jennifer Buchanan, said she last saw her niece three or four days ago.

“I don’t know where she’s at right now,” Lawson said this morning. “She could be with friends. She could be anywhere.”

Meanwhile, neighbors say investigators snipped pieces of carpet from a nearby apartment last week to see if fibers match those found under the little girl’s fingernails.

Aaron Baker said today that officers cut out a piece of the tan carpet from the apartment where his 8-year-old son, Austin, played with Nevaeh just hours before the little girl disappeared.

“That way they had something to run a test on,” he said from the apartment across the hall and one floor up from Nevaeh’s, adding the same carpet covers the floors in Nevaeh’s home. Officials from the Monroe County Sheriff's had no comment, a spokeswoman said this morning.

Now relatives are waiting to hear whether she was also molested, Jennifer Buchanan's cousin Shaun Lawson said this morning. Sean Lawson is Diana Lawson's son.

"All they've said is she was buried alive," Sean Lawson said. "There's more tests still to be done. As much evidence as they collected, they're waiting on evidence to come back.

UPDATED: Nevaeh's Cause Of Death Out
Autopsy Results Indicate Monroe Girl Had Dirt In Her Lungs
POSTED: Tuesday, July 14, 2009
UPDATED: 12:24 pm EDT July 15, 2009
<snipped>
The Wayne County Medical Examiner's office said dirt was found in the girl's lungs, meaning she was either held down to the ground or buried alive.

"They're waiting on preliminary results to maybe see if she was sexually molested or not," Lawson said.

Lawson said waiting for answers is hard. But he said he believes investigators are doing everything they can.

Investigators said early examinations did not identify a cause of death because no outward signs of trauma were found on Buchanan's body. There were carpet fibers found under the girl's finger nails. Neighbors said investigators have taken carpet samples from different apartments in an attempt to find out where Buchanan might have been.

Authorities said they plan to search the Monroe apartment complex where Buchanan lived again.

Buchanan's mother, Jennifer, did not answer knocks on her door or her phone.

"I can't tell you where she's at. I don't know where she's at right now," Diana Lawson said. "She could be with friends. She could be anywhere."

Investigators said they plan to question a woman who has ties to George Kennedy and Roy Smith. Both Kennedy and Smith are convicted sex offenders and have been named people of interest in the case.

The Monroe County sheriff will hold a news conference Wednesday to release more details.

Hunt for killer continues
July 15. 2009 11:08AM
<snipped>
Monroe County Sheriff Tilman Crutchfield said that the task force remains intact and that the FBI continues to be involved in the case until an arrest is made.

"This continues to be our highest priority," Sheriff Crutchfield said. "We aren't going to let off at all."

The results of the autopsy were released Tuesday and Sheriff Crutchfield said in a prepared statement that the death was by aspiration of fine particulate material (dirt).

"This means that Nevaeh's face was forcibly maintained or embedded into a dirt surface," he wrote. "Whether this resulted from another person forcibly pressing her face into dirt or whether she was buried alive could not be determined."

The sheriff said later that investigators are still waiting for results of testing being completed by the Michigan State Police crime lab.

He maintained his policy of not releasing certain specific information, such as if Nevaeh was sexually assaulted, what type of evidence had been collected and if a prime suspect has been developed.

The sheriff said it is vital to the investigation that details known only by the suspect and investigators are kept as secretive as possible.

"We're not releasing information and certain test results for a reason," Sheriff Crutchfield said. He added that he still believes the person involved with Nevaeh's abduction and murder was a local person or someone who is familiar with the area based on where she was buried.

Autopsy Results Show Nevaeh Buchanan May Have Been Buried Alive
Findings Lead Police to Believe Murdered 5-Year-Old Could Have Been Buried Alive
July 15, 2009, 2009
<snipped>
Monroe County Sheriff Tilman Crutchfield was not immediately available for comment today, but said shortly after the discovery of Nevaeh's body that there were no visible signs of abuse and that she had been buried along the River Raisin "for awhile."

Crutchfield said Jennifer Buchanan was cooperating with police, but would not comment when asked if they believe she knows something about the crime or who murdered her daughter.

Whoever the killer is, Sherry Buchanan told the station, "I hope they give him everything that's got coming to him."

"I told the officer, I said, 'You're not going to be able to protect him,'" she said. "I said 'One way or another, I said, I am going to get to him."

When asked in May if Buchanan herself was a person of interest, Crutchfield replied "no comment," according to ABC affiliate WXYZ.

