GUILTY IL - Nailah Franklin, 28, Chicago, 19 September 2007

I'm so sorry scooby that your friend is missing. Prayers, prayers and more prayers for all of you that are missing Nailah.

scooby,
I'm so sorry about nahlia! Sending positive thoughts.

Question: Have the police been able to question the threatening ex-boyfriend?

It's now hit the national media:

Police stepped up their search for a missing drug sales representative after finding the 28-year-old woman's car near an abandoned building in Hammond, Indiana.

Nailah Franklin was last heard from Tuesday, when she sent an uncharacteristically vague text message to friends and family saying that she was having dinner and that she'd call later.

She never did.

Days earlier, Franklin had filed a police report saying she had been getting threatening phone calls.

Does anyone know what kind of drugs she was representing for Eli Lilly? Typically they have samples that they leave at doctor's offices. Maybe this wasn't a ex-boyfriend at all but someone who needed or wanted the drugs. Or thought she had something more potent than she did?

FYI - the current boyfriend resides in Milwaukee and there's every reason to believe he is truly NOT a suspect.

Have any reports said they have located the ex?

Not to be a pest, but I am friends with one of Nailah's friends in Chicago. The guy who left her the harassing message was someone she had gone on about three dates with. He was not ever her boyfriend and it is very difficult for her family and friends to constantly read him being referred to as her ex-boyfriend.

Cops tap FBI resources, seek info on date who made threatening calls

High-tech equipment from federal authorities will be brought in to assist police in the investigation into a missing Chicago businesswoman, officials said Monday.

Nailah Franklin, 28, was reported missing Sept. 19. Since then a pond in Calumet City has been searched and her car was recovered in Hammond.

Now Chicago Police are using FBI resources and equipment to further the search.

Scooby,

Prayers for you and all of Nailah's friends and family. May answers come soon.

Point taken - it's an easy way to refer to him. Perhaps we should use "The Creep"...

I hope they find her safe. There are so many people who care about her.

MSNBC is reporting that a body has been found behind a building.. They are not saying if it is Nailah yet.

Updated info says it is an unclothed female body found in Calumet City by police or searchers looking specifically for Nailah.

What are the chances that she files a police report about a man harassing her, goes missing, possibly ends up dead, and that it's a completely unrelated person? My bets, if it's her, are on that guy.

But I more wish that it isn't her.

Prayers for the family of this woman found in Calumet City, be it Nailah's or not. I feel so sad because in my heart, I feel like it's her. I just hope that if she is no longer with us her family can have some closure and that they may be able to find the person who did this.