Nevaeh's mom 'a prisoner in her own home,' relative says
Wednesday, July 15, 2009
<snipped>
Jennifer Buchanan is "a prisoner in her own home," still grieving over the news that her daughter Nevaeh may have been buried alive, a relative said today.

Shawn Lawson refuted reports that Buchanan, his cousin, was missing.

"She hasn't disappeared. There's a lot of rumors going around, and they need to stop," he said in the corridor outside Buchanan's basement apartment.

Lawson said Buchanan spent the day inside Apartment 63 with her mother, Sherry, brother Mike, himself and a friend. Lawson said his cousin still is grieving after hearing the results of Nevaeh's autopsy.

"It's rough," he said. "Just ask yourself how you would handle something like this. She's taking it hard. It's hard to deal with."

Just before 2 p.m., a friend slid into Buchanan's apartment carrying three Little Caesars Hot-N-Ready pizzas and a 2-liter bottle of Pepsi.

"She's not coming out," Lawson said of his cousin.

When asked why Buchanan was holed up in her apartment, he said, "Because everyone's pointing the finger. Everyone's playing the blame game."

UPDATED: Task force furious over autopsy leak
Detroit media released Nevaeh's autopsy Tuesday
Updated: Wednesday, 15 Jul 2009, 5:19 PM EDT
Published : Wednesday, 15 Jul 2009, 4:18 PM EDT
<snipped>
Monroe County Sheriff Det. Heath Velliquette said that his department is extremely upset that Nevaeh's autopsy results were leaked and made public. The results could hamper the task force's efforts in charging a suspect with the 5-year-old's murder.

Captain Ray Carroll, with the Toledo Police Department, has been a part of hundreds of investigations and knows how the leak of information can devastate a case.

"I'm sure that was key information they wanted to keep to themselves probably for a variety of reasons," Capt. Carroll said. "I don't know how the public is better off knowing those details they're extremely disturbing."

After the autopsy results were leaked about the 5-year-old Monroe girl, the Monroe Sheriff's Department did confirm late Tuesday that she died basically from inhaling dirt, possibly after being buried alive.

Before the leak the task force had not told Nevaeh's family how she died June 10.

When detectives develop suspects in a case they keep information out of the public light that only they and the suspects know. Capt. Carroll said that is a valuable tool they may need to get a confession or make an arrest.

"Our job is to put the bad guy in jail," he said. "We're well aware that the news media is a competitive industry and we appreciate everything the media has done for us in getting information out there. We appreciate when news media understands why we don't put information out."

Search for Nevaeh timeline
Updated: Tuesday, 09 Jun 2009, 4:59 PM EDT
Published : Friday, 05 Jun 2009, 11:29 AM EDT
<snipped>
Below is the sequence of events in the 11-day search for Nevaeh Buchanan.

May 24 - Sunday: 5-year-old Nevaeh Amyah Buchanan of Monroe, Mich. was reported missing from the Charlotte Arms Apartments. She was last seen around 6:30 p.m. riding a scooter in the 1100 block of Macomb Street.

May 25 - Monday: Police search the Charlotte Arms Apartment complex.

May 27 - Wednesday: Monroe County Sheriff Tilman Crutchfield said over 140 investigators are on the case. Four Dive teams from Metro Detroit search two nearby quarries with no results. Police find blood-stained shorts and towels in a Motel 7 room occupied by George Kennedy. Roy Smith, also a convicted sex-offender and acquaintance of Nevaeh's mother, was named as a second person of interest.

May 28 - Thursday: Police have no indication that Nevaeh not still alive. Volunteers search an area off Elm Avenue. The Salvation Army of Monroe's Emergency Disaster Services team provides support to response teams and volunteers.

May 29 - Friday: The preliminary DNA results from the blood evidence found at George Kennedy's motel room do not match Nevaeh Buchanan's DNA. The task-force re-searches a wooded area on Macomb Street where Nevaeh was reportedly abducted.

May 30 - Saturday: Investigators search an area in eastern Monroe, Mich. James Easter of Monroe, Mich., is named as a third person of interest who was being held on unrelated charges.

June 1 - Monday: Investigators look for a green, box-shaped minivan that was seen parked at the Hollywood School playground near where Nevaeh was last seen. The playground at Hollywood School is right next to the Charlotte Arms apartments.

June 3 - Wednesday: Authorities offer a $20,000 reward for the recovery of Nevaeh. A community reward, started by a private investigator of the Buchanan family, rached $8,000.

June 4 - Thursday: FBI and Monroe County, Mich., law enforcement find a body near the River Raisin in Raisinville Township, northwest of Monroe. Two fishermen spot a block of poured cement and notice a bad aroma. Chipping away a piece of cement, they discover what appeared to be human skin. The men immediately called police.

June 5 - Friday: In a news conference, Monroe County Sheriff Crutchfield notes the discovered body is the same age, size and sex of Nevaeh. An autopsy is being conducted by the Wayne County medical examiner's office in Detroit.

June 8 - Tuesday: The Michigan State Police Crime Lab in Northville, Mich., said they have positively identified through DNA testing the body found near the River Raisin is that of Nevaeh Buchanan.

very interesting article... seems Jennifer is nowhere to be found and LE has been back to check the carpet samples from the apartment building to see if the carpet fibers match those found under Neveah's fingernails!
===============================================
Not to say I think the mom is guilty : I am not.

But, mom's timeline was always a little shaky. I chalked it up to
mom maybe not being quite with it or not as attentive a mom as she
could have been.

And something else that always bothered me: Grandma had custody, so why does mom get to live in the same house, and 'babysit' her own daughter, while Grandma is at work?

Okay.
Will wait for results.

I'm wondering if part of JB's grieving is due to it being her fault that her love interest (Kennedy) is now back in prison because of her and she is feeling a bit guilty about it. I will admit if I am wrong but I feel that JB knows exactly what happened to Nevaeh and definitely knows who killed her. I'll be glad when all the evidence is out and the killer is put away until they are executed.:mad:

lonetraveler Michigan dosen't have the DP....the most someone gets is life in prison. In cases like this that involve children, I wish we had the DP here! :furious:

dreamweaver You missed the article(The Detroit News Article) I posted #306...Jennifer is hiding out in the her mother's apt. She won't come out cause she feels like everyone is blaming her & pointing fingers at her. I know I am who thinks it's OK to let your child around SO's...:shakehead:

I still have a gut feeling that she is responsible for Nevaeh's death & maybe all by herself. With as many times her story changed I think she is the guilty one. I could be wrong, but that is just MHO!

Do the charts show that more than one person is involved or that it is male, female, or both that are involved in this horrific murder?

It just breaks my heart that the sheriff can say that Neveah didn't suffer.:cry: :( How could that be possible if one is buried alive or her face shoved into the dirt while they/he/she buried her????

This news has upset me so much about her being buried alive......that I never even was able to go to sleep last night. All I could think about was this little beautiful angel! :cry:

:angel:

Angel Who Cares:
This case has been heartbreaking from the beginning.
And to even let myself see the vision of what Neveah may have
gone though, makes me so sad and
want justice even more for her.

FYI: Police just removed carpet from Jennifer & her mother's apt.!!!!!! Not just from her neighboors apt. did they take carpet earlier a week or two ago! Her Aunt said there was a lot of fibers found under Nevaeh's fingernails & on other items found with her. If I heard it right they mentioned fingerprints & or DNA, on the beer cans, or some items (that they won't say what they are), that were found buried with her!

They(LE) are also zeroing in on Jennifer......questioning her about who she was with & what she was doing on the day Nevaeh went missing. This was all just reported by her Aunt who was in the apt. when when LE came in & took the carpet. From what I understood it sure sounds like the POI is Jennifer herself! :shakehead:

The Aunt re-confirmed that beer cans were found buried with Nevaeh! That LE are getting evidence from all of these things...including her clothes that were buried with her.

This was just reported on clickondetroit WDIV! I'll be checking to see if they update their site & post a video of what she just said on our local news.

Sorry typos & scattered quotes......typed while I was listening!

This article says that they took carpet from the neighboors house Nevaeh was playing at LAST WEEK & LE according to her Aunt in the news report, that LE took carpet from Jennifer's & her mother's apt. TODAY!
<snipped>
Meanwhile, neighbors say investigators snipped pieces of carpet from a nearby apartment last week to see if fibers match those found under the little girl’s fingernails.

“That way they had something to run a test on,” he said from the apartment across the hall and one floor up from Nevaeh’s, adding the same carpet covers the floors in Nevaeh’s home. Officials from the Monroe County Sheriff's had no comment, a spokeswoman said this morning.

To this day mourners continue to visit the place where her body was found along the River Raisin. Now news that she may have been buried alive along its banks, have relatives calling for justice.

"The only kind of comfort would be the conviction, and this person being put to death," says Shawn Lawson, Nevaeh's 2nd cousin.

But no one seems to know who committed the crime, and when they will be brought to justice.

Investigators at the Monroe County Sheriff's Office say the search for answers is still underway.

The Nevaeh Buchanan Abduction Task Force has followed more than 1,200 tips. Neighbors say some of the tips have been leading them back to door 63 at the Charlotte Arms Apartments, where her mother Jennifer Buchanan lives.

Neighbors say investigators were seen a few days ago taking pieces of carpet from the family's apartment and that of a neighbor who lives on the 2nd floor.

"I guess they found carpet fibers on her body or under her nails," says Lawson.

Carpet samples taken in Nevaeh slaying case

The search for 5-year-old Nevaeh Buchanan’s killer continues, as neighbors revealed today that investigators snipped pieces of carpet from a nearby apartment last week to see if fibers match those found under the girl’s fingernails.

Aaron Baker said today that officers cut out a piece of the tan carpet from the apartment where his 8-year-old son, Austin, played with Nevaeh hours before the little girl disappeared.

“That way they had something to run a test on,” he said from the apartment across the hall and one floor up from the Buchanans’ apartment.

He said the same carpet covers the floors in the apartment Nevaeh shared with her mother, Jennifer Buchanan, and her grandmother, Sherry Buchanan, who was the girl’s legal guardian because her mother was on probation for criminal problems.

Officials from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office declined comment today after some family members reported that investigators said the autopsy tests showed the girl was likely buried alive shortly after she disappeared May 24.

Earlier today, Lawson’s mother, Diana Lawson, expressed concern about Jennifer Buchanan’s whereabouts. She said she had not seen Nevaeh’s mother for three or four days.

However, Buchanan appeared briefly this afternoon but did not speak with the news media.

Nevaeh investigators probe carpet fibers
Samples removed from apartment where slain girl lived
Thursday, July 16, 2009
<snipped>
Investigators in the Nevaeh Buchanan murder case are focusing on carpet fibers taken from the slain 5-year-old's apartment to see if they match fibers found on her body, neighbors and relatives said Wednesday.

Brittany Green, who lives in the Charlotte Arms Apartments, where Nevaeh lived, said police have been in and out of the complex in recent weeks gathering evidence, including swatches of brown carpet.

"They took pieces of carpet from the apartment (Tuesday), I think," said Green, 21. "I see detectives coming in and out of the building all the time. One time they were carrying big brown bags out of here."

Nevaeh's autopsy revealed that carpet fibers were found under her fingernails, or on another part of her body, said her second cousin, Shawn Lawson, who said he spoke with police when they revealed the autopsy's results to the Buchanan family.

"The police told us they found carpet fibers," Lawson said. He confirmed that investigators took carpet samples from the girl's apartment.

Jennifer Buchanan is "a prisoner in her own home," hiding not only from the news crews, which have been camped out in front of her apartment for the past two days, but from people who think she had something to do with her daughter's murder.

Otherwise, investigators have been tight-lipped about the case, although Shawn Lawson said he understood why police have been reluctant to speak.

"They don't want to let the suspect know about their investigation," he said. "We know they have to hold their tongues. There's information they don't want out there."

Sherry Buchanan, Nevaeh's grandmother, said she talked to Sheriff Tilman Crutchfield on Wednesday, and he said there was "stuff they want to keep secret."

She said her daughter, Jennifer, is cooperating with police.

Carpet Fibers Focus In Nevaeh Case

Carpet fibers are now the focus of investigators in the Nevaeh Buchanan murder case.

Those fibers were taken from the five-year-old's apartment to see if they match fibers found on her body. One tenant who lives in the Charlotte Arms Apartments near Monroe, where Nevaeh lived, said police had been spotted in the area frequently in recent days to gather evidence.

Some of the evidence reportedly included swatches of brown carpet. This week, an autopsy revealed that carpet fibers were found under Nevaeh's fingernails and elsewhere on her body.

Kidnapped girl buried alive under concrete
POLICE fear a 5-year-old girl who was kidnapped before being found dead under a layer of concrete may have been buried alive.
Last updated: July 17, 2009

Sheriff Tilman Crutchfield was not immediately available for comment today, but said shortly after the discovery of Nevaeh's body that there were no visible signs of abuse and that she had been buried along the River Raisin "for awhile."

He declined to comment specifically about how the body was buried, only that it had some type of concrete or cement on the top. He also would not say what else investigators recovered from the grave.

There have not been any arrests made yet in the case.

Crutchfield has named two convicted sex offenders as persons of interest. George Kennedy, 39, and Roy Lee Smith, 48, both said to be acquaintances of Nevaeh's mother, were arrested shortly after Nevaeh's disappearance on probation violations simply for being associated with a child.

When Nevaeh's mother, Jennifer Buchanan, was told about the body found along the river, "she broke down, and broke down hard," Michael Buchanan, her brother, said last month. "She couldn't believe her daughter had to go through this."

Crutchfield said Jennifer Buchanan was cooperating with police, but would not comment when asked if they believe she knows something about the crime or who murdered her daughter.

Could JB have possibly done something to Neveah and thought she was dead, and then got someone to help her bury her? Maybe she undressed her and threw in the beer cans to make it look more like a sexually motivated crime? Finding out she died from the burial when she thought she killed her. Could this show in the charts.
Although I do not want to believe the mother is invovled she looks awful guilty!

jnTexas I have been thinking the same thing.....JB sure made sure that she kept mentioning that she was friends with the 2 SO's GK & RS. I think she was trying to set them up or make it appear that a SO murdered her. What SO would neatly fold Neveah's clothes under her & throw in beer cans. The cig butts could have been thrown in from some she took from GK's car or apt. before hand or when she claimed he stopped by that day from his ash tray. Just thinking out loud here!

My only difference is if it was JB I think she did the murder & burial all on her own. If anyone helped her I think they would have cracked. If GK was involved I think he would plead to get a less jail time in exchange for his information! Again thinking out loud, but JB is acting very guilty...like the walls are closing in on her & she knows it. When Nevaeh 1st went missing she was all over the news & radio stations & now all of sudden nothing.

This is why I think we need to look at the all of the charts done earlier & if any new ones can be done to possilbly answer both of our questions! My hinky meter is high on her right now big time! JMHO

I was also wondering the same if this could be what any charts are showing too?? TIA

I don't understand what the big deal is about releasing the autopsy reports. There is still enough that we don't know that the investigation won't be hurt. We hear about this stuff all the time, and LE still manages to catch the perp (or should I say ?).

I think LE is being a bit too dramatic. The autopsy report of her being possibly buried alive is not going to hamper their investigation or the arrest. They are just angry someone leaked it and the press got ahold of it. While it is something only they knew...the perp may not have been aware she was still alive so their case for keeping it for a confession makes no sense.

Comment by Shane, Nevaeh's so-called "father":

AS FOR CHILD SUPPORT I KNOW ITS MY RESPONIBLE TO PAY BUT WHY SHOULD I PAY WHEN I DID'NT EVEN GET TO SEE HER AND NO MY KIDS WERE NOT UNSUPERVISED I HAD FAMILY WATCHING THEM............ [all typos belong to the daddy]

So, because he wasn't allowed to see this child, was she not supposed to eat, wear clothing or shoes, or have a roof over her head???? Nothing irks me more than parents who think punishing the child by not paying child support is moral.

What does he mean by "kids"? Are there other kids involved? God help them if there are.

What kind of life did poor Nevaeh have with parents like hers, two selfish jackasses? So daddy's shacking up with Uncle Mike's wife??? :eek: Charming. And to think I was feeling sorry for him until I read his own words!

I'm just reading through the whole thread. I was on vacation when the story of the abduction broke and was still traveling when they found her body, so I missed all the little nuances that are usually caught in these threads. My computer was with me, but I wasn't able to read as thoroughly as I normally do. After getting home from my near month-long vacation, I went on the road again. So computer time was limited. I'm just now catching up.

Thanks to all who kept this thread going: the Astros, of course, Angel, Oldsoul and so many others. Bless all of you. May Nevaeh rest in peace knowing you are out here trying to find her killer/killers.

Tomorrow will mark one month since the body of 5-year-old Nevaeh Buchanan was found along the River Raisin.

Her body was found on June 4th, yet these articles (there were others) misrepresent July 13th as the day of finding. Are these reporters loony?

I agree with those here who say dying of suffocation by being buried alive IS suffering, or even just having one's face pushed into the dirt and inhaling is painful. Obviously the people who reported her "lack of suffering" have never suffered the fear that comes with not being able to breathe, or even the act of not being able to breathe because of obstruction in the lungs or airways. How dare they make light of this poor child's suffering in her last moments! I'm horrified they'd say such a thing!

I'm not so sure GK and RS would have cracked under the pressure if they "helped". They're already being sent back to the big house, and they knew all along they would be for breaking parole restrictions, so why confess? They have nothing to lose and nothing to gain, except maybe throwing JB under the bus, but they'd both be facing additional charges if they blabbed. I just don't know............
